In order to allow the satellite to self-repair through programming or to increase its controllability, there are many communication ports inside the satellite. Each component has a port to receive and execute commands.

The main circuit board of the satellite, which contains the central control unit, is vital: damage to the main circuit board affects computation and regulation.

When the main circuit board is damaged, the satellite cannot perform calculations, and thus cannot convert the images captured by the imaging equipnt into signals.

The satellite base then cannot receive the signals that represent the images, and the control screen is unable to display anything. All they can do is check through other open ports whether there is a problem with the components.

Soon, they reached a conclusion.

The satellite base confird that other components were operating normally, but the core main circuit board showed absolutely no response.

This confird that the main circuit board was damaged.

A damaged main circuit board on a satellite cannot be repaired, which ans the satellite has beco ineffective. All that can be done is to possibly recover it.

But recovery is not easy and would require substantial funds; considering the cost of recovery and repair, it might be more feasible to launch a new satellite.

This represented a significant loss.

What the personnel at the satellite base didn’t understand was why the KR-71 had this issue with the main circuit board being damaged?

This was an extrely rare malfunction.

Even among a thousand satellites, it would be rare to find one with a damaged main circuit board, particularly since it is located at the very center of the satellite, fully enclosed.

If it were related to space radiation, geomagnetic storms, or electrostatic discharge, it would be the external components that would likely be damaged first. The probability of the central main circuit board being affected while other parts remained undamaged could be described as ’extrely slim’.

Over the past twenty years, no satellite had suddenly encountered such an issue.

The staff at the satellite base began to speculate, "Could it have collided with sothing?"

"Impossible, if there had been a collision, the outer skin would surely be damaged first. But the data we’re getting indicates that the outer skin is completely intact."

"It must be a short circuit. Based on the data, it seems to be a sudden surge in the electrical circuit that caused it, with the electrical current increasing many tis over."

"How could this happen?"

"I don’t know, maybe it was a geomagnetic storm, or maybe a solar storm. After all, anything is possible in space..."

"But KR-71 is a low Earth orbit satellite, it’s only about three hundred kiloters from the Earth’s surface. It shouldn’t be susceptible to such significant interference... could it be..."

"Related to the mission?"

Soone raised the suspicion.

DKR-71 was a controlled reconnaissance satellite, deployed because there had been reports of a suspected small-scale nuclear explosion in the deserts of the East. So, the satellite was sent to investigate.

But before the satellite could find anything, it suddenly encountered a problem, which made it hard not to associate the incident with its mission.

An expert shook his head, "Impossible. They are relatively backward in terms of space technology and don’t possess the capability for space detection."

"Only M Country has the capability for global space detection."

"They coincidentally used a high-altitude satellite to observe KR-71 and were able to suddenly deploy anti-satellite technology to directly damage the main circuit board from within..."

"Do you think that’s possible?"

Of course, it wasn’t possible.

If it were indeed an attack against the satellite, it would generally be one of two types: the hypothetical space-based satellite weapon, which no country has been reported to have launched for the purpose of targeting satellites.

Besides, there would be ground attacks.

Low Earth orbit satellites are only a few hundred kiloters above the ground. In theory, it’s possible to create a corresponding ’anti-satellite missile’.

However, if an attack ca from the ground, it would almost certainly involve an explosive device that would shatter the satellite completely, not rely damage its main circuit board.

"So, it must be a malfunction."

"Any kind of flaw is possible. Perhaps the quality of the main circuit board was substandard..."

In the end, the satellite base could only accept this conclusion.

Of course, they had no other choice; they certainly couldn’t announce that the satellite sent for reconnaissance had malfunctioned, suspecting that the target of the investigation was responsible.

That would cause a huge controversy!

...

The anti-gravity team was unaware that their experint in magnetic field absorption and the Z-wave they released had actually hit a reconnaissance satellite by accident.

Many even believed that the experint had failed completely, as they saw nothing and detected nothing.

Zhao Yi, however, had drawn a conclusion, "The mont the anti-gravity device was turned off, the magnetic field strength dropped instantaneously, and Z-waves were released, traveling a much greater distance than anticipated."

How far exactly?

Zhao Yi couldn’t provide an exact figure, but he could derive a vague outco from "Law of Cause and Effect" – over a thousand kiloters.

This was quite shocking.

Zhao Yi himself found the conclusion hard to believe, as he had estimated the increased distance to be only a few hundred tis.

Now it also seed to be a few hundred tis, but the situation was different. It was only the first experint, which hadn’t undergone any optimization for factors such as magnetic field intensity, scale, spatial isolation strength, or the energy of the Z-waves. The experint was simply to test whether the magnetic field could absorb and release Z-waves.

That was all.

Yet the Z-wave released had exceeded a thousand kiloters in length. If everything was thoroughly researched, would the Z-wave be able to cover more than ten thousand kiloters with ease?
