He then contacted an acquaintance in the Physics Departnt of the Science Academy to inquire about Zhang Qican. Since they weren’t acquainted, he felt it wasn’t appropriate to call directly, so he simply asked soone else to pass on the ssage, inviting Zhang Qican to participate in his project without revealing any specifics.
Zhang Qican didn’t know Zhao Yi well, but that didn’t stop others from doing so ’ideological work’ on him, ntioning ’the benefits of researching with Academician Zhao’ and the like. Eventually, Zhang Qican agreed. It was Zhang Hongzhi, the director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ High Energy Institute, who called to confirm that Zhang Qican would co to the capital next week.

"With the addition of Ruan Wenye, that should about do it," Zhao Yi pondered over the team mbers, feeling that three top particle mathematics experts would barely make an adequate number.

Two resus for highly accomplished optics experts were recomnded. Both were female professors: one was Kuang Xiaohong, a professor at the Science Academy’s Quantum Optics Laboratory, and the other was Li Xiaotong, a doctoral supervisor at Hong Kong University’s Optical Engineering Laboratory.
Kuang Xiaohong was a pure experintal physicist in the field of optics, involved in quantum optics experints, working on ’single-particle-level quantum optics experintal techniques.’
This was the latest technology in the field of quantum optics research internationally, for which two optics experts had received the Nobel Prize in Physics.
Li Xiaotong, employed by Hong Kong University and also serving as a doctoral supervisor, worked in the Optical Engineering Laboratory and had a deeper understanding of optical research theory.
Both female professors were very accomplished.
After briefly reviewing their resus, Zhao Yi imdiately agreed. Zhao Yi felt much relieved. After confirming everyone’s participation, he submitted the list of personnel. Next, he waited for the others to arrive.
The team mbers arrived one after another.
Ruan Wenye and Huang Zhong ca early; they arrived one day apart and were accommodated in a hotel nearby. They would visit Yanhua University daily, eager to learn the specifics of the project, and then realized the issue of confidentiality.
The professors at the Yanhua University’s School of Sciences knew that Zhao Yi had secured a major project, understanding it related to antigravity research, but the specifics were unclear; they didn’t know much more.
Zhao Yi gave them just one sentence, "I’ll tell everyone when all are assembled!"
The third to arrive was Zhang Qican, much younger than Ruan Wenye and Huang Zhong. However, he seed not adept at socializing and mostly listened on the side without actively inquiring about the specifics of the project.
A week went by, and Li Xiaotong and Kuang Xiaohong arrived. It seed they had arranged to co together, both reaching on the sa morning.
Upon knowing that Li Xiaotong and Kuang Xiaohong had arrived, Zhao Yi invited everyone to his apartnt in the afternoon, and a eting was promptly set up in the spacious living room.
He sat on the sofa, looking at everyone as he said, "You all are curious about the project, so I’ll explain."
"Our research is on antigravity. You might have heard about the recent experint I conducted with Professor Li Ning, where we demonstrated the phenonon of superconducting antigravity."
"That experint was very successful; the apparatus is still in the physics laboratory. However, due to sealing issues, it can’t be used anymore."
"But our antigravity research isn’t related to superconductivity; our first aim is to study photons."
"Photons?"
Huang Zhong was imdiately surprised.
The others also turned their attention to the two female professors, puzzled at first as to why optical professors were part of the team. Now it all made sense; they were here to study photons.
"But can photons have an antigravity effect?" Zhang Qican spoke up rarely, voicing the doubts that others also had.
Ruan Wenye quickly said, "Qican, you have to believe in Academician Zhao!"
Huang Zhong hesitated.
The two female professors also looked at Zhao Yi with puzzled expressions, hoping for an explanation.
Zhao Yi said, "I believe they cannot."
