The first light of dawn painted the villa in pale gold and dusty pinks, but no one had slept.
The bedroom was a tomb of whispers, half-silent tears, and anxious glances. Even the air felt tighter, as though it too was holding its breath. The faint sound of waves crashing in the distance barely softened the rising storm of tension inside.
Darius sat upright in bed, surrounded by his girls, but his mind was still on the ssage from the unknown phone.
"Wake up early. The producers are planning sothing. Trust no one."
He hadn't shown them yet. Not because he didn't trust them—he trusted them more than anything. But because the fear that blood in his gut was new, different.
This wasn't just about eliminations anymore.
It was about manipulation.
Control.
And soone out there—soone close to the production team—was trying to help him.
6:00 A.M. - Villa Courtyard
The screen ca on with no chi. Just a sudden flash of light, waking the few who had drifted into uneasy sleep.
Harry's face filled the screen, grave and theatrical.
"Good morning, villa. The audience has voted. And now, the mont you've all been waiting for."
The cara panned dramatically across the contestants gathered around the firepit. Eyes bloodshot. Bodies stiff.
Yuna gripped Darius's hand so tightly her knuckles were white. Alicia refused to look at the screen. Avery stared straight ahead, unblinking. Emma had her arms crossed, lips trembling ever so slightly. Even Matt, off to the side, looked more alert than usual.
Harry inhaled through the screen.
"The contestant with the lowest public support, and the person who will now leave the villa... is..."
Another beat.
Then the screen glitched. Briefly. Too fast for the others to notice.
But Darius saw it.
A flicker of code.
The letters [INTERNAL OVERRIDE: STAGE 1] flashed for a split second.
And then the na appeared.
Emma.
Silence.
Ti stretched.
Emma's lips parted, then closed again. Her eyes didn't move, didn't blink.
Yuna gasped. Alicia shook her head in disbelief.
"No," Avery said quietly. "This is wrong."
Darius stood up.
"There's been a mistake. She was one of the most loved. Everyone knows that."
Harry's prerecorded voice ca again, cold and final.
"Please pack your things. You have ten minutes."
Emma slowly stood. Her steps were hollow, chanical. Her body moved, but her soul felt carved out. Yuna and Alicia rushed to her, arms wrapping around her in a tight hug. Avery followed behind them, her face unreadable.
Darius stepped forward, stopping in front of her. His throat tightened as he looked into her eyes.
"Wait," he whispered. "This isn't over. I promise."
Emma gave a broken smile. "I know."
She hugged him tightly. "They might take out of this house. But they can't take from your story."
Then she looked at the cara.
"I hope the world rembers who I was. Not who they edited to be."
And just like that, she was gone. The villa doors closed behind her with a soft, devastating click.
An Hour Later – Private Terrace
Darius finally showed them the phone.
"I got this last night."
He handed it to Yuna, who read the ssage aloud.
"Wake up early. The producers are planning sothing. Trust no one."
Alicia and Avery crowded around.
"Where did this even co from?" Alicia asked.
"It wasn't part of the show devices," Darius said. "I found it beside my nightstand after the lights went out. It wasn't there earlier."
"That ans soone ca into the room," Avery said slowly. "Soone who works here. Soone with access."
"But who would do that?" Yuna asked. "Why warn us?"
Darius exhaled. "Because not everyone is happy with what this show has beco. Soone out there is trying to help."
Yuna stared out at the sea, her voice low. "Or manipulate us further."
Alicia bit her lip. "Either way, Emma's gone because of it."
"No," Darius said. "She's gone because soone behind those caras decided to rewrite the script."
He looked at all of them, their eyes tired but still burning.
"We don't play defense anymore. We fight."
Yuna stepped beside him, fierce. "Then let's tear the curtain down."
Avery folded her arms. "We need proof. Evidence. Leverage."
"We need allies," Alicia added. "If soone warned us, there might be more."
Just then, the phone buzzed again.
Everyone froze.
Darius turned it over.
Unknown Number: "They'll co for Alicia next. Be ready."
A cold chill swept through the group.
Alicia looked at him. "So what now?"
Darius put the phone down. His voice was steady, but his jaw was clenched.
"Now, we fight back."
***
The mood in the villa had shifted from tense to charged.
Emma's departure had carved a wound in the group. Where there was once playful banter, now there was silence. Even Yuna, who often led the emotional temperature of the group, seed withdrawn. Her usually sharp and assertive voice was quieter now, more calculated.
But in that silence, sothing else was brewing. Focus.
They were done being pawns.
Darius stood at the center of the courtyard as the sun rose higher, casting long shadows over the lounge chairs and pool. The phone in his pocket buzzed again. Another ssage.
**Unknown Number: "Evidence is stored in the green room. Top shelf. Hidden drive behind the audio books."
He didn't waste ti. Gathering the girls quickly, he explained the latest ssage.
"We're going to split up. Alicia and I will check the green room. Yuna, Avery, stay by the caras and look for blind spots."
"What if they catch us?" Avery asked.
"Then we give them sothing better to film," Yuna answered coolly.
Alicia looked at Darius. "Let's go."
Green Room – Ten Minutes Later
The green room was rarely used anymore. It had been decorated to look like a cozy reading nook, but most contestants ignored it in favor of the pool or outdoor areas. Now, it was silent, dust hanging in golden beams of light.
Darius ran a hand along the shelf. Rows of fake books lined the top, many untouched.
"Help ," he said.
Alicia climbed up beside him, reaching behind a row of audio book cases. Her fingers brushed sothing hard, cold.
A flash drive.
She pulled it free and held it up.
"Got it."
Darius nodded. "We don't plug it in here. They'll see it."
Alicia tucked it inside her bra, eyes steely. "Then we wait. And we hit them when it hurts."
