She glanced at Gu Jin Yan beside her, planning to settle the score with him later.

Right now, she was going to et that old hag first.

"Xiao Xi, how co you suddenly decided to co keep Grandma company with ?" Gu Jin Yan was genuinely a bit surprised, and also a bit pleased.

"I thought about it. Grandma doesn’t have much ti left. As her granddaughter‑in‑law, I should at least go see her. For this period, I’ll stay with you. All the way until our big wedding."

Helian Xi let out a cold laugh. Back when she was together with Lu Xingzhi and the others, she was stupid.

Her ability only let her see that this old lady didn’t have good intentions, but she hadn’t realized just how vicious her mind really was.

Unbelievable.

"Alright then. Honey, I’m wronging you." Gu Jin Yan also had no choice; he didn’t agree with a lot of the things his grandma did either.

But so what? Grandma really had treated him the best.

"What’s there to feel wronged about? You think I actually want to do all this? I’m doing it for you." Helian Xi thought, the more that old hag didn’t want her to get married, the more determined she was to marry.

And she had to get married right under her nose.

When they arrived at the Gu Family’s old house, Zhang Wanru was a bit surprised to see Helian Xi coming in together with Gu Jin Yan.

Helian Xi acted like she hadn’t seen her expression at all. Swallowing her disgust, she called out sweetly, "Grandma."

"What brings Xiao Xi here today?" Zhang Wanru’s face didn’t look good; she did not welco Helian Xi.

"Grandma, I’ve been really busy with school lately, so I haven’t been able to co visit you. Please don’t be mad at ." Helian Xi deliberately put on a very affectionate act, taking Zhang Wanru’s arm. "Grandma, don’t worry, I’ll take leave during this period. I’ll co keep you company every day."

"No need, you don’t have to co." Zhang Wanru’s voice was bland and indifferent.

"Grandma, are you dissatisfied with about sothing?" Helian Xi lowered her eyes, looking like she was incredibly wronged.

Playing the white lotus, huh!

She knew how to do that too!

"Grandma, Xiao Xi ca especially to keep you company, you’re not allowed to give her a long face." Gu Jin Yan knew Zhang Wanru didn’t like Helian Xi, but he did.

Just because he married Helian Xi, there had been a long stretch of ti when Grandma refused to see him.

"Grandma, I ca to see you."

When the old lady heard this voice, her brows and eyes imdiately softened.

"Jiaojiao is here, huh! Co in, Grandma’s good granddaughter."

Shen Jiao walked in, first looking at the old lady, then her gaze, full of tender affection, landed on Gu Jin Yan.

"Brother Jin Yan." Shen Jiao greeted politely, then looked toward Helian Xi. "And this is...?"

"Honey, since when did you get another little sister? I rember you only have two sisters, Jin’an and Jinchen!" Helian Xi smiled with her eyes, looking at Shen Jiao. She was pretty, and seed poised and well‑mannered.

Not a low level player.

Helian Xi didn’t get angry or lose her temper; she just asked in the tone of a simple question.

"She’s my acknowledged granddaughter. Do you have a problem with that?" Zhang Wanru, relying on her "only a few months left" diagnosis, was utterly unscrupulous now.

If she’d been in good health, she might not have shown Helian Xi any of this attitude. But now, wasn’t she supposedly "down to a few months"?

"Grandma, what are you saying? I don’t even know this little sister, how could I have a problem with her? I was just asking, in case I got it wrong and made a joke of myself. Is that wrong too? Grandma, I know you’ve never liked ... I..."

As Helian Xi spoke, tears kept streaming down her face.
