He pointed to a spot next to the Empire State Building and said to CC:

"In about 20 years, there will be a Twin Towers Building, the World Trade Center, of about the sa height as the Empire State Building."

Hmm?

CC turned her head:

"How do you know that?"

Lin Xian smiled slightly:

"I read it in the newspaper."

What he didn’t tell CC was that on September 11, 2001, the infamous 9/11 event occurred, where two planes crashed into the World Trade Center, destroying the entire complex.

Afterwards, a morial was built there, known as "Ground Zero," becoming a new landmark of New York City.

"The rolling Yangtze River flows east..."

Lin Xian recited softly in Chinese.

This is history, this is the long river, witnessing everything rising from the ground, only to be subrged again and reset to zero.

He turned his head and looked at the entranced CC:

"Speaking of which, is your biggest dream in life to go to Manhattan?"

"Yes."

CC nodded, her eyes reflecting the shimring light of the Hudson River:

"It might sound exaggerated... but I really want to see Manhattan. If I don’t go, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life."

"Even though I know, as grandma often tells , that one should realize many values in life, there are many worthwhile things to strive for, and it makes no difference where you live... I still want to go to Manhattan, even if just to live a dream, to see the center of the world."

"Oh, it’s easy to say, but who knows how long this dream will last? Perhaps when I grow a bit older, a bit more mature, I’ll completely give up on this idea and accept reality, living my whole life in Brooklyn."

"Don’t give up."

Lin Xian shook his head:

"I believe you will, you will be like those dazzling girls, wearing your favorite white dress, standing at the highest point in Manhattan, looking down on the whole world like a princess."

Pfft—

CC burst into laughter at Lin Xian’s awkward words:

"Hahaha... A princess, in this era? Are you still living in a fairy tale world? There are no princesses in this world anymore!"

She laughed, wiping the corners of her eyes:

"Besides, I’m no princess, not even close to Cinderella."

"Hey, enough about , since we’re here, what about you? Do you have any dreams? What’s your dream?"

Lin Xian took a step forward.

Leaning on the riverside railing, looking into the distance:

"My dream..."

He pursed his lips and said against the wind:

"My dream is probably to...[hope not to fail everyone’s expectations, to successfully save everything, and beco a qualified Savior.]"

...

...

The air suddenly beca awkward and silent.

"Huh?"

CC looked at Lin Xian with a strange gaze:

"Are you serious?"

Lin Xian nodded: "Doesn’t it sound unbelievable?"

"Yeah, being a Savior... sounds like a fairy tale."

CC paused, then continued:

"But, every dream is worthy of respect."

She giggled and reached out, patting Lin Xian on the shoulder:

"[Then I wish you all the best... to beco the greatest Savior in the world!]"

Lin Xian chuckled lightly, turning to look at CC:

"[Then I wish you... to beco the most beautiful princess in all of Manhattan!]"

The two looked at each other.

Couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

"Alright, alright, let’s stop joking around."

CC waved her hand:

"Let’s be realistic and think about what to eat tonight."

Lin Xian looked around:

"How about we buy sothing nearby?"

"No way, that’s too extravagant!"

CC dissuaded:

"Co on, let’s go back to where we belong... Have so bread tonight, and we can go to the church for a relief al in the morning."

...

By the ti they returned to the Brooklyn slums, it was late, and night had fallen.

Lin Xian bought so bread and milk, sharing with CC, which was much better than the relief al in the morning.

At night, CC planned to take Lin Xian to sleep in the park for the night.

But Lin Xian insisted on finding a cheap hotel.

CC found it unreasonable:

"Lin Xian, even the cheapest hotel costs 30 cents a night, that’s enough money for us to live for several days, how can you waste it like that?"

"It’s different, CC, this money really can’t be saved."

Lin Xian said seriously.

Tonight, he had sothing very important to do.

Would he still dream after traveling back to 1952? Would the dreams change?

He was very curious.

Tonight...

He had to find a safe place to try it!

(Dear readers, if you feel this part of the plot is progressing slowly, feel free to wait until this volu is completed before reading again.

Actually, this is only 6 Chapters into the opening of this volu, which is the downside of releasing one Chapter a day; simultaneously, it’s a new environnt, and the male and female leads are unfamiliar with each other, a lot of the plot needs to be laid out for the subsequent plot explosion, so it might seem drawn out.

But trust the author, like the first volu, reading it all at once won’t be a problem, the necessary buildup is truly essential.)
