Chapter 1110: Chapter 20 (Added for Clan Leader Ling PoTian!)_2
Although Lin Xian saw his face in the Fourth Dreamland, no one could guarantee that the face was real; after all, VV had compared that face with all the photos that could be collected on Earth, finding no such person, so there must be sothing wrong with the mysterious old man’s face in the dream.
Either it’s not the person himself or he has had plastic surgery.
Considering that Copernicus was very old and could barely hold on in 2024, it is very likely that in the technologically advanced future, treatnts for the body, plastic surgery, and skin replacent were probable.
When it cos to Copernicus, Lin Xian had a relatively deep understanding.
As Newton said, Copernicus started hunting scientists very early, even beginning his actions in the last century; and he was very particular about the sense of ritual, ensuring that each scientist he killed died at 00:42 local ti, supposedly as a form of tribute, supposedly as the highest respect for these scientists.
Later, as he possibly got older, his blade dulled, and he was unwilling to take action personally, so he found Ji Xinshui and established the Seven Sins to carry out his killing tasks.
Copernicus had even specifically told Angelica that the scariest people in the world were not physicists, not astronors, not chemists, but…
Mathematicians!
Because mathematics is the only discipline that, without the need for any experintal data and instrunts, solely with paper and pen, can deduce the foundation of all things and even the truth of the universe.
About this, Lin Xian had no doubt.
Big Face Cat’s father, Chen Heping, could be called the Great Emperor of calculation.
In a rundown house, with pencil and paper, he calculated the cosmic constant 42;
In a dirty and disorganized slum, also with paper and pen, he completed the theory of ti travel, directly enabling Gao Wen to create a complete Ti Shuttle Machine.
Lin Xian still didn’t understand why Copernicus was so obsessed with killing mathematicians.
But intuition told him…
It must, surely, absolutely have sothing to do with the cosmic constant 42!
It can be basically confird that Ji Lin’s parents were probably also killed by Copernicus, it’s just that he wouldn’t admit it, and preferred to fra Jask.
But at this point, no one would continue to believe Copernicus’s lies anymore, neither Lin Xian nor Angelica believed them.
In the Fourth Dreamland, the cunning Copernicus deliberately mimicked Kevin Walker’s catchphrase, confusing Lin Xian into focusing attention on Kevin Walker.
Later, when Lin Xian exposed that he was not Kevin Walker, he claid to be Jask, and still wanted to continue deceiving Lin Xian.
It would be absurd to believe this old geezer again.
So, although Lin Xian has not contacted Jask and Angelica in the past few days, he felt that these two must have already joined forces, sharing a mutual vendetta and preparing to confront Copernicus together.
Their revolutionary friendship is extraordinarily strong.
Copernicus ruined Angelica’s second life and killed Ji Lin’s parents; then not only did he want to steal Jask’s Entangled State of Ti-Space Particle but also planned to kill Jask and replace him with a doppelganger…
A family blood feud.
Angelica and Jask could hardly wait to strangle Copernicus imdiately, Lin Xian had no worries about their cooperation, with their expertise and goals being very much aligned.
But to tell the truth.
Copernicus indeed is the most troubleso enemy in the Genius Club.
He joined the club the earliest, for several years’ ti, he was able to consistently ask Einstein one question each month, without worry about others overhearing, nor fear of revealing his identity.
Because the truth and secrets Copernicus knew, even the core answers between space-ti, history, and the future, were much more than others.
His current energy and focus have obviously been on the Ti Shuttle Machine.
The bad news is that he is planning to steal the Entangled State of Ti-Space Particle from once he understands enough about the principles and theory of ti travel.
The good news is, that day seems very far away… because currently, Copernicus is considerably behind in the progress of the Ti Shuttle Machine; perhaps the Space-Ti Particle in my possession will remain safe until the cot approaches Earth in 2234.
But still, one cannot be too careful.
Lin Xian has already decided what question to ask Einstein on the 1st of the next month, which is August 1st when the Genius Club will et again, and how to cleverly pose the question.
…
[No.3 Newton]
This virtual image is of a young man, but the real person is an old man who always talks about his grandchildren and is the third mber of the Genius Club.
As the mber who joined the club shortly after Copernicus, his relationship with Copernicus seems very poor, even extrely tense.
But the reason definitely doesn’t lie with Newton because everyone in the club dislikes Copernicus, which obviously indicates that there’s sothing wrong with Copernicus as a person.
Newton’s real identity is also unclear, and there’s no clue about his future plans and real intentions.
At yesterday’s club eting, Newton didn’t ask any questions, which left Lin Xian without a way to understand this “old trickster.”
Although it currently seems that this old trickster is a decent person, in this cutthroat, werewolf-like club, one shouldn’t believe any word from anyone; everyone has countless tricks up their sleeves and Oscar-level acting skills.
For now, overtly, Newton hasn’t shown any apparent hostility or clear plan, so Lin Xian doesn’t regard him as an enemy.
He is just puzzled.
