Chapter 1027: Chapter 65: With High Position Cos Great Responsibility

Two days later.

East Sea, Lin-gang Special Area, Tesla Super Factory, in a secret eting room.

Only Lin Xian and Jask were present.

Jask’s visit to China wasn’t publicized at all; he didn’t even update his schedule on Twitter and flew secretly to China alone.

Upon landing, he imdiately contacted Lin Xian and arranged to et at the Tesla Super Factory.

Jask was well aware.

Lin Xian definitely had sothing very important to tell him, so… obviously, there was no place more suitable than this secret eting room.

This was the highest-classified area within the Super Factory; Jask was the only one with access.

He brought Lin Xian in, locked the door, followed the local custom by brewing a pot of tea, and said with a smile,

“Long ti no see, Lin Xian. I’m glad to hear that you have completed the three test questions from the Genius Club.”

He poured a cup of tea for Lin Xian and handed it over.

Lin Xian took it.

It was a bit hot, so he placed it on the coffee table.

Having not seen Jask for less than two months, Lin Xian noticed he looked tired and seed to lack his usual spirited deanor.

Had the last two months been too busy?

Jask poured himself a cup of tea and sat opposite Lin Xian:

“So… have you entered the answer to the third question? Knowing you, I’m sure you believe that humanity has a future, right?”

Lin Xian nodded:

“I indeed chose [YES]; I believe that humanity has a future and should have one. However, I haven’t input the specific answer yet.”

“After all… how should I put it, although I know the last question is subjective and my answer is unlikely to change, out of caution, I still want to talk with you today, to further understand so matters before I submit the answer.”

Jask chuckled after hearing this:

“If it’s just dabbling, of course you can. But please understand, as I’ve said before, until you’re confird as a mber of the Genius Club, I can’t discuss too many specific matters with you.”

“Even though I’m sure that no eavesdropping devices are in this eting room, nor will a third person know about our conversation, joining the Genius Club ans adhering to principles and rules.”

“I believe anyone who is about to do great things should have such integrity, and I assu… that goes for you as well.”

Lin Xian spun the tea cup on the coffee table, smiling slightly:

“Don’t worry, I don’t intend to ask about the specifics of the Genius Club. Let’s just say, for today, let’s chat as friends.”

“I’m curious… how did you answer the third question? This kind of subjective answer shouldn’t count as a confidential matter, right? Besides, given your high-profile behavior, even if you don’t say it, most people could guess most of it.”

Jask took a sip of tea.

Putting down the cup:

“Of course not a problem, this isn’t sothing I need to keep secret for . My goals and dreams are known to the whole world; it is to immigrate to Mars and further step into the broader Universe.”

“It’s not that I dislike Earth; on the contrary, I like Earth a lot. But if human civilization is to develop and continue… then, leaving Earth and leaving the Star System are inevitable paths.”

“In fact, many problems on Earth are now gradually erging: environntal issues, resource issues, energy issues. The deterioration of everything is incrental; it always seems calm until the problems beco prominent.”

“But, once the consequences of deterioration beco evident, it’s too late to nd. Take Mars immigration and interstellar travel, for example, this kind of technological developnt and iteration isn’t sothing that can be achieved in just a few years or decades once initiated; it’s a lengthy process.”

“What I’m doing now, using a Chinese idiom, is to prepare for danger in tis of safety and to make preparations before the rain. Many people think I’m a hoaxer, that my hype is for the stock price, I don’t deny that, because I’m aware that I’m bluffing about many things, and in the short term, I really can’t achieve what I’ve promised.”

“But I must do so, from a long-term perspective, if human civilization does not start researching alien immigration and space travel now, when should we start? Wait until an apocalyptic crisis arrives to leave Earth? Or wait until aliens are upon us before we consider building spaceships?”

“There are already too many belated realizations throughout human history, and I don’t want to see humanity repeat those mistakes. So, [there always has to be soone who does it first, soone to ignite this bundle of kindling].”

“Just talking won’t ignite this fire; it requires actual action. You might think my thinking is an unnecessary worry, as it is very possible for humanity to survive on Earth until natural extinction without experiencing any catastrophic disasters. But… heh, there’s more I can’t say, in any case, leading people out of Earth, flying towards the Universe, that’s what I consider the best future.”

Jask spread his hands, self-deprecatingly:

“Regarding launching immigration spacecraft to Mars, I don’t know how many lies I’ve told, how many boasts I’ve made; originally I said it would be landing on Mars by 2026, right? Later it was pushed to 2030, and then further to 2050.”
