"How old are you?" I asked after a few monts, trying to create so more conversation.
I had fought alongside her and she saved , so it wouldn't hurt to get to know her better.
And although I told myself I didn't want to get close to her, it was hard not to, while I had nothing else to do.
"I'm nearly 22," she answered.
"Did you always wanna be a cop?"
"Yup. When I was younger sothing happened with my sis... And since then, it was just what I wanted to beco..."
"What about you? What do you want to do?" she asked .
If she had asked a year ago, I would have said sothing like an accountant or maybe a professional kickboxer, but I didn't know what to say.
Obviously, I knew exactly what I wanted to beco, the Greatest Gangster, but I couldn't say that to her.
"I don't know... I just want enough money so that my mother doesn't have to work," I answered plainly.
Looking around their apartnt, I could see that she was definitely living in luxury, and I could feel that she seed to feel guilty.
It had an open design and was very modern, with a comfortable living room area that had a large TV attached to the wall, that also had a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Their apartnt was clean, painted in bright colours, and was overall a very pleasant place to live in.
"Nice place you've got here," I couldn't help but comnt.
"Yeah, my father..."
"So... you have a rich dad."
Giving her the eyes and a flirting look, she yells, "Ew! You're still a kid. But maybe..."
"I was just joking," I said as I burst out into laughter, seeing how flustered and red she beca.
"S-Sa," she said, embarrassed, as she turned around and stord off to what I believed to be her room.
Shutting the door behind her, she left alone for a few minutes as I relaxed and gathered my thoughts.
Angela had an amusing character, and at tis it was truly difficult to believe that she was the sa cop that fought valiantly, but maybe I didn't have to keep my distance from her like I initially thought.
Innately, she seed to be a good person, and even though she was a cop; she showed the willingness to go against the law and the NYPD if she wanted to, so she could be useful.
And who wouldn't want to be friends with two beauties that are living in such a nice ho?

'Yo, system. You got another mission for or anything like that?'
[Not right now. The system believes the host's priority should be to recover and you will receive a new mission soon.]
I was slightly disappointed, but I knew the system was right and in the state I was in, anyone would be able to beat my ass.
Unlocking my phone, which was barely usable with how shattered the screen was, I navigated to my call log and saw all the missed calls from my mother.
I had an old phone that could hardly be called a smartphone, but it did the job and allowed to call my mother, who was my only contact.
Calling her, she answered quickly and didn't sound worried, like I thought she would.
"How did your interview go, Xavier...? Did you- smash it?" she asked, trying to tease and assuming that I had been with a girl.
"It's not what you think. I am just friends with the girl and my phone broke, so I couldn't call you to let you know that I would be staying around hers for a few days. Sorry for worrying you."
"Don't worry about it. Just enjoy yourself. I was thinking about reopening the stall anyway and..."
"No. Just forget about the stall and working. I will be back tomorrow, and I already told you, I will work, so don't worry about anything."
"Are you sure? I still want you to study..."
"I will go back to high school, but let earn so money first."
"Promise."
"Okay, I promise."
"Great, then I will leave you to enjoy yourself with your 'friend', and I am going to et so old friends myself as well."
"Okay mother, just be careful and call if anything happens or you need anything."
"I will. See you tomorrow."
Ending the call, although there was a big misunderstanding, she seed to be taking everything well and was even going out with so friends.
That was all that mattered, and she deserved to relax and enjoy herself.
She should also have enough money for living costs and to go out, so I didn't have to worry about that, but our rent was due at the end of the month and I would have to cover it.
So earning money was at the forefront of my mind.
But for the ti being, I was a sitting duck.
