David exchanged a glance with Hoenhem, who nodded, and stood at the center of the crossroads, releasing a Fireball Technique down each of the three paths.

Three orange-red fla balls slowly flew in different directions,

colliding with objects almost simultaneously, exploding, and then extinguishing.

The objects the fireballs hit were also wooden doors, similar in structure to the ones the players had seen before, but slightly smaller in size.

The three wooden doors did not close completely, and opened when the fireballs hit them, revealing three large rooms.

The left one was a forest (all the plants were dead, and the ceiling was covered with a layer of withered moss, which might have had luminescent functions after examination),

the center one was an Oriental garden with a pool,

and the right one was a dieval village.

Apart from differences in size and shape, the rooms all had dried bloodstains and combat marks on the floor, walls, and ceiling,

and on the walls opposite the entrances, there were also three wooden doors, leading to three more different rooms after being pushed open.

"The entire Underground Palace is made up of nurous different rooms, each containing monsters and rewards. The Hero Team needs to clear them room by room, find the task goal in the end, gain the reward, and exit the Underground Palace.

To allow replayability, both the Underground Palace and each room will reset every 24 hours, rearranging the rooms and monsters."

Returning to the crossroads, David whispered, "In a video ga, this might be a fairly standard dungeon design.

But in reality... it's terrifying."

"To achieve a complete reset over such a large scale, the energy required would be astronomical."

Hoenhem said calmly, "Unless there's a masterfully crafted, highly energy-efficient array maintaining the operation."

"But that array should have been scrapped a long ti ago."

Li Ang pushed open the central wooden door and entered the Oriental garden room with the pool.

The water at the edge of the garden hadn't flowed for who knows how long, covered with a layer of green algae and so viscous debris. Through the murky water, stones and bits of wood could be seen settled below the surface.

"The sll of corpses is ahead."

Li Ang retracted his fingers from the water's surface and stood up, heading toward the wooden door at the far end of the Oriental garden room.

The group passed through several rooms, and the putrid sll grew stronger as they progressed,

until they pushed open a wooden door left ajar, finally discovering the source of the stench.

This was a spacious room with walls scarred by the densest beast claw marks they'd seen, almost as if the walls had been drilled through.

In the center of the room stood a peculiarly shaped hill—a mound surrounded by a ring of turquoise water, with its surface extending nurous tufts of fuzz.

Wait, those weren't tufts.

Hoenhem imdiately halted the Fireball Technique, raising his arm abruptly to stop Ding Zhensi from using a spotlight to illuminate the hill ahead.

[Group Dim Vision]: Doubled field of vision in dim environnts.

[Group Night Vision Technique]: Enhances visual capability in dark environnts.

Hoenhem drank a magic potion, and quietly cast two layers of buff magic on everyone,

despite the fact that such group buff spells consud substantial power in low-magic environnts and greatly reduced the duration and effect, it was enough for the players to see the true shape of the hill.

It was a hill ford from a pile of mass biological remains,

with scattered materials discernible to the players, barely identifying so of the remains belonging to goblins, two-headed ogres, trolls, jackaln, and other typical fantasy world creatures,

while other remains appeared as if they were pulled from video gas like "Serious Sam" or "Dead Space
