Chapter 350: Chapter 349: City

"This Magic Mirror Fragnt..." John Joyce muttered, hesitantly lifting his head. He projected the item’s detailed description into the air as a hologram for his teammates to see. "It doesn’t seem to have the ability to control or influence the mind. According to this description, there are a total of six Mirror Fragnts, all located within the Rune Kingdom. That ans we don’t need to travel far to collect them all."

"Hmm?" Li Ang raised an eyebrow. "Is there a problem with the statue? Or does the statue, combined with the Mirror Fragnt, produce a Special Effect?"

Julia spoke softly, "The Mirror Fragnt we obtained is numbered ⑥. We don’t currently know what this number signifies—whether it’s a aningless random distribution or if they’re classified automatically based on the order we acquire them. Furthermore, what differences are there between Mirror Fragnts with different numbers?"

Smoker hesitated and said, "The System description states that collecting more Mirror Fragnts will unlock additional Special Effects. Mirror Fragnt ⑥, which we obtained, happens to have the ability to sense other fragnts. I believe the System might have deliberately set our initial teleportation location to a forest considerably close to Halin Town."

Li Ang nodded, pondering. "Is this an indirect hint about the quest information?"

Since the Mirror Fragnt couldn’t be stored in a bag, it’s very likely that the Snow Queen isn’t as the lumberjack described—almost omniscient and omnipotent within the kingdoms. Otherwise, she could easily use the Mirror Fragnt to lock onto the players’ positions and locate these suspicious outsiders who are continuously collecting Magic Mirrors. Judging by her performance in fairy tales, players who encounter the Snow Queen prematurely would probably die miserably. So why bother teleporting here at all? Might as well find a place and bury ourselves. It’s more probable that the Snow Queen is unable to locate the Magic Mirrors. Perhaps she originally couldn’t, or perhaps her current state is poor—after all, according to the lumberjack, she hasn’t left her palace or shown herself to the public for a very long ti.

Li Ang thought for a mont, then said to John Joyce, "Try using a little force to test how durable the Magic Mirror Fragnt is."

"Sure." John instantly understood the implication. He carefully pinched the corner of the mirror and discovered the fragnt was almost indestructible. Even as he gradually increased the force, he couldn’t make the mirror deform in any way.

"This thing is very hard." John Joyce shook his head. "I suspect this durability is inherent to the Magic Mirror, not an attribute added by the System. This does make up for the fact that it can’t be placed in a bag and has to be carried."

He could fully understand the reason behind the System’s setting. If players could store the Magic Mirror in their bags, then if the player in the team who got the Mirror Fragnt refused to cooperate, placing it in their bag and refusing to take it out, the others would never be able to complete the quest. Since it could only be kept in the external world, it also made sense for the fragnts to possess an indestructible property. Otherwise, if a slight collision shattered the mirror into pieces, how could players continue the quest?

These implicit settings by the System were actually indirect quest hints. The players present were no novices, and after a little analysis, they instantly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much more at ease.

"Since it’s very likely that the Snow Queen isn’t omnipotent, that gives us significantly more room to maneuver." Li Ang rubbed his hands together and said to John Joyce, "You try it—the ’perception of other fragnts’ Special Effect from the item description."

"Okay." John Joyce closed his eyes, held his breath, focused his mind, grasping the fragnt tightly in his palm, his lips pressed firmly together.

After a mont, the Mirror Fragnt lit up, projecting a 3D image resembling a satellite map from its surface. It clearly depicted a vast expanse of land, with a total of six points of light scattered across it.

Soon, as the 3D projection gradually faded, John Joyce let out a sigh of relief and said to the others, "Just a tiny bit of Spiritual Power infused into the mirror can reveal the map. The consumption is negligible for high-level players. And it seems there’s no cooldown ti; it can be used at any mont."

He dangled the fragnt, scratched his head, and said, "According to the markings on that satellite map, all Mirror Fragnts seem to be placed inside churches in the major towns of the Rune Kingdom. This ans we might have to personally visit all these towns and enter the churches to retrieve the fragnts."

"That might not be easy." Julia frowned deeply. "Based on the various murals inside the churches and information revealed through interactions with the people of this world, this fairy tale-inspired script universe is likely filled with all sorts of abnormal creatures and extraordinary powers—Jackaln, trolls, gryphons, ogres, and the like. And these demons, who should have oppressed humankind during the Dark Era, now seem to have been completely subdued by humans and can even be ’dosticated.’ Aside from the Snow Queen’s Cataclysmic Level power, the hidden forces possessed by the human duchies are probably not to be underestimated either."

Humans, who managed to suppress demons during the Dark Era and even build a flourishing civilization, are definitely not weak and likely possess extraordinary powers. Moreover, as the ruler of this land, the Snow Queen’s churches would naturally be revered and protected. Setting aside a remote small town like Halin Town for the mont, the churches located in large cities are probably guarded by even stronger security forces.

Although the players were adept in stealth and combat, they weren’t confident enough to forcibly seize the Mirror Fragnts from the various kingdoms, whose full capabilities they didn’t understand.

"We should plan for the long term." Li Ang said, "We have to visit each city. This ans the System has actually given us a generous amount of implicit ti to complete the task, so there’s no need to rush things in just a day or two."

"Hmm." John Joyce nodded and hesitated before saying to Li Ang, "Um, do you want

to give you the fragnt? It feels like it would be safer with you."

He actually wanted to keep it himself, but that yellow Stand—the one that had just dangled Bob in the air and hamred him—was now floating nearby, gazing at him with an indifferent expression. John strongly suspected that if he tried to pocket the mirror, the Stand wouldn’t hesitate to rush over, grab him by the ankles, and swing him around like a teor Hamr.

"Hehe." Li Ang smiled amicably. "No worries, you keep it. After all, we are a team united by friendship, and it’s important to trust each other, right?"

Trust you, my ass! John scread internally as he glanced at Bob, who had just eaten a worm.
