【 DESCENT OF MYTHICAL BEINGS 】

The impact traveling up her lance felt incredibly real, and the cries and screams around her were sharp and chilling.

Nurous Orc Warriors were either skewered and thrown aside or trampled by the charging Crypt Spiders.

At that mont, even the battlefield’s background music reached a dramatic crescendo.

With the intense music pounding in her ears and the visceral jolt of impact surging through her arms and body, Jasmine hadn’t expected cavalry charges to feel this thrilling, to be this exhilarating!

Only now did she truly understand why, even when so players were warned of the high mortality rate when organizing the heavy cavalry unit, there had still been a massive influx of volunteers.

So many in fact that only the best were selected in the end.

Because… it really was that satisfying!

The sheer force of this crushing charge, the devastating collision—it all made Jasmine feel invincible.

At the sa ti, her ga interface began to wildly flash with notifications—each one marking the death of a Orc directly slain by her charge, and the EXP kept rolling in.

And not just her own screen either as the party interface of the entire cavalry squad was also flooded with endless kill ssages.

Each line was another Orc warrior fallen.

Even without turning around, Jasmine could easily imagine the magnificent scene unfolding behind her, just from the sound of chaotic shrieks and thundering collisions echoing from all directions.

She knew, then and there their charge had succeeded.

Of course, these thoughts flashed by in just an instant. Most of her focus was still locked onto the charge itself.

Boosted by magic and a running start, Jasmine’s speed had reached astonishing levels. Combined with her full heavy armor and the Crypt Spider’s tallic shell, the montum she carried was overwhelming.

Faced with such raw force, and lacking both magical support and adequate strength, the Orcs in contrast stood no chance at all.

Honestly speaking, they were nothing more than lambs to the slaughter.

Especially once their heavily armored Orc vanguard had been smashed apart.

Their next line of defense only consisted of Orc archers.

They wore no armor as fine as the frontline soldiers—many didn’t even have shields. Once the front line crumbled, they were the next to fall.

Despite breaking through the front ranks, Jasmine’s speed barely dropped.

With her lance in hand, she crashed into the enemy ranks like a hawk diving into a flock of chickens—Devastating and unstoppable.

Her speed dipped slightly, but the charge sohow felt even smoother.

If the earlier Orcs felt like paper targets, then these archers felt like soap bubbles, bursting the mont she touched them.

Her notification screen lit up even more furiously now.

And her experience bar?

It skyrocketed without her realizing—until it hit full bar.

Finally, she could level up.

Originally, Jasmine had estimated that she needed at least another three to five days but seeing her experience bar filled just like that, her heart surged with joy.

After the brutal battles across the Desert of Death and even soloing an interdiate Silver-ranked veteran Orc, she had already reached level 49.

One more level, and she would beco the second player on the entire server—after Boxlunch—to reach the Silver level cap.

And the first to do so as a Warrior-class player.

God, it felt so good…

Even soone as introverted as Jasmine couldn’t help but shout with excitent.

That is, until—she charged headlong into a Behemoth Beast.

If there was anything in the Orcs’ army that could pose a real threat to heavy cavalry, it was monsters like this.

Before the charge began, their battle plan had been clear:

That is, to avoid these Behemoths at all costs.

But… reality rarely cooperates with ideal strategy.

Once the actual charge began, Jasmine quickly realized it was pretty impossible to avoid them.

After all, her cavalry squad could only sprint in a straight line and thus, changing direction wasn’t an option—or at least not drastically.

Any sharp turn would severely cut their speed, and even if she did avoid these Behemoth, she’d likely be sward by Orcs imdiately after.

And that would an certain death.

Not every part of the battlefield had a Behemoth stationed, so really… she’d just been unlucky this ti.

“Crap, there’s a Behemoth ahead! Jasmine, watch out!”

Voices cried out behind her from fellow squadmates.

But Jasmine was far calr than they expected.

She could sense it—the Behemoth, while intimidating in appearance, didn’t feel as threatening. Even without using her appraisal skill, Jasmine could tell its level was likely lower than hers.

Still, a lower-level Behemoth was still a Silver-rank monster.

She glanced at her status window… and smiled.

“I’ll take care of this big guy,” she said.

As she spoke, a golden light radiated from her.

She had leveled up to 50 which was the peak of Lower Silver-rank.

Jasmine released the slightly warped lance from her grip and drew the weapon strapped to her back—the Blade of Atonent.

Like many players, she had ditched her usual armor loadout for this charge, but not her primary weapon.

This blade was soul-bound, thus it could only be wielded by her, and only she could unlock its full power.

Moreover, she wasn’t afraid of losing it upon death as it would always find its way back to her.

As the blade slid into her palm, Jasmine felt her fighting spirit ignite and burn even hotter.

She lightly brushed her hand along the blade’s edge and assud a stance. Silver light began to coalesce around her.

And then—an overwhelming, terrifying aura began to rise from her.

The players behind her felt their hearts skip a beat.

“Holy crap! Boss Jasmine’s going for her ultimate skill? Boss won’t that leave you exhausted afterwards?”

But Jasmine only smiled confidently and replied,

“Cover from the front.”

Then, she nudged the Crypt Spider beneath her and leapt forward, launching herself straight at the Behemoth.

And as she soared, that monstrous creature seed… hesitant, as if it too could feel the power swelling within her.

However, the mont the small elf charged toward it, the Behemoth’s frenzied nature quickly overpowered its reason.

With a thunderous roar, it beat its chest and lunged forward.

The two clashed in an instant.

The next second, a burst of silver starlight engulfed everything.

And from within that starlight ca a blood-curdling scream…

Upon hearing the scream, the players’ eyes lit up and they breathed a collective sigh of relief.

It was the roar of the Behemoth.

As the light slowly faded, the players saw Jasmine standing atop the Behemoth’s massive ten-ter-tall head.

A grueso, cross-shaped gash had been carved into the beast’s neck, before crimson blood spurted forth like a fountain from its wounds.

It was the signature move of warriors, the [Star-Moon Cross Slash]

This skill, which Jasmine once used to instantly slay a Silver-rank elderly Orc priest, had beco even more terrifying after she acquired the Blade of Atonent.

Under the stunned gazes of the players, the monstrous Silver-rank Behemoth slowly collapsed to the ground…

“What the hell… was that a one-shot kill?!”

“What a legendary move! How aweso!”

“She’s a true Valkyrie! No doubt about it!”

Amid the cheers and celebration, Jasmine leapt gracefully from the Behemoth’s body.

She landed behind one of the players, mounting the sa Crypt spider as him.

She had no choice as her own spider had already rushed off into the battlefield, and there was no way to halt its montum in the thick of combat.

Besides, she had lost her lance, and most of her strength had been drained by unleashing her ultimate skill. She was no longer suited to lead the charge.

Whilst gasping for breath, she spoke:

“It was just luck. This Behemoth was on the weaker side. If it had been a stronger one, things wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.”

“Even so, that was incredible! You’re amazing, boss!”

The player in front of her praised.

Jasmine curled her lips into a slight smile but quickly suppressed it. Clearing her throat, she said:

“Mark the coordinates. Once the battle’s over, we’ll co back and loot its body.”

She had no intention of abandoning the Behemoth’s corpse as it was a veritable treasure trove.

The entire fight had unfolded in re seconds—from her leap, to the kill, to her return.

With the Behemoth slain, Jasmine’s heavy cavalry unit charged forward once more.

From that point onward, the battle beca noticeably smoother.

The chaos from the frontlines had already begun to ripple backward. The rear ranks of the Orcs were starting to show signs of unrest. Even with the horns blaring repeatedly, their formations were far less disciplined than at the start.

Moreover, many Orcs had begun to instinctively shy away, further disrupting their already loose formations. At that point, they had no hope of stopping the heavy cavalry players.

Riding behind her teammate, Jasmine soon broke through the Orc ranks alongside the others.

Their charge was a complete success.

Only then did Jasmine have a mont to glance back at the battlefield—and that single glance stunned her.

Chaos.

The Orc formation had completely collapsed.

All she could see were scattered weapons, pools of blood, and an endless sea of confusion…

Under the sunlight, dust and sand swirled. It was a scene both brutal and awe-inspiring.

Of course, the heavy cavalry also paid a price. A quick glance at her party interface revealed that a quarter of her unit mbers had already fallen.

Elsewhere, the losses among the other heavy cavalry units seed even worse.

But it was enough.

Because Jasmine could now hear the deafening roars of battle behind her.

Those were the cries of the players…

And at the sa ti, Li Mu’s nearly hoarse, furious voice rang out through the battlefield channel.

He was directing their main force.

The core infantry players had finally engaged the Orcs.

“Jasmine, the commander’s calling for us to regroup for a second charge. Are you in?”

One of her teammates called out excitedly.

Jasmine checked her status and shook her head:

“I’m sitting this one out. I’ve lost my lance and I’m not in good shape. You guys go instead. I’ll do my own thing.”

With that, she dismounted the crypt spider.

The others gave her a nod before turning and reforming their lines for a second flanking charge.

anwhile, Jasmine withdrew from the frontlines, took out so stamina potions, and began recovering.

At the sa ti, she logged into the video network via the ga system and pulled up the livestreams. Eventually, she chose Li Mu’s stream.

Unlike the others, Li Mu was soaring high above the battlefield on the back of his dragon, overseeing the entire conflict from the rear.

From his elevated and secure vantage point, he could clearly observe the tide of battle.

And right now, the battle had descended into total chaos.

The Orc army, thrown into disarray by the cavalry’s charge, could no longer resist the morale-fueled tide of players. Despite their superior numbers, the Orcs were being pushed back like a retreating wave.

Victory… seed all but certain.

But at that very mont, Jasmine suddenly felt a powerful aura surge from the Orcs’ left flank!

Her heart skipped a beat as she turned to look—only to see a blinding silver beam shooting outward.

It was an arrow gleaming with holy light. Even from a great distance, Jasmine could sense the terrifying power radiating from it.

This was no re golden-rank attack—perhaps not even at the legendary-rank, since the aura it exuded was far more dreadful than what she had felt from Spider Queen, Rose.

This…

This clearly was the power of a Demigod!

So the mythical experts among the orcs had finally made their move…

And their target was none other than Li Mu, who’s soaring high above the battlefield!

“Damn it!”

Her heart clenched.

But at that very mont, a shadowy claw-shaped energy—glowing with deep, mysterious brilliance—shot up from the players’ rear lines. It collided head-on with the silver arrow in the sky.

A dazzling explosion of light blood in the heavens like a firework, then slowly dissipated.

Next ca a deep, mocking voice that echoed across the battlefield:

“Is this what the totem guardians of the God of Winter and Hunt have beco? Using a demigod’s strength to ambush re mortals?”

“Hmph.”

A cold snort answered from within the orc ranks.

Monts later, Jasmine saw a female orc slowly rise into the air. She wore a cloak of feathers, tribal markings painted across her face, and a silver radiance shimred around her body.

Imdiately at that point, a wave of imnse pressure swept across the battlefield.

Players in the midst of battle montarily froze.

A Totem Guardian.

It was definitely a demigod Totem Guardian!

With the demigod Volker having appeared before, players were now familiar with the presence such beings gave off.

The mont the female orc appeared, her identity was imdiately made clear to all.

“So it’s Lady Nalan,” the aged voice spoke again, this ti with a trace of surprise. “I know you—you were once the ruler of the Desert of Death. I didn’t expect you to ascend to beco a demigod.”

Then ca a sigh:

“Unfortunately… you’re still too weak and no match for .”

As players watched, eyes filled with confusion, shock, realization, and hope, another imposing figure slowly rose into the sky from the players’ rear lines.

A massive black wolf, wreathed in ghostly blue flas, its presence majestic and terrifying.

It was Demon Wolf, Fenrir.

Cheers erupted from the players on the ground.

“Holy crap! It’s Fenrir!”

“So that’s the reinforcents Big Sister had ntioned! It’s really him!”

“Haha! Now we’ve got this in the bag!”

The veterans who had fought in the Underground War shouted excitedly.

So newer players, however, we’re left confused:

“Who’s Fenrir?”

“What a beautiful wolf…”

Most of them were from the public beta.

But explanations ca quickly from the veterans:

“Fenrir is the Goddess of Death’s magical companion—a seasoned demigod who once chased a true god across the battlefield! A true monster—I an, a monster demigod!”

“A monster dog? You’re dead for sure! If Fenrir hears you, man, you might end up the next Demacia!”

“Hahaha!”

As the old players explained, Fenrir scanned the battlefield and spoke in a deep voice:

“No more hiding. The rest of you Totem Guardians—co forth. In front of this Lord Fenrir, your presence cannot be concealed.”

At his words, the female orc’s expression grew solemn.

Then, from the orc side, nine more figures slowly rose into the sky.

Leading them was an orc draped in a feathered mage robe, holding a staff adorned with a skull.

“Nors?”

Fenrir raised a brow in a human-like gesture.

Looking over the group, he sighed:

“I didn’t expect the God of Winter and Hunt to deploy all of you… Two demigods and eight legendarys.”

Then, he shook his head:

“Still, not enough.”

As a peak demigod capable of battling a true god, Fenrir had every right to speak with such confidence.

But just as he finished speaking, two eerie chuckles echoed across the battlefield.

“Then… how about with us?”

Black feathers drifted from the sky, gradually forming the shape of a handso, otherworldly young man along with the six pairs of massive black wings stretched from his back.

It was the Fallen Angel, Luria.

On the other side, ghostly wails echoed as countless serpent shadows slithered through the air. Monts later, they converged into the form of a seductive, half-human, half-snake woman exuding dark, twisted energy.

Now it was, the Queen of Agony, Alyssa.

These two evil demigods, who had once taken part in the siege against Fenrir during the underground war, had returned once more.
