As teacher Dannan said, every eye in the room gathered into a twin door connected with its small box room made from white marble, which contrasted with the black floor.
The student in front exchanged glances, wondering what the thing was.
Jin, who stood in the back, looked ahead. His jade Eyes skill flashed, and he saw a thick, dark aura leaking from the gap between the doors.
It was miasma, the accumulation of grudges of years from a monster that got killed.
But soon, his brows knitted. He found the situation strange. The boy rubbed his chin, trying to dig into his mories.
A dungeon was indeed born from miasma, but compared to the one he visited, it does not have this much grudge leaking out until the entrance door unless sothing big happens.
The dungeon in front of him kept leaking miasma, which flooded the entire temple, turning it into a gloomy place with an eerie atmosphere.
Jin glared at the entrance intently before exhaling to shake the disturbance in his mind. ’I hope nothing bad happened. ’
His brows twitched after he heard many footsteps echo from behind. Glancing at the source, he saw many students from other classes, all freshn, approaching his side.
From the group, two distinctive figures of Demi-Human from the East, Kaede and Kurobe, walked in front.
Their ears twitched, and their tail sprang up, as they noticed that Jin was looking at their sides.
Kurobe, as cheerful as he is, waved his hand with a smile. On the exact opposite, his sister Kaede ignored everyone’s stares.
She detached from the group and walked toward him. Her classmate followed Kaede’s retreating figure with eyes bulging in shock.
"It’s been a while, Jin".
Kaede stood close before Jin, her nose twitched several tis until she nodded off and stepped back a little.
"Yeah, it’s been a while, Kusanagi".
Her expression was flat as usual, but she was easy to figure out because of her swaying tail.
"Big sis, do you rember what teacher Elna said in the classroom?".
Kurobe appeared from behind, grasping the blank girl’s shoulder with a gentle pull.
"Hm, what is it?".
Kaede tilted her head, unable to comprehend her little brother’s words.
"Geez, Big sis, let’s go, teacher Elena was fuming, look".
Not only Kaede but Jin also shifted in a pointed direction. He saw a familiar female teacher who argued with Dannan during the entrance exam.
’So, she was their horoom teacher’. Looking at her expression, she was probably mad because Kaede was detached from the lines and didn’t inform the teacher beforehand.
The cat girl walked toward Teacher Elna. Kurobe gave Jin a brief nod before following behind.
From where he stood. Jin witnessed teacher Elna pinching Kaede on her cheek. Their interaction incited laughter throughout the Beta Class.
Jin was taken aback. Despite having twice as many students, the atmosphere and camaraderie within the class were wholly united.
It was starkly different from his class.
"Man, I wish I could go into that class". Jin’s calm voice sank as he compared the unity of the class he attended.
"Oh no, you don’t".
From out of nowhere, Dannan retorted to Jin’s wishful thinking. He stood next to Jin with his arms crossed on his chest.
The man and Elna briefly t eyes before the woman walked closer as her student followed behind.
"I hope you prepare enough with this, Dannan".
Elna shot a glare at him, but the man shrugged her complaint and nodded his head confidently.
"Don’t worry, everything was prepared".
"Alright, I’ll believe in you".
Another crowd surged from the entrance, turning Jin’s attention toward them.
"Now every class has gathered, what’s next?".
Dannan looked at the approaching male teacher. He was a handso man in his early thirties with ssy dark blue hair and pale skin.
"Haa, haa, I’m sorry for being late." The teacher gasped for breath, and sweat trickled down his forehead.
"It’s okay, let’s start the discussion". Dannan grouped with other teachers and discussed the matter in hushed voices.
Jin watched them huddle together in the distance and decided to do the sa with his group.
He pulled Silvia and Iris, who stood in front, and began to discuss in a hushed voice.
This was just sharing information, especially for Lucya, who had no experience diving into it, much less killing a monster.
As a living princess, Lucya possessed only talent and grit to make an effort.
"Got it, so I have to be careful about picking what spells I should use when exploring inside". Lucya nodded.
"True, but let’s not forget about the terrain, too".
Iris said. She was the most knowledgeable person in the group, so Lucya, Silvia, and Jin carefully listened to her various experiences.
The group continued to discuss until Dannan’s group returned and told the students what they had discussed.
"We decided that you guys would make a team of five. Alpha-Class, picked two students from Beta and Oga".
A wave of murmurs echoed within the room as the students exchanged looks with each other.
Jin, Silvia and the others in Alpha-Class briefly glanced at the other students. They could see a bright, expectant gaze piercing their consciousness.
They were eager to be picked by their idols, especially the trio Silvia, Iris, and Lucya. So gazed at Lily with pink emotion, and Tania scoffed at their goofy expressions.
Jin rubbed his chin and observed the candidates who took his fancy. ’First must be Kaede, and Kurobe, as for the other two’.
Without saying anything, Jin stepped forward. His steps were firm, echoing with purpose as he approached the Beta class where Kaede and Kurobe watched him with wide eyes.
"Kaede, Kurobe, are you coming with ?".
The two Demi-humans stared at Jin’s expression before Kurobe nodded furiously.
"Oh, thank you, Jin". The cat boy grasped Jin’s left hand and shook it up and down vigorously.
Jin turned to Kaede. She still had that unreadable expression, but the subtle movent from her tail and ears proved just how elated she was to be chosen by Jin.
He shifted his attention toward the other class.
"Is there soone who can use magic here? A spear user or shield?".
"Here I am, a spear user".
A black-haired boy tied into a ponytail stepped forward. He was 175 cm tall, the sa as Jin.
"I’m a shield user".
Another boy appeared. He had light brown short hair and was a bit shorter than the others, about 165cm. But Jin felt thankful for his effort to move forward and be with his team.
"Thank you for answering my request, let’s gather here". Jin led his group to a faraway place and started to brief his strategy for dealing with the dungeon exploring.
After that, Silvia, Iris and Lucya also began to choose their own group, and weirdly, their group was all girls.
The boy observed their group, but internally, Jin patted his chest in relief, feeling thankful that the girls decided to pick girls. ’Hehe, I should have prepared so gifts for them later’.
Dannan stepped forward, his sharp eyes scanning the students’ groups. "Good. It seems you guys are ready to explore".
Watching all the students nod their heads, Dannan glanced at the other two teachers as they prepared to open the twin doors.
"Open it".
The two teachers followed his command and pulled the twin door open.
Jin and his group, standing near it, gulped their saliva as they felt the tension rise.
The door creaked gently, inside was a stair that went way down, dark and seemingly endless.
A gust of cold wind billowed, caressing their skin in a light shiver. The dungeon entrance spilled an earthy sll, coupled with sothing foul laced with a tallic tang that crumpled his expression.
"Steel yourselves, we’re going in".
