"That golden dragon is so cool. George, maybe you can take it as a pet. Let’s go check it out," Liam said excitedly.
At that mont, many strong people in Aurion City were drawn to the scene. They flew out of the city and rushed toward the golden Celestial Serpent shadow in the sky.
Lily stared at the golden dragon in the air and felt a strange familiarity. She gasped, "George, is that the golden little dragon?"
George nodded, sighing in his heart.
He was surprised that the Golden Fla Dragon had broken into SSS tier, but the commotion it caused was too big. The area around his villa would definitely not be peaceful anymore.
He looked at Anna and asked, "Anna, when are you leaving?"
Anna also guessed that this Golden Fla Dragon was connected to him. She quickly said, "We’ve already packed everything. We’re ready to go anyti."
"Then let’s go now," George had already confird he was accepted into the Obsidian Academy. With the Golden Fla Dragon causing such a big scene, he didn’t want to stay in Aurion City any longer. He didn’t want to bring trouble.
It was a pity about the villa. He had just bought it two months ago and hadn’t even lived there for a few days.
Maybe he could co back to Aurion City to retire in the future.
George used his contract to contact Constantine and confird that everyone’s injuries had healed enough. He told him to take them into the Abyss Realm, to avoid being discovered.
"So soon?" Lily looked confused. "I need to go back and tell my father and pack so things. This is the first ti I’ve ever left Aurion City."
"Are you coming with us too?" George asked, confused.
"Yeah," Lily nodded. "It’s not safe from Aurion City to the Sovereign City. Being with you makes my father feel safer."
Liam also said, "George, I also need to go back and pack."
"Okay, et at the eastern gate in half an hour," George said.
They all nodded and left imdiately.
George and Lily went with Anna directly to the eastern gate.
The city was in chaos. Many strong people had been attracted by the golden Celestial Serpent shadow and were rushing toward George’s villa.
Luckily, Constantine and the others had already entered the Abyss Realm.
Not long after, a car arrived. The leader was Carol.
"Anna, Mr. George, it’s been a while," Carol jumped out of the car and greeted them.
She was happy to see George again, but when she saw Lilia standing nearby, she was instantly shocked. She felt a little ashad of herself.
Maybe George, the genius, could only be matched by a girl as beautiful as Lilia.
"Good to see you again," George didn’t notice her expression change, and he smiled and nodded.
Anna checked the car and asked, "Did we miss anything?"
The car was mostly loaded with materials and docunts from the Class Changer Association.
"I’ve checked everything carefully. Nothing is missing," Carol said seriously.
Anna nodded. She knew this girl was reliable and careful. That was why she had brought her to the Sovereign City.
Less than half an hour later, Liam and Lily arrived one after another. Both ca alone, and their families didn’t send any strong guards to protect them.
"Everyone is here. Let’s go," Anna arranged a luxury business car for them and left imdiately.
It was already afternoon, and ti was tight. If the trip went smoothly, they could reach the next city before dark, so they wouldn’t have to spend the night in the wild.
The car sped down the bumpy road. With Anna’s arrangent, the journey was relatively smooth. They t so monsters along the way, but they were not strong. The traders dealt with them easily.
Seven days later, the caravan had reached the area of the Sovereign City.
"Finally back," Liam said, tiredly stretching his body. The whole trip had almost driven him crazy.
"Is this the Sovereign City?" Lily leaned against the car window, looking at the huge and long walls in the distance, and asked in surprise.
She had never seen such tall walls before.
The roads here were wide and flat, well connected. The caravan no longer felt as rough as before.
Liam said, "This is nothing. What you’re seeing now is just the outer city. Rest today, and I’ll show you around tomorrow."
"Outer city? Inner city?" George asked in surprise.
He knew about inner cities. So important or dangerous cities had them.
George looked at the long walls stretching into the distance. He couldn’t see the end. It must be at least ten kiloters long. If this was an inner city, the cost of building it must be unimaginable.
"The Sovereign City is far more complicated than you think," Liam said without saying more. He looked at the empty streets, his brows furrowed. "Strange, why are there no people on the road today?"
Normally, even at night, the main roads would be full of traffic and people.
But it was now afternoon, and the adventurers who went out should have returned to the Sovereign City by now. There shouldn’t be no one at all.
Had sothing happened to the Sovereign City?
Liam felt a little uneasy in his heart.
Soon, the caravan reached the city gate. A lot of adventurers had gathered there, making a lot of noise.
But the main gate was closed, with roadblocks set up. Only a side gate was open. A group of fully ard soldiers stood in front, watching the crowd coldly.
"Stop! Where are you from?" As the caravan got close, several soldiers stopped them. The leader looked at George and the others, his expression unkind.
"Sir, we’re from Aurion City. We’re coming to the Sovereign City to do business," Anna jumped off the car and quietly handed the man a few coins.
But the soldier dodged quickly and coldly said, "Have you been outside the city?"
These weren’t ordinary soldiers!
Anna’s expression beca more serious. She answered honestly, "We’re from outside, so we had to go through the wild."
"Then you can’t enter the city. If you insist, you’ll have to be locked up in jail for a day," the soldier ordered, telling the caravan to park on the side of the road.
"Sir, can I ask what’s going on?" Anna asked in confusion.
"Can’t tell you. It’s a secret," the leader soldier said coldly and turned to leave.
"Wait, can I know?" Liam jumped off the car and stopped the man.
"Ah? Mr. Kent!" The soldier clearly recognized Liam. He quickly gave a military salute and looked at George and the others with curiosity. "Mr. Kent, why are you with these people?"
"Stop talking. What’s going on here?" Liam asked impatiently.
The soldier hesitated for a mont before speaking. "Recently, a lot of adventurers who went out have gone crazy after coming back. They attack and kill people at night. A lot of people have died in the Sovereign City these days. The city sent people to investigate, but there’s no result yet. So they closed the city and stopped people from going in or out."
"Did sothing like that happen?" Liam couldn’t believe it. He had only been away from the Sovereign City for a few days, and now this big problem had already happened.
He continued, "We all ca from Aurion City. We didn’t do anything wrong. Can’t you let us in?"
The soldier said seriously, "Mr. Kent, don’t make this hard for us. If you really want to get in, I can give you a better cell."
"What did you say?" Liam was angry. This ti, he had brought George and Lily into the Obsidian Academy. That was a big deal. Now they wanted to put him in a jail?
The soldier didn’t move. "That’s the order from above. Mr. Kent, if you’re not happy, you can ask your superiors. If you get a command, I’ll let you in right away."
"You!" Liam was frustrated. His status was high, but this was too big to act recklessly.
He glared at the soldier, then ca to George and the others and explained quickly. "These people are from the White Tiger Legion. It seems sothing big really did happen in the city. Adventurers who went out might have been infected. They go crazy at night. Right now, we’re all suspects. We can either stay outside, or if we go in, we’ll be locked up for a night."
"Why do we have to be locked up for a night?" George asked with curiosity.
Liam answered, "According to the soldier, the infected people only show symptoms at night. If they don’t act up after one night, they’re not infected."
"We should go in. Even if we get locked up, it’s safer than staying out here," Anna said, scared. She looked at the crowd near the gate. There were at least three thousand people there.
And this isn’t Aurion City. People who can get a residence permit in the Sovereign City are all strong people. There were many warriors over level 40 in the crowd. Aside from George and Lilia, the rest of them couldn’t match them.
"Okay, I’ll arrange this," Liam nodded. He also thought it was safer to get into the city, even if they ended up in a jail.
He called the soldier again and told him what he wanted.
This ti, the soldier didn’t make things hard for them. He just said the caravan couldn’t enter the city. They had to stay outside.
They hadn’t figured out exactly what caused the adventurers to go crazy. They weren’t sure if the car had an infection source.
After the man promised to take care of the caravan’s goods, the group finally entered the city with a group of soldiers protecting them.
Saying it was protection was just a way to put it. In reality, the soldiers were watching them to stop them from running away.
Sure enough, the Sovereign City was a huge inner city.
After passing through the first gate, another taller wall appeared. There were soldiers stationed there.
George hadn’t even had a chance to look around when he was taken into a dungeon.
They hadn’t even entered the city!
The dungeon was dark and wet, filled with a bad sll of rot.
But George had been exploring in the wild for a long ti. This kind of environnt didn’t bother him much.
"This is the special treatnt you said?" Liam wasn’t happy. He had never been in a jail his whole life.
The soldier said carefully, "Mr. Kent, just put up with it for one night. This is actually a privilege. You each get your own cell. Otherwise, you’d be all put into one big room."
"Damn! Get us sothing to eat. Don’t just give us jail food," Liam said angrily.
They had not eaten anything for a whole day to get to the Sovereign City quickly. They were all starving.
