Being able to make my own barbecue at ho was more fun than I imagined.
I was the master of the grill, the at would be done to my liking, there was no one to complain about how I was doing it, if I made a mistake there would be no one to make fun of it.
It was a new and interesting experience.
While I roasted the at, I took out my bottle of whiskey and made myself a very small glass, not wanting to get drunk, and put on so fun music.
The music of this world followed a different developnt path from the other world.
While rock was a sensation in the 60s in my other world, in this world rock was never a big thing, with pop dominating the classics.
That was funny, but the songs weren't bad.
As a big rock fan, I missed so of the songs in that style that I loved so much, but there was nothing I could do about it, right?
It's not like I could use my job as Ga Creator to bring the songs I loved so much from my other world into this one... right?
The more I thought about it, the more I began to doubt my own assertion.
'It's not like there aren't music gas in my other world...' I began to think, taking this idea more and more seriously.
Out of curiosity, I started researching music and rhythm gas in this world and realized that there was nothing like that.
As gas in this world followed the path of practicality and repetitive training, music was never considered in gas.
Even I ignored this in the developnt of Runestone, realizing that I had made the mistake of making the ga's tavern completely silent.
'Geez, even though this world has really good music, it's only used for listening or as a soundtrack for movies or series, and it's hardly ever used in gas! ' I realized in shock.
Since only Ga Creators could develop gas, music could only be played in gas if it was done by Ga Creators, and importing an mp3 file into the ga didn't work, since the ga wasn't a digital program like in my other world.
There were several very interesting music gas there.
Gas where the Player had to dance to the beat of the music, or where the Player took part in a band and used instrunt-shaped controls to play the songs they liked, gas where the Player needed incredible control and precision to click on circles that appeared on the screen synchronized with the beat of the music.
And not only were gas where music was the main focus, but when it ca to Ga Design, the music in the gas was one of the most important parts of the Player's experience.
There were gas with soundtracks so good that they won awards in competition with movies and series.
Imagine what the original gas would have been like without such imrsive music?
So a priority I would give to Season 01 would be to develop music for Runestone.
'Even if I had no knowledge of music, as long as I rembered the song and used Mana to make it, it wouldn't be impossible to use the System to play it, right?' I thought curiously.
'And if I manage to create a song for Runestone using the System, nothing would stop from making a music-focused ga using songs from my other world, right?!' I thought even more excitedly.
Runestone's biggest shortcoming was that the ga had no way for Players to practice their combat, only serving to increase the stats of those who played.
Because of this, most of my Players still played other gas to improve their combat skills, even if the other gas weren't fun.
But if I could make a ga like this fun, I could at least convince the Runestone Players to play, which would already guarantee at least 200 MP a day to increase my maximum MP, by convincing them to play the other boring gas they play.
'The problem with that is how could I develop a music ga that could help the Players' combat training? ' I thought as I took a piece of at off the grill.
“I think the at should be perfect by now.” I thought as I turned the knife in my hand and cut the at on the board.
By coincidence, as soon as I hit the at with the knife, the beat of the music synchronized perfectly with the movent of the knife, making a very satisfying sensation happen.
When I realized this, I froze.
'I know!Wasn't there a VR ga where the player used a lightsaber to cut colored blocks to the beat of the music?!Why not do sothing like that but with Players dueling to the beat of the music? “ I started to get excited.
To improve the quality of the training, I could replace the colored boxes that the Players had to attack with an opponent that they had to defend against.
This opponent could use different styles of weapons, but would always move to the beat of the music to attack the Players.
In order to deal with the opponent, and earn points, the Players would have to attack at the bright weak spots on the opponent's body or defend themselves from their attacks at the right monts.
As long as I synchronized these movents with the rhythm of the music I used, I would make for an extrely fun and very effective training session for the Players to practice!
Thinking about how satisfying it was to cut up that piece of at to the beat of the music, having the Players face off against opponents for the duration of a song while battling to the exact beat of it would certainly have great appeal for the Players!
'There's just one problem I have to consider as well.Since Players use different weapons, I'll have to make several forms of attack, such as swords, axes, daggers, bows, or simple spells, so that Players could use the thod they feel most comfortable with and not be excluded from this training... and that's going to be expensive.' I thought.
Developing a ga with the scope I envisioned would be extrely expensive in terms of MP.
The enemies couldn't have an Artificial Intelligence, only defending and attacking with movents synchronized with the music, which would reduce the MP cost of developing this, but for the ga to be interesting I would have to make several songs available, which would have to work with several weapons for the enemies and for the Players, creating a huge amount of variations for each song.
'But what's wrong with that being expensive or a lot of work? ' I thought as I put that concern aside.
The use of False Neurological Feedback in Runestone also made that ga extrely expensive for , costing 1.4k MP just to develop the ga's initial 104 cards, not to ntion everything else.
Even if the next ga was too expensive, I'd just need more ti to develop it.
Imagining the Players' reaction to playing the new ga for the first ti gave a lot of motivation, so I stopped worrying about how much it would cost.
As I continued to make the barbecue, I started trying to cut the at to the rhythm of the music, just for fun, and this made the barbecuing process even more fun.
Separating the best bits of the at I'd just cut, I put it all in the pink pot Victoria had lent and went to the door of her apartnt.
Ding, Dong
I rang the bell.
In a few seconds the door opened, with Victoria looking at in surprise.
“Theo? What's wrong? Do you need help?” She asked.
Smiling as I nodded, I held out my hand and handed her the pink pot she'd lent . “I told you I'd return your pot with sothing I'd prepared, so here it is. Today I felt like having a barbecue to try out the grill on the balcony and I decided to give you back the pot filled with so at I've prepared.”
Hearing this, Victoria was surprised as she opened the pot and saw several pieces of freshly roasted at.
“Oh my God Theo, you didn't have to do that, but thank you so much! My daughter was crazy about barbecue, when she stops playing I'm going to call her to eat this barbecue with .” She smiled as she spoke.
But I was surprised to hear it.
'She has a daughter who's playing?Could it be that the old director's granddaughter is actually Victoria's daughter? “ I was confused.
'Ohh, you live with your daughter? I thought it was just you, so I just sorted out this amount of at, I'll go back ho and prepare so more so you can share.” I said.
Hearing this, Victoria was surprised and quickly tried to deny it. “No need Theo, we eat very little, that's enough.”
But I didn't accept that and gave another explanation. “Your daughter is a Player, right? She'll need to develop her muscles to deal with the monsters in the dungeons, and there's nothing better than protein to develop muscles, so don't refuse, the at is already ready on the barbecue, I'll just need to cut it up.”
Listening to my explanation and realizing that it really made sense for her daughter's developnt, Victoria sighed and accepted my logic.
“Okay, but let get another pot, just a mont.” She said as she ran into the kitchen.
Looking at Victoria leaving, I couldn't help but be surprised at how young she looked.
To have a daughter of Player age, her daughter had to be at least 18, which ant that Victoria should have been around 40, but she only looked 30.
Looking at her apartnt again, I realized what a stark difference it was from mine.
The living room of her apartnt was fully decorated with lots of beautiful, planned furniture, giving the place a cozy, hoy feel, whereas my apartnt looked more like an abandoned shed...
'I think I can ask whoever decorated her apartnt to help when I decorate mine. I thought, not very confident in my interior design skills.
Victoria quickly returned with a new pot and handed it to , prompting to go back to my apartnt and cut up so more at and hand it to her.
“Thanks a lot Theo, when I make sothing tasty I'll send it to you too.” She said after we said goodbye and I went back to my apartnt.
Now alone, I spent the rest of the evening just thinking about how I could develop the new ga in the best possible way, both for the Players and for .
