The new environnt did wonders to give ideas and motivate to develop Runestone.
As for the card developnt, that was normal, since all the ideas for the cards were already ready and I just had to use my mana on it.
The difference is that since yesterday I've had an upgrade in card developnt.
As I've managed to increase my maximum Mana by 2 MP every day since the end of the test, my Mana has now reached a total of 80 MP!
So instead of just making 5 cards every day as I had been doing previously, my current Mana would allow to make 6 cards in a day and still have 2 MP left over to apply to sothing else.
With 6 cards being made every day and my Mana still increasing by a maximum of 2 MP every day, instead of finishing producing all the cards on Saturday of next week, I could finish it on Friday, or even next Thursday, leaving 2 days to spare for developing other things.
Of course, I didn't intend to rely solely on those 2 days to develop the other features that I would be launching in the ga in addition to the Battle Pass.
I would stop practicing my magic for a few days to use that extra Mana to develop other features.
One of the days I decided to give up practicing my magic was today.
Since I used the internet to research magic and the Darkness elent, I usually used the computer in my dorm room at college.
Studying it on my cell phone would be terrible, so I'd just leave it for another day and use the 80 MP from magic practice to invest in Runestone.
The layout of the Battle Pass that would co in the next update would be easy to make, just using the base of the other Battle Passes I've already made, saving a lot of ti.
What I wanted to use that ti to develop was the social part of Runestone.
This was an idea that I thought of during my college test, but due to lack of ti and mana I hadn't put it into practice yet.
Currently the only thing Players could do with friends was invite them to the ga.
To make it more fun, I was going to add an option that should already be in the ga, that of friends being able to duel each other, as well as the option of several Players being able to form a group and share the sa tavern.
Of course, so that it wouldn't beco a ss or that there would be cheating during gas, Players would only be able to see each other and communicate in the tavern when they weren't in a ga.
If I didn't put this limitation in place I'm sure Players would ask friends who play well to help them win gas and raise their ranks.
What I wanted was just a more fun social environnt to encourage Players to spend even more ti in the ga, not to give them ways to cheat in the ga.
Sure, duels between friends wouldn't be worth in-ga currency or Ranked Points, so friends who were also in the sa lobby would be able to see the two Players who were playing and give their opinions on the gas, helping their friends with training and making them better.
As the part about Players being able to et virtually already existed in the ga, adding the permission for Players to share the tavern wasn't that expensive in terms of MP, what really wasted MP was adding the restrictions I'd envisioned while still making these lobbies work the way I wanted.
Fortunately the 80 MP was enough to set it all up.
'Having a lot of MP is very practical... now I can understand why Ga Creators focus so much on developing as many gas as possible.' I thought.
Just as I'd finished making these features for the ga and was testing it to make sure no bugs had been made with the conditions I'd made for it to work, the apartnt intercom rang.
Leaving Ga Core and looking out of the large living room windows, I saw that the sun was setting and the sky was getting dark.
“Hello?” I asked as I answered the intercom.
“Hi Mr. Brooks, a delivery company has arrived with two packages for you, may I allow them to co up to your apartnt to deliver them? They said the larger package is a refrigerator.” The receptionist said on the other end of the line.
“Sure, no problem.” I replied excitedly.
'At least now I'll have a fridge and a computer! ' I thought excitedly.
The installation of this equipnt was very quick and efficient, I still had to leave the fridge off for a few hours because of the movent of the engine gas, but the computer was already fully functional.
Fortunately, the level of this computer was the sa as that of my college computer, which I was already used to.
Taking advantage of the fact that it wasn't ti for to sleep yet, I decided to go to the market.
The receptionist said that there was a market a five-minute walk away along the beachfront, so I just put on my headphones and listened to music while I walked and enjoyed the view.
'Having such a beautiful view every day is quite relaxing...' I thought as I compared the route I was taking to the market to the route I used to take when I was at college.
Things in this market were more expensive than in the market near the college, but that's understandable, one of the disadvantages of living in a more expensive neighborhood is that the cost of living is also higher.
But with my money I had enough to buy enough groceries to get by for a few weeks and make a present for Victoria who helped with my first al.
The next day, waking up in a new house left montarily lost, but when I began to recognize the place I was in, a smile appeared on my face.
'The old principal asked to help his granddaughter with any problems she might have in the dungeons, but what could I do without looking like a weirdo?Walk up to her and say “Hi, your grandfather asked to help you, so play my ga!”? It wouldn't make any sense to say sothing like that.
'Well, I'd better leave that for later, it'll be easier to talk about it once we're more familiar with each other. I thought as I shrugged.
After eating my breakfast, instead of going to develop new cards for Runestone, I had an idea of sothing I could do to amuse myself and get the Players excited for the next season I was going to release.
Opening the ga streams website, I looked at the list of streams and wasn't surprised to see that Owen was currently the biggest Runestone strear, already online and with 800 viewers watching him.
Among those viewers, from what I saw in the chat, most were normal people, and among the Players, most were people who also played Runestone.
Taking advantage of the fact that there were so many people online, I logged into Ga Core as a Player and used my Ga Creator commands to do sothing interesting.
- Owen POV -
Since last Saturday's event, Runestone's popularity had been growing more and more, and I was noticing that there were Players catching up with in the ga's Rankings.
If they were just normal, very good Players catching up with , I wouldn't have felt too strongly about it, but seeing the level of these Players I realized that they weren't catching up with in Rank because of their skill, but because they were playing a lot more than !
While I was only playing 7 or 8 hours a day, adding up the ti I spent ditating to recover MP, there were Players who were playing 12, 15 or even 17 hours a day.
And how did I discover this? Because recently while I was playing, one of the Players I had to face in the Diamond Rank was my older brother Nathan!
When he explained to that he wasn't the only E Rank Player taking advantage of their extra Mana to play Runestone for much longer, I couldn't believe it.
'How unfair... they have their E Rank gas to play and they're coming to our F Rank gas to rank up and take the Diamond or Master spots for themselves!' I was frustrated to discover this, but there was nothing I could do.
It's not like the Ga Creator was going to stop these Players from playing with them by contributing so much Mana to him every day.
Fortunately Nathan was no longer playing as long as he did last week, since this week he and his group were back to raiding dungeons, but there were still so Diamond Rank E Players.
I was currently in Diamond Rank 1, just one win short of moving up to Master Rank.
My opponent was also at Diamond Rank 1, and is one of the Players I believe to be E Rank Players outside the ga.
Even if these Players weren't as good as , because they played a lot more than they also improved considerably, and in a ga where luck also influenced the outco, even if I was a better Player, I still often lost gas.
Sure, my win rate was very high, otherwise I wouldn't be Top 1 in the ga, but I also lost gas if I wasn't careful.
And this was one of the gas where the duel was very close.
My hero was Grand Mage Lyna Proudstone, while my opponent was using Chief Warrior Shogar.
During the ga I managed to damage him and destroy several of his creatures using my spells and traps, but the price I paid was that my HP was now extrely low.
'If I stay on the defensive, I'll probably lose next turn...' I thought as I watched my opponent play his turn.
'Please deck, if you listen to , give a good card to deal with this situation...' I practically prayed for luck.
My opponent quickly ended his turn, summoning a powerful Lava Giant with 8 attack and 10 life before ending his turn.
If I couldn't deal with this giant, I'd really lose in the next round...
Picking up a card at the start of my turn, as soon as I saw the card I had received a huge smile appeared on my face.
The legendary card given as a reward for last Saturday's event!
[Relic of the Lost Guardian]
A spell card that costs 8 mana to play, but has the effect of randomly 'finding' the guardian among any of the cards on the board.
If the chosen card is mine, my card will receive the 'provoke' effect and 2 more HP points to protect , but the real legendary effect of this card is that if the chosen guardian is a card of my opponent, that card becos mine and cos to my side of the board.
'Please choose that card...' I practically prayed again as I stared at the Relic flying over the board until a light finally fell on the Lava Giant!
“Yes!” I shouted excitedly.
At the sa ti, my opponent sighed when he saw where this was heading and didn't even wait for his giant to move to my side of the board, pressing 'surrender' and giving up the ga completely.
With this victory I finally left Diamond and beca a Master Rank Player!
[Congratulations 'OwenOwns' for becoming the first Player Rank Master in the ga, this has unlocked the Runestone Rankeds leaderboard!]
This ssage didn't just appear for , but for all Runestone Players at that mont.
Not just the Online Players, but even a post on FrostHaven's Whisper with an image of a leaderboard.
Looking at this table that the ga unlocked, I saw that there were 199 empty spaces and only one filled one, the first place, with my na written there!
[#1 - OwenOwns - Master 1RP]
'Now I can officially confirm that I'm Runestone Top 1? ' I thought excitedly, feeling an honor and glory that I'd never felt with anything else before.
Even when I studied for exams at school and got the best grade in the class, I didn't feel as great an honor as I was feeling now... after all, I wasn't competing with just 50 people in my class, but more than 5,000 people who play the ga every day!
As I rose in rank, the border of my profile also changed from the beautiful bright blue that was Diamond, to a mystical and noble purple that represented a Master.
Looking at the stream chat, the viewers were celebrating more than , emotes being sent non-stop by them, causing a big smile to appear on my face.
After celebrating for a few minutes, I decided to play another ga to see how far I could get and see if it would be possible to rank up again after the Master Rank.
I was expecting the ga to take at least three minutes to find an opponent for , the average ti I had expected before, but this ti my opponent was found instantly!
To my surprise, my opponent's profile had no Rank border, as if he had never played a Ranked ga in his life.
'What's going on, did I make a bug happen in the system?' I asked myself shocked.
The opposing player's na was just two letters, [FH], which confused even more.
But when the ga started and I saw what my opponent looked like, I was shocked.
I knew him!
