“I guess by now you're wondering what your grade is in the school's evaluation, were there any deficiencies in your ga that you identified?” Old Principal Prescott asked after Professor Pine left the office.
Looking at the man, I didn't even have to think long before giving my explanation.
“In terms of developing Players' skills, although Runestone does a good job of letting Players improve their stats with False Neurological Feedback, I know that my ga doesn't do any work on improving Players' skills with weapons or combat, which still requires them to play other gas to train in that area.” I said calmly.
Nodding his head at my explanation, the old man gave a satisfied smile.
“Yes, and how do you intend to deal with that?” He asked as he interlaced the fingers of his hands above the table and looked at with interest.
Thinking for a mont, I answered honestly. “Initially I had an idea of just developing this ga further with so area for Players to train combat, but after realizing that this would probably limit in the future I decided to just save money for a while and buy a new Ga Core to make a ga that compensates for these deficiencies, leaving Runestone to focus exclusively on the best with False Neurological Feedback.”
Listening to my explanation, the old man asked again. “Your two approaches make sense, do you intend to evolve Runestone's Ga Core?”
I nodded.
Then he continued. “That's a long way off... accumulating 100,000 MP in a Ga Core F Rank is no easy task, even more so for soone who uses such expensive technology as False Neurological Feedback in the ga. You'd probably need 40 million hours spent in total on your ga, whether that's an average of 5,000 Players over 360 days, or 10,000 Players over 180 days, are you confident of achieving that? Not to ntion that this ti is without considering the 200 MP you would consu daily to increase your maximum MP.”
'10,000 Players on average online in the ga for 6 months wouldn't be difficult to achieve, honestly the biggest problem would be the ti, which might be too long for , but considering the growth that Runestone was having, the number of Players would probably continue to rise even more, decreasing that ti more and more.' I thought.
“It's not like I'm going to lose anything by doing this, even if I used very little Mana in the ga update every day the ga would still hold up very well, probably even growing over ti even without my intervention.” I explained, although I had no intention of stopping updating the ga.
The director agreed. “Yes, compared to other new gas that have difficulty maintaining a Player Base of thousands of Players, your ga is showing a path of consolidation that is unlikely to fall, making the evolution of the Ga Core only a question of 'when' and not 'if', but since you comnted that your new ga will make up for Runestone's deficiency in improving Players' practice, will you give up the use of False Neurological Feedback in this new ga?”
That was a good question, sothing I had to admit I wasn't sure about. “I don't know yet. Using False Neurological Feedback on cards is the simplest and cheapest use I had available, but trying to use it on sothing more complex will probably increase the Mana cost by such a high rate that the ga might not even make a profit in MP...”
The old man laughed when he heard this. “Stop talking like you're suffering from it, kid, you're the only Ga Creator below B Rank who's managed to apply this technology, going even more extre and applying sothing like this to an F Rank ga haha!”
I just shook my head and didn't pay much attention to it, but my attitude made the director indignant and he said sothing I didn't expect.
“Kid, I don't think you realize the level of your achievent... this week alone I've already received 3 emails from the Federation wanting to analyze your ga and trying to convince to get a detailed explanation from you on how to apply this technology to low Rank gas, the headache it was to turn down those greedy politicians is all your fault.” He complained while frowning.
Hearing that surprised . Since this kind of thing didn't reach , I really had no idea how impressive the use of it in my ga had been in the eyes of the people of this world... maybe I'll have to be careful not to attract so much attention in the future.
Seeing my caution erging, the old man was pleased. “Very well, that's what I expected from you. Your idea of making a new ga without using False Neurological Feedback is a good one, keep at it. You're still just a Ga Creator F Rank, a nobody among the Federation, make the most of this ti of growth and try to speed it up.
I'm sure that Runestone will beco a success on the Federation's website, needing very little ti to rise in Rank, which will raise your Mana level very quickly and earn you a lot of money, don't waste that money and save it for another Ga Core to accelerate your growth even more, it's no wonder that each Ga Creator accumulates several gas to rise in Rank.”
Listening to his explanation, I nodded.
Although Ga Cores were very expensive, the Federation gave discounts to low Rank Ga Creators.
The first Ga Core a Ga Creator bought cost just $20,000, with the next one going up to $40,000 and the price doubling until it reached the original price of a few million.
Because of this discount alone, the Federation lost billions of dollars every year, so no Ga Creator complained about them taking part of the money spent by Players to play the gas, or that they took a share of Players' profits from each dungeon.
Seeing that I had understood his point of view, the old director didn't ask any more about Ga Creating and changed the subject.
“Are you still interested in the apartnt I offered you that day?” He asked curiously.
I only had one question about it. “What will the rent be?”
The old man thought for a mont and answered. “If I were to rent this apartnt to anyone else at the market price, the price would probably be around $7,000 to $9,000 a month, but since I've offered you to live there with so conditions, half of that is okay with , so it would be around $4,000 a month.”
Hearing that price, I choked in surprise. “What?! Four thousand dollars for rent?! I'm going to live in a castle, old man?!”
As soon as I said that, I realized that because of the surprise I'd gone a little overboard and prepared to apologize, only to see the director start to burst out laughing.
“Hahahaha, of course not kid, are you surprised to pay $4,000 in rent? Don't tell your monthly salary with Runestone won't reach $20,000 in the next few days? Not to ntion when the ga goes on the Federation's website, that inco will increase even more, or when you create another ga, your profit will increase even more...” He laughed as he spoke. He laughed as he spoke. “In today's world, no one makes more money on average than Players and Ga Creators, with Players needing to climb several ranks before they start getting rich and Ga Creators already starting to get rich from the F Rank.”
Hearing this, I had to admit that it's true... 'Runestone is reaching 5,000 average Players and my monthly inco would reach $21,000 because of this, considering that F Rank gas only pay $6 per 1,000 hours, higher Rank gas not only yield more Mana for Ga Creators but the price to play is also higher, which further increases the inco for Ga Creators... damn, I'm really going to get rich!'
But shaking my head not to let that fool , I still looked at the old man with a frown. “Although I'll really make that kind of money in the future, right now I don't have that kind of money...”
The director just shook his head at this and said. “Don't worry, as I've invited you to live there to help my granddaughter, the first month's rent will be free, you'll just need to pay the rent from the second month onwards.”
Hearing that made see this proposal as much more acceptable.
If I could receive Runestone's inco for one month, I'd already have at least $20,000 accumulated in my account, or maybe even more than that depending on how much the ga brought in.
“But be aware that the apartnt is empty, you'll have to buy the furniture with your own money.” The old man said sothing that made feel as if the money in my wallet would fly away.
“You're kidding, right?” I wanted to confirm.
“Seriously, the apartnt doesn't have any furniture, so you'll have to buy everything you're going to use... of course, if you want to move sowhere else, everything you've bought is yours.” He explained, making nod.
Even if I had to buy things myself, at least I'd be living in a nice house, sothing I've never lived in, in either of my two lives.
In this life I only lived in an orphanage and the college dormitory, which I already felt was a great place for , while in the other life I also lived a simple life all the ti.
'At least it will be fun to live sowhere nice for once. I thought excitedly.
