The Stargate was constructed on a planet that had already been destroyed by the Swarm, Ma’ao Planet. This planet was originally part of the Jinxi Civilization, but now it had been completely abandoned, with only so buildings erected by the Jinxi Civilization remaining, devoid of any signs of life.
Bai Zhongqi then released a large number of engineered plants and animals here, including many Enslaved Beasts of the Swarm. Under the engineered biological ecosystem, Ma’ao Planet had regained a vibrant life force.
The people of Iridium Star utilized the existing buildings and facilities of the Jinxi Civilization to reconstruct their own style of cities and institutions.
Ma’ao Planet now had beco an institutional planet of the Iridium Star United Empire, where diplomats and military officials from different civilizations worked, serving as liaisons between the United Empire and various civilizations and coordinating all manner of civil affairs.
Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao were now both dressed in new-style military uniforms, which neither the luxury-loving Su Shuang nor the casual Suo Kexiao were quite accustod to.
“These clothes don’t seem quite the sa as the uniforms the Iridium Star people wear themselves,” Su Shuang tugged at his sleeve, apparently preferring robes with wide sleeves.
Suo Kexiao said, “Because these uniforms are for the still-forming Unified Empire Army, they’re different from the real Iridium Star forces under Bai Zhongqi’s command. I got a general understanding of the Iridium Starians’ new military strategy last night. Their original Empire Army, the forces composed of Iridium Star people, will be redesigned as the Iridium Star Army, roughly organized into sixty Strategic Fleet groups. It will take so ti to complete the reorganization. As for Bai Zhongqi’s own subordinates and those unmanned fleets under Supre Command, as well as the Swarm Ships, they are nad the Imperial Guard Legion and the Blade Legion, respectively. As for how many troops these two legions actually have, no one knows the exact figures. But I estimate, from what we have witnessed on multiple occasions, that each of these legions has at least over 100 Strategic Fleet groups.”
Su Shuang let out a deep sigh, gazing at the tall Iridium Star-style buildings in the city, and sighed, “Although I loathe to admit it, Bai Zhongqi probably does have the qualifications to beco the overlord of the Galaxy. With such a scale of fleet, plus the Unified Empire Army he is preparing to form, this force will be even stronger than those of the High Council and the Galactic Empire before.”
Suo Kexiao consoled him, “At least we are serving under such a power; the developnt potential for our future might be good as well.”
Su Shuang said, “If the Iridium Star United Empire really completes the Galaxy-wide hegemony, they will adopt a dual managent system, internal and external. The core is their Iridium Star internal governance, encompassing all the planets within the Great Star Zone of the Orion Arm and a few directly-governed planets in other Great Star Zones; external governance will be for all the civilizations in the Galaxy that bear the na of Iridium Star United Empire mber civilizations. The sovereignty belongs to the United Empire, with Bai Zhongqi as the Chancellor. They will retain a certain degree of autonomy, even significant autonomy, but will have given up their own military rights. The military forces of all external civilizations will be centralized in the Unified Empire Army, under Iridium Star’s unified managent.”
Suo Kexiao laughed, “At least in this way, the Iridium Star people can achieve a great degree of peace in the Galaxy. It seems Bai Zhongqi’s words carry so credibility; he said he wanted to bring peace and stability to the Galaxy, and it seems he will deliver.”

“Su Shuang, you’re too cynical, but I think there’s so truth to what you’re saying.”
The two then entered the headquarters of the Unified Empire Army on Ma’ao Planet, where already a group of military officers dispatched by civilizations that had chosen to join the Iridium Star United Empire had gathered.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a Divine General who had once held a nominal position in the Divine Generals Hall, Sei Vidon from the High Level Antioen Civilization.

They must have surrendered to the United Empire, thus escaping with their lives, right?” Sei Vidon, whose ranking was only in the thirties, was not very friendly to Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao.
“You’ve switched sides to the Iridium Star people.”
“It’s different; my civilization joined the Iridium Star United Empire.” Sei Vidon said arrogantly.
Suo Kexiao mocked, “How co I rember that when you were in the Divine Generals Hall, you fell out with your civilization? Now you’ve found your way back and beco their loyal dog; doesn’t your face hurt a bit?”
Sei Vidon was full of indignation, but his mouth quivered, saying nothing to counter.
“Hmph, I heard that the two of you were only assigned the rank of lieutenant colonel, to command cruisers as captains, so in the future whenever you see , you’ll have to salute. I was assigned the rank of colonel, beca the captain of a main battle ship, and I am qualified to command a squadron,” Suo Kexiao said, performing a military salute with impeccable precision, paying close attention to every detail.
Sei Vidon was surprised by Suo Kexiao’s righteousness, but then Suo Kexiao said, “Now you are my superior, and saluting you is my duty. But as a Divine General, you were always beneath my feet. If the Unified Empire Army truly a place of fairness where one ascends through military achievents, then I believe it won’t be long before you’re saluting .”
He walked past Sei Vidon’s shoulder and continued, “Cherish the ti while I salute you, because it may be quite short.”
As he passed by, Sei Vidon’s face turned red with anger, yet he couldn’t do anything about it. After all, they were both newly entered into the Unified Empire Army, and if they did sothing inappropriate, they could very likely be punished by the Iridium Star superiors.
Su Shuang followed Suo Kexiao and said, “I didn’t salute him.”
Suo Kexiao snorted, “That’s you being too clever for your own good.”
When the two arrived at the officers’ lounge, they received a new ssage.
“His Majesty, Imperial Chancellor Bai Zhongqi of the Iridium Star United Empire, will hold a signing ceremony on Ma’ao Star for the 143 civilizations joining the Iridium Star United Empire to witness the mont 143 civilizations beco part of Iridium Star.”
Su Shuang fell silent for a mont and said, “There are already 143 civilizations?”
“At a ti when they could be annihilated by the Swarm at any mont, the Iridium Star United Empire is almost the last straw they can grasp.”
