The girl from Lingge Star, Jenna, dressed in a stylish outfit and carrying a chic handbag, strolled through the campus of Lighthouse Country.
She was a student from Lingge Star studying on Earth. After Lingge Star was liberated by the Star Alliance, it entered a rapid developnt phase as an Administrative Star of the Star Alliance. Many people from Lingge Star also got the chance to study or develop their careers on other Administrative Stars in the Star Alliance.
Jenna couldn't forget the sight of Bai Zhongqi and chose to study on Earth when she had the opportunity to study abroad. However, she wasn't assigned to Spratly Island but instead ca to Lighthouse Country.
Jenna liked many things about Earth: the variety of food, the peculiar music, and most of all, the myriad styles of clothing and accessories available, providing so much choice.
Many facilities had technological contents beyond her imagination. Although Jenna knew these things had not been on Earth for long and that Earthlings were probably just as fascinated by them as she was, life here was extrely convenient and material life was rich and colorful. Jenna truly believed that the life of a Star Alliance citizen was exceedingly blissful.
Yet, the recent turmoil had cast a shadow over Jenna's previously good mood.
While she was walking across the campus, a few classmates she was fairly close to approached her.
"Jenna, have you finished class?"
Jenna responded to her classmates with a smile. She was naturally beautiful, a campus belle, and her status as an alien girl made her even more popular. Ever since she entered the school, her list of admirers had never ceased.
The group of classmates in front of her included both boys and girls, with whom Jenna had a rather good relationship, but lately, she had started to view these people less favorably—they had been organizing campus activities against the Star Alliance governnt and the Chancellor.
"Jenna, we're preparing a petition with thousands of signatures, calling on all local students to jointly sign a letter demanding that Bai renounce his illegitimate power and stop his brute interference in all matters of the Star Alliance," one said.
Upon hearing this, Jenna beca extrely annoyed and said, "I won't sign such a thing."
The lead boy, thinking he understood Jenna's concerns, said, "Jenna, you don't have to be afraid. I know you might be worried that social activists could be monitored by the Star Alliance governnt; indeed, many people's communications have been blocked recently. But you can't let fear overco you; we must strive for a society with democracy and freedom. No matter how Bai suppresses us, we must bravely stand up."
Another girl said earnestly to Jenna, "Right, Jenna, even though you're from Lingge Star and not an Earthling, you must be able to empathize. Lingge Star was once a free and independent place, but it was invaded by Bai's orders to the Universe Army of the Star Alliance, turning your holand into a colony. The colonial actions of the Star Alliance in the universe are unjust, and we oppose all forms of colonization, striving to preserve love and peace on every planet."
Jenna's eyes widened as she said, "But it was actually the Universe Army that eliminated the cannibalistic Lizard People and liberated Lingge Star."
The lead boy gave her a "you've been deceived" look and said, "Compared to the Teizene, Bai's thods are just another form of slavery. Look, there used to be many countries on Lingge Star, but now Bai has carved them into different administrative areas, turned Lingge Star into an Administrative Star of the Star Alliance, and has even forced you to speak the language and use the currency of another planet..."
He spoke on and on, seemingly boasting about his profound insights. Jenna, however, felt nauseated by the boy's naive pontification. If a civilization could make other races and planets accept its system and culture, that was certainly sothing to be proud of. Yet these young people absurdly thought it was a bad thing, which was beyond help.
"Enough, I won't sign, and what you're doing is the most foolish thing ever. On my planet, if soone did this to their governnt and leaders, being exiled or shot wouldn't be considered too harsh."
Jenna exclaid loudly, shaking the group with a force entirely unlike her usual delicate deanor.
But soon, those few people began to mock Jenna.
"Ah, clearly from another planet, your concepts just can't compare to us Earthlings, eh? Clearly enslaved, yet you speak for the tyrant. Is this Stockholm syndro?"
"You seed quite enlightened usually, but who would have thought you'd be on Bai's side, shaful."
"Maybe creatures from other planets just aren't that bright."
Even racist comnts were thrown in, and Jenna was utterly speechless with these hysterical youth. She could not understand why within such an outstanding Universe Civilization, with such a solid foundation, there were so many troubleso people whose brains seed to have problems.
"No wonder Lieque Star and Erald Sea Star wanted to withdraw from the Star Alliance. Earth reaps the biggest rewards from the Star Alliance yet turns out to be its parasite. The Chancellor really should lead the other planets to establish a grand civilization and kick Earth out!" Jenna shouted, then, no longer paying attention to the group, strode away.
She had only gone a few steps when the people in the campus began exclaiming in surprise.
"What's happening?"
Jenna seed to sense sothing unusual as well; she looked up to the sky and saw that it appeared to be wavering like air of varying density, with pale golden light diffusing from the sky. A giant golden Light Sphere suddenly flashed in the sky, bursting into thousands of points of light cascading toward the ground.
Soone comnted, "What is that? It's so beautiful."
"Maybe it's another spectacle set up by Bai Zhongqi to prove his might?"
Jenna's gaze was captivated by the sky full of firework-like light, but she didn't feel as relaxed as everyone else. Clusters of Light Spheres appeared out of nowhere in the sky, breaking into more smaller spheres, falling slowly as if they had no real weight.
Jenna felt uneasy, a sensation similar to the one she had felt on Lingge Star when she saw the invading ships from Teizene. She didn't know what it was, but she instinctively felt that it wouldn't be anything good.
Quickly pulling out her phone, Jenna loudly asked her AI assistant, "Where's the nearest Shelter? Hurry, lead there!"
While more people simply took out their phones and began taking photos of the sky.
