Lv Zhinian wore a pristine white military dress uniform, which was not the standard attire for combat and drills. The training uniforms of the crew on the interstellar warship were designed to help them adapt to the environnt in space and could completely cover the body in critical monts, allowing the crew to survive briefly in a vacuum. Not to ntion, the training uniforms were equipped with various devices, ranging from communication to computation, and even included simple weapons.

Standing on the dock of the long and beautiful naval port, Xiang Fei, already a high-level official of the Star Alliance governnt, solemnly said to him, "Captain Zhinian, you are the first Earthling to be the captain of a main battle ship in the Universe Army of the Star Alliance, and you are already a figure for the history books. However, Captain Zhinian, your task is also very arduous. There are more than two thousand crew mbers on the Aquarius alone, not counting the pilots, coming from 66 countries on Earth, all with different backgrounds. Although now they all stand under the flag of the Star Alliance, managing them is certainly not an easy task."

Lv Zhinian was always calm and unruffled. He simply nodded to Xiang Fei, indicating that he understood.

Xiang Fei had no recourse with Zhinian, as they were not in a command relationship. Back in the Navy of C country, Zhinian had been considered a very promising figure and had perford exceptionally in the East Sea War. He was quick to embrace new things and had a good grasp of the macro-situation of battles, considered to have the makings of a great commander.

After the Star Alliance began recruiting globally, people from nearly every country participated in the Universe Army, with the most from C country, followed by the United States.

In the training camps, although this group of Star Alliance soldiers had undergone so simple physical modifications, such as subdermal implants of computing chips and language modules, they could understand nearly any language on Earth without barriers. Therefore, there was this peculiar phenonon in the Universe Army and the Earth Defense Force—C country people spoke Chinese to French people, and French people spoke French to Germans, and everyone could understand each other.

Naturally, the only official language of the Star Alliance now was Chinese. Other countries on Earth had proposed multiple tis to add other languages, but none had acquired the consent of Bai Zhongqi. Bai Zhongqi had never seen any interstellar civilization use two languages, and there was no need for the Star Alliance to democratize this issue.

In the training camps of the Universe Army, conflicts often arose among soldiers of different ethnicities who ford cliques. The rules of the training camps were strict, and soldiers who dared to disobey orders were dealt with. The Universe Army had also set up a political departnt, modeled after C's military, and regularly conducted ideological education with the soldiers.

So soldiers from the West thought this was unethical brainwashing, but those who protested were also handled. At this ti, any individual opinion was less important than the survival of Earth. Within three months of global recruitnt, the Universe Army had disqualified quite a number of people.

The motto of the Universe Army was now clearly spelled out — fight for Earth, fight for all humankind.

Lv Zhinian did not care much about the conflicts among Universe Army soldiers of different ethnicities, as the Star Alliance provided a robust frawork. With a sound system and strict supervision, the Star Alliance had strong organizational capabilities, and all Universe Army soldiers still had a common spiritual pillar. Regardless, they all fought to protect their holand, their mother planet, and their fellow n.

The young Cui Zhihao and his comrades walked onto the warship from the gangway of the Aquarius. This was not his first ti boarding a Universe Warship; he had previously interned on an escort ship for a month and a half. After joining the Universe Army, all crew mbers underwent three months of intensive training, mainly conducted at the training base, with considerable ti spent in the Deep Sleep Learning System. Three months later, the rookie trainees would face their first evaluation, and those who passed would be assigned internships, generally on escort ships. After 45 days of internship, they would complete their internship evaluations, and then the Universe Army would officially employ these trainees as formal crew mbers.

While the whole process took just over five months, the actual learning ti for the crew could exceed two years, all thanks to the Iridium Star Deep Sleep Learning System.

Cui Zhihao also wore a white Universe Army uniform, and all his personal belongings and equipnt were uniformly transported onto the warship. To be able to beco a crew mber of this main battle ship, which was also the only interstellar aircraft carrier of the Star Alliance, Cui Zhihao was very excited.

All the cabins on the ship were double-occupancy, and Cui Zhihao shared one with a burly Black brother. This older Black man's na was Klei, from Brooklyn in Lighthouse Country, and though he looked fierce, he was actually quite simple-hearted.

After Klei ca aboard, he hugged Cui Zhihao and said in broken Chinese, "Brother, this is fantastic. From now on, we'll be roommates. My na's Klei."

Having studied in Lighthouse Country, Cui Zhihao responded in English, "My na is Cui Zhihao. Nice to et you."

Klei exclaid in surprise, "Wow, dude, your English is really good! But could you not speak so much English with ? I'm currently learning Chinese."

He scratched his nearly bald head and added, "Not being able to speak Chinese is a pretty serious issue right now."

Cui Zhihao certainly understood what he ant, but he felt sowhat proud. In the past, people prided themselves on speaking fluent English, but after the Star Alliance took dominance globally, they designated Chinese as the official language. Although all Star Alliance officials could use translators for seamless communication, all news and original docunts from the Star Alliance were written in Chinese.

Cui Zhihao smiled, feeling this person wasn't bad, and said, "I'm happy to be of help."

Klei laughed heartily and patted Cui Zhihao on the shoulder, asking, "Hey, buddy, did you bring any snacks?"

Cui Zhihao explained, "Our crew's diet is strictly controlled. Although snacks can be consud as a supplent, they must undergo health inspections. I found it botherso so I didn't bring anything."

With unlimited sorrow, Klei said, "Ah, that's too bad. I thought since you're from the C country, you'd have a stash. You know, I recently got hooked on a marvelous snack at the training base. It's fantastic. I bought a lot and ate it every day. I even stashed so on the training ship, but those animals split all my stock. This assignnt to the Aquarius was so rushed I didn't have ti to buy more. Ah, I hope our ship's supermarket sells it."

In reality, there wasn't true consur activity for Universe Navy personnel aboard the warships; they received all their supplents, personal items, and entertainnt products for free. However, to prevent waste, there was a limit on the quantity they could claim. Even so, each crew mber could access a greatly generous amount of items. If they had to purchase these using old currency, it would cost them over hundreds of thousands.

Curiously, Cui Zhihao asked, "What snack do you want to eat?"

With a big grin showing his white teeth, Klei said joyfully, "Spicy strips."
