Alex squinted his eyes, watching how the mammoth charged at him.
Behind the army, Rose didn't want to take her eyes off her master, believing that she would improve to see how Alex fought monsters above his ranks.
"Master…" Rose clenched her fists and put them on her chest as if she was praying.
Alex wasn't aware of this as he was too focused on the monsters in front of him.
He simply waited for the two monsters to co in a while watching how the soldiers were pushing back the monsters to protect Alex, who was fighting the two monsters.
Albeit none of the soldiers were fast enough as the two monsters had arrived. And yet, there was no disappointnt in Alex's eyes. Instead, it was filled with a smile and joy because two giant arrays appeared on the ground.
Alex himself was floating three ters above the ground so he could see his surroundings, due to the size of the monsters that varied.
"Saint Explosion Array."
Alex smiled and activated his array. Two explosions occurred as it turned into a fla pillar, roasting the monsters inside. What made these two arrays even special was that he made the array big enough to trap around fifty monsters inside each array.
*Roar Roar!*
As expected, the weaker monsters imdiately scread in pain because they couldn't withstand the heat. And the screams slowly died down as those monsters burned to death.
Alex didn't stop there. Two dragons appeared and circled around him. If he used too many arrays, he might exhaust his Spiritual Energy first because the consumption was crazy. That was why he prepared to fight close combat after making this surprise attack.
"Surprise attack won't really work again in the face of an intelligent beast…" Alex muttered to himself while looking at the first Saint Explosion Array.
That mammoth was a Fire Elent monster, so he should be the one injured the most from this. Alex decided to attack the mammoth first before the snake could help him.
Alex took out his two weapons and waved them toward the mammoth.
"Mythical Fire Slash."
Alex used a huge amount of his energy. Sending two horizontal Sword Waves toward the fire pillar, but he didn't use it while floating in the air. Instead, he landed on the ground first and used the technique.
"His feet?" Rose exclaid in surprise, never expecting that he wanted to stop his movent first.
Anya only smiled while observing Rose and thought, 'It seems she doesn't understand Alex's real intent.'
Even so, Anya didn't say anything first, hoping that Rose could figure it first.
The mammoth found these sneaky Sword Waves and lifted up its feet, stomping these small Sword Waves. Even though Alex's Pure Fire was stronger than his Fire, this didn't an that his physical body was weaker.
Alex understood what the mammoth was thinking, but he couldn't act because the white snake had freed himself from the fire, making his way toward Alex.
Taking another glimpse, Alex threw his spear toward the mammoth who was struggling to destroy Alex's Sword Wave.
"Master!" Rose shouted, looking at Alex, who was about to get swallowed by the snake.
And yet, the latter didn't even respond and stood still, letting the snake swallow him.
Rose's body shook when she saw this, but Anya simply hit her head with her staff.
"Ah!" Rose was startled and turned around, finding Anya pointing her finger toward the mammoth while smiling as if the snake didn't swallow him.
When she saw this gesture, Rose followed the direction and found Alex appearing before the mammoth.
"!!!" Rose and the mammoth were startled to see Alex appearing.
Alex paid no attention and struck the eyes with his spear.
"Heaven Light Slash!"
The mammoth quickly protected the eyes with the eyelid while tilting his head to hit Alex with its tusks.
Unfortunately, the mont the mammoth closed his eyes, the chance appeared.
Alex turned around, seeing the incoming tusk. He avoided it and looked at the mammoth.
"Mythical Fire Slash!"
This ti, he didn't hold back anymore because this was the biggest opportunity he got during this fight. He used both Triple Draws and his Space Cut in this technique, trying to cut either the mammoth's head or its tusk. He knew that the mammoth would do sothing if he aid directly at his head, so he decided to use this opportunity where it tilted its head to make him unable to avoid it.
"!!!" The mammoth seed to realize this and panicked. His Fire started covering the tusk to strengthen it, but Alex's Pure Fire suppressed at least half of its power.
Suddenly, the snake erged behind him, trying to use its head to blow him away.
Alex glanced behind him and struck the right side of its mouth. "Heaven Light Slash!"
The snake widened its eyes, realizing he was baited by Alex.
"Shaa!" He let out a scream, and his body was pushed to the left, but the snake still held on and moved toward the mammoth, biting the Sword Waves to destroy it.
Alex didn't stop there and landed on the snake's body, starting to cut him.
"Shaa!" Despite feeling hurt, it didn't release Alex's Sword Waves and destroyed it. And yet, it couldn't feel happy because he encountered another problem.
The shattered Sword Waves didn't disappear. Instead, it turned into a few streams of light, flying away like an omnidirectional attack.
"…" Rose closed her mouth with her hand and couldn't say anything. She was truly speechless by Alex's control on the battlefield and couldn't help but exclaim. "Amazing."
"You haven't understood all the reasons why he made such a move," Anya comnted.
"Eh?!" Rose widened her eyes and tilted her head in confusion. "What do you an?"
"First, he used his Sword Waves to stop the movent of that mammoth. Knowing it had pride in its strength and weight, Alex had predicted that the mammoth would destroy his attack. Yet, it failed because he underestimated Alex's power.
"Second, the mont the mammoth stuck in his place, Alex decided to make the enemy unable to move. He pressured the mammoth into that state by threatening the mammoth that he would cut its eye.
"Of course, the real reason why the second point could go so well because of Alex's Space Elent, specifically Space Mark. You saw it too, right? Alex threw his spear and teleported after going inside the snake's mouth? It's too camouflage that the snake has defeated him, and due to that, the mammoth would be too slow to dodge Alex's attack.
"After that, Alex used his strongest attack to make the mammoth choose either his head or his body. However, it's not his true intention. He should have known that the snake is coming to him. Seeing how intelligent they are, the snake would surely co to help the bull. In that case, he had a perfect chance to strike the rushing snake.
"The mont he completes these steps, he uses another trick…" Anya pointed her finger toward the shattered Sword Waves.
Rose observed them and realized that the energy from the Sword Waves was still too strong, resulting in it to fly to all directions the mont it shattered.
*Boom Boom Boom!*
As one would expect, the attack would injure or kill monsters around the explosion areas. With this, she finally understood why Alex chose to move like this. "Master is killing the weaker monsters as well… I see."
"Yes. It seems you have understood his real intention. Even though this is the battle between him and the two 10-Star monsters, they are still in the middle of the war nonetheless. Of course, he needed to kill those beasts." Anya nodded.
"I… I have learned. I was too focused on the two 10-Star this whole ti while Master actually saw the entire battlefield. Not only did he take advantage of his ability, but he also didn't forget the whole picture." Rose closed her eyes and clenched her fists.
"You are missing another thing, Rose. The fact that you are still within the enemy's rank can beco a double-edged sword. Alex utilizes this carefully. What is his situation now?"
"Eh?!" Rose thought it was already abnormal for Alex to think all of that in the middle of the fight, but she soon realized there was another trick. "Those 10-Star monsters are a kind of leaders of these monsters, so it will depend on the bosses themselves.
"If they don't care about their comrades and subordinates, they will attack Master even if it ans sacrificing the others. If they are not, this will be a huge advantage because Master can restrict their strength to a certain degree and the lower level monsters are afraid to interfere with their bosses' fight. The most dangerous places sotis are the safest places."
Anya smirked and nodded. "Correct. Nice for you to understand that."
Letizia didn't say a single word during this ti. Although she could predict a few points, she couldn't figure everything out. And Rose was Alex's direct disciple, so it was better for Rose to answer instead of her. Still, it didn't an she chose not to learn anything. In fact, she made sure to rember this lesson, so she could do the sa thing in the future.
When the ladies were talking, Alex's fight progressed very far. The mammoth had both his tusks destroyed by Alex while his body was covered with wounds. The white snake wasn't any better.
However, Alex also had used a considerable amount of his Spiritual Energy in this fight.
"Shaa!" The snake charged at him again, trying to swallow him.
Alex threw his spear again that had been imbued by Space Mark.
Seeing this, the snake hesitated for a second before finding the mammoth grabbing that spear with its truck. It continued to swallow Alex.
Alex only smiled as if he had prepared everything for this.
He snapped his finger as another array appeared. Nurous chains erged and locked the head, hindering it to even move.
The mammoth imdiately dropped Alex's spear and tried to rescue the snake with its trunk. But as the mammoth had predicted earlier, the spear had been imbued by Space Mark. The mont it struck the ground, Alex activated it to appear right below the mammoth.
"Mythical Fire Slash." Alex smirked and sent a powerful Sword Wave its leg, sending the giant head flying.
He then moved to the snake, using the sa move to kill it, but the snake managed to move its body, rolling it around so the entire body could wrap Alex.
Alex only lifted his finger for this as he used a few techniques at the sa ti. They were Space Bind, Space Plates, and the Sphere Chain Array to stop the snake from moving. At that instant, he put the snake out of misery.
"Huft… I have used a bit more than half of my Spiritual just to fight these two monsters… That is ridiculous." Alex gritted his teeth, not happy with his current achievent. Still, he found Rose and Letizia looking at him with awe, so he smiled since his hidden intention of keeping them here had paid off.
And yet, he couldn't relax just yet, especially when he found another 10-Star monster coming toward him. He spotted another one not far from behind it and couldn't help but exclaim. "I am so popular."
The two incoming monsters were a red ape and a white rhinoceros. They seed to be stronger than the two, but he knew he wouldn't have any problems in dealing with these two. Alex glanced at his right as a lightning bolt flew past him.
The lightning bolt hit the red ape that seed to have less defensive power. A tiny figure suddenly appeared next to him as Alex smiled and greeted her. "What is the situation over there?"
"I have killed two monsters as well and sohow co to this place. Since this is the case, I would like to assist you in this fight. Will that be alright?"
"Of course." Alex nodded. "You are fighting in the front, I shall support you."
"I understand." Jeanne nodded and leaped toward the two monsters. "Ready to die, you idiot monsters!"
