The Heritage divine ability wasn’t really ant to fight killers and other pathways. Its true effect is to suppress the effects of the divine abilities of other nobles.
Nobles already have a divine ability for suppression, and it is the rank 2 Noble Suppression. But this divine ability doesn’t work on other nobles. After all, they have noble blood too.
But the Heritage divine ability fixes this problem and takes it to the next level by using the combined power of all of the ancestors of the noble in the rank 6 divine ability called Ancestral Power, the population size of the noble family, and the wealth and the influence of the noble to suppress other nobles.
Eventually, the nobles with the largest heritage, who are usually the nobles with the strongest Ancestral Power divine ability, the largest wealth, and the largest families, get to beco angels and gain the rank 9 divine ability called Vassal divine ability.
The rank 9 Vassal divine ability is the divine ability that allows nobles to grant noble titles, serve as the core of a vassal system, and beco an emperor over other nobles.
So only angels of nobility are the true emperors worthy of ruling over a kingdom or nation. This also makes them the second target after rchants to rob if one is interested in getting a lot of money quickly.
They didn’t gain a lot of money from robbing the nobles of the Hydra Kingdom because they are not real nobles. Many of the nobles of the Hydra kingdom don’t even belong to the noble pathway. They are just called nobles because they rule over others.
As for the ones that are truly nobles, they are also slaves. So they can never advance to the demigod level, and all of their wealth is being sent over to their true master.
This inability of nobles that have beco slaves to advance to rank 8 is why they would have loved to enslave the demigod noble.
He would beco the weakest demigod noble after they enslave him because a slave noble is not worthy of being a noble. But he would still be a great addition to Legion’s toolbox.
However, everything worked out well at the end of the day. They got a lot of wealth to make up for their loss, so they can’t complain.
After taking most of the gold and the energy water, they left the remaining items, such as gems and paintings, and left. These items couldn’t be carried with them easily, and they didn’t want to stick around for much longer after sensing danger approaching.
So they were decisive and left what they couldn’t carry behind. Then they slipped into the Mindscape and escaped quickly.
A few seconds after they were gone, soone appeared in the storehouse. This person was dressed in large, expensive clothes that glittered even in the low-light conditions of the tenebrum world.
They also had a large crown on their head and carried themselves with an air of nobility and superiority. Right now, they were using all of that air of superiority to examine the storehouse and everything within it closely.
When the person didn’t sense them, they sneered and said, "Co out wherever you are, or I will flatten this place."
But Legion still didn’t co out. This made the person angry.
The person tried to coerce them to reveal themselves by saying, "I know that you’re here. I sensed you earlier, so I’m sure that you are here. I won’t kill you for what you’ve done. As long as you beco my vassal, I will forgive your sin of killing my vassal and let you go."
Legion still didn’t co out. So the anger of this angel of nobility, also known as the Emperor of the Rentford kingdom, peaked beyond his fragile limits.
He asked with anger, "Do you think I won’t dare to destroy this whole city to get you? Then you have thought wrong."
After saying so, the Emperor of Rentford left the storehouse and flew above the city.
Then he said, "No one in this city can move or use any divine ability."
Next, he said, "A large teor will fall from the heavens and destroy this city in one minute."
Both rules drained a lot of spiritual energy to take effect, but the energy drainage of the second rule was orders of magnitude greater than the first rule.
The second rule was excessive and a wasteful way to kill soone. Not only did it consu a lot of spiritual energy to pull a teor from space with a force that brings it to the speed needed for it to fall onto this city in one minute, but the attack will also take a full minute before it can take effect.
But the Emperor had used this rule on purpose. He used it to give the person hiding in the city ti to think about their situation and surrender to him.
After all, he doesn’t really want to kill the culprit that murdered his vassal. That kind of action will only cause him to lose out twice, both on the chicken and the eggs.
It is already bad enough that the soul of the demigod noble had been eviscerated, so he can’t help to resurrect them. He doesn’t want to lose out on soone capable of doing sothing like that either.
What he wants is a move of shock and awe that will compel the culprit into surrendering. And in case the culprit still remains stubborn and refuses to accept his toast, this singular move will ensure that they don’t survive.
Even a demigod, an undying godclad who gets hit with a teor, will have to die once. So if the culprit refuses to surrender, this flashy move will kill him and show the world that he is not a pushover who will let anyone kill his vassals.
He has to prove that he is not a pushover to the world or his position as Emperor will beco unstable.
