They will have all the life essence they want. Supre beasts are too powerful. The only thing they have to watch out for is to match compatible divine abilities."

His plan sounds as if he is giving up on becoming a world god without a supre law but he isn't. Instead, he has only decided to not prioritize it. He is still going to try to achieve it. This has reduced the chances that he will achieve that lofty goal but he won't risk losing the purpose for his reincarnation. So he is being greedy but he has not lost sight of the greater goal.
