The secret chamber of the Holy Hall.
Blood slowly seeped from the corner of Minos’s lips.
A Divine Angel’s blood should be crimson gold, but what trickled out was faintly black.
He furrowed his brow and wiped away the bloodstain. His already handso, fair face grew even paler, and the aura around him beca increasingly chaotic...
A flawless, blazing sun entangled by black mist...
He clutched his chest with his right hand, his fingers tightening so hard they wrinkled the smooth, magnificent robes.
Minos had set up a shielding Array inside and outside the secret chamber in advance, making it difficult for the outside world to detect any change in his aura. But Sang Luo, stepping into the room, instantly slled the strange scent—a stark contrast to the divine light that usually emanated from Minos.
"Luoluo?"
Seeing her approach, Minos panicked and quickly hid the silk handkerchief in his hand.
He stood up to help the visibly pregnant Sang Luo. "Why are you back?"
"What, you don’t want back?"
"No, of course not. I couldn’t ask for more. I just thought you’d return after giving birth," Minos said with a light chuckle.
"I was planning to co back after the baby was born, but I sensed sothing was wrong with you." Sang Luo noticed his pale lips. She reached out and gently wiped them, her fingertip coming away with a faint trace of blood. Her heart sank. "What’s wrong with your body?"
"What could be wrong with ?" Minos stroked her hair with his long fingers, his gaze gentle and full of affection. "Do you want to see the children? The two of them miss you very much."
"Don’t try to change the subject. I do want to see the children, but before that, you’re going to tell exactly what’s wrong with you. Don’t you dare hide it from ." Sang Luo’s tone was severe, but her eyes were turning red.
A pang of tenderness hit Minos. He lowered his head and kissed the corner of her eye. "There is sothing wrong with my body. Luoluo, don’t worry. I can suppress it for now."
"For now? What about later?" Sang Luo looked behind him. "What was that in your hand just now? Show it to ."
"...It’s, it’s nothing." A flicker of panic crossed his eyes.
Sang Luo pried open his right palm. The sar of black blood on the handkerchief was jarring!
"And you still say it’s nothing! How long were you planning to hide this from ? Until I have to co pay respects at your grave after you’re dead?" Sang Luo’s breathing was unsteady.
"I..." Minos was speechless. He was afraid she would get worked up and harm herself during her pregnancy. Besides, she had already found out, so he decided not to hide it any longer.
He led Sang Luo to a nearby chaise lounge and had her sit down. Under her tense gaze, he removed his outer robe and slowly unfastened his collar.
Sang Luo held her breath. A mont later, her eyes trembled!
There was a patch of black markings on Minos’s chest, near his heart.
The man’s light voice drifted over. "The Saint Master told this secret before he died. A long ti ago, the Saint Ancestor implanted a Demon Bone in my body. It is a Soul Bone left behind by an ancient Fallen God Angel."
"The Saint Ancestor was once a subordinate of that Fallen God Angel. After the Fallen God Angel died, he took this Soul Bone, changed his na, and returned to the Holy Domain. And after the Ancient Temple fell, he created the current Holy Hall."
"The Saint Ancestor harbored sinister intentions. He never gave up on resurrecting that Fallen God Angel, but he could never find a suitable host... until my birth." Minos’s deep voice paused. Sang Luo also had a bad feeling, and she heard him continue slowly,
"As a fellow Holy Angel, I was the perfect vessel for the Fallen God Angel’s resurrection. When I was young, the Saint Ancestor removed the third rib from the left side of my chest and transplanted this Soul Bone in its place."
"When I annihilated the Saint Ancestor, he activated the power of this Soul Bone. My own power beca mixed with the power of a Fallen Angel, growing more chaotic and frenzied."
"...Then what can we do? Will you really suffer a backlash from the Soul Bone? What can I do to help? Tell , Minos." Sang Luo gripped his hand tightly, her eyes completely red now, her voice choked with a sob.
Minos’s smile grew even gentler. "I didn’t tell you before because I was afraid you’d worry needlessly. See? Just as I thought, you’re so worried you’re about to cry."
Sang Luo forced herself to hold back her emotions. "I am not!" She paused. "I rember our little daughter has the Life Law. Can’t we just remove this Demon Bone and have her grow a new rib for you?"
Minos shook his head. "If it were any other bone, it could naturally be regrown. But that particular rib is an extrely important one for the Angel Clan. It’s the one closest to the heart and is called the Life Soul Bone. An Angel only has one unique Life Soul Bone in their entire life."
"Where did your original Life Soul Bone go? If we find it, can we swap it back?"
"Theoretically, yes. But that Life Soul Bone will be very difficult to find." Minos sounded regretful. "The Saint Ancestor was the only one who knew where it was, and he took that secret to his grave."
Sang Luo was too upset to speak.
Minos stroked her face comfortingly. "Don’t worry, my power can suppress this Demon Bone for now. You don’t need to be too concerned."
How could Sang Luo possibly be at ease? Gazing at his gentle smile only made her heart ache more. "You could have spared the Saint Ancestor’s life back then."
"And what if I had? He never would have returned the Soul Bone. He would have just used it as leverage to threaten . Not to ntion he had his eyes on you and the children. I would never tolerate such a great threat remaining by my side." Minos poked her nose, amused.
’That’s true... sigh.’
"The Saint Ancestor didn’t necessarily destroy the rib. He probably hid it and sealed it away sowhere. I’ve had people searching for it recently. It can’t have left the Holy Domain, so we’ll find it eventually if we spend enough ti looking," Minos added.
Hearing him say this, Sang Luo didn’t feel quite so dejected. "The Saint Ancestor was a hidden Fallen Angel. He probably traveled to the Void Demon Realm often, too. We should search there as well. There are more hiding places there than in the Holy Domain."
"Mhm, I told Quan Jin about this. He’s also sent people to help search."
’Her husbands were getting along quite harmoniously.’
’The Holy Monarch and the Demon Lord, two people who couldn’t be more unrelated, were now connected by one little female.’
"Shall we go see the children?" Minos took Sang Luo’s hand and smiled gently. "You haven’t really seen Vilina and Ares much since you gave birth to them. The two little ones miss you."
"Vilina, Ares..." Sang Luo murmured the nas twice, then smiled. "You must have nad them yourself. They’re beautiful nas."
"Mhm. By rights, the children of the Holy Monarch should be nad by the Holy Hall, but I wanted to na them myself. Our daughter is Vilina Sang Limitless, and our son is Ares Sang Limitless. You can give them nicknas, too."
Talking as they went, the two arrived at Saint Pei Hall.
Two Little Angels were crawling and playing on a bed.
The bed was scattered with toys and dolls, and it was surrounded by a wooden railing to prevent the two of them from accidentally rolling off while playing or sleeping.
"Mommy~~"
The two Little Angels were almost a year old, and their milky voices were just adorable.
Sang Luo picked up the two soft, sweet-slling Little Angels, her eyes curving into a smile. "They’ve gotten much chubbier."
