Anubia bent down and rolled up her pant leg. He gently cupped the uninjured part of her calf, and with his other hand, he carefully cleaned her wound with Water, disinfected it with iodine, then applied a cool, soothing ointnt.
Sang Luo looked down at his slender, beautiful fingers, then up at his face. The familiar brows and eyes, so refined and dashing. "...That Insect Clan form from a mont ago... that’s your true appearance, isn’t it?"
"Not exactly. It’s what I look like after rging with the Insect Emperor. It’s six parts , four parts him."
"What a sha. I still haven’t seen what you truly look like."
"The Insect Clan doesn’t have a fully human form, only a human-like mimicry. The appearance I showed you before is the one I most wanted you to see." Anubia smiled at Sang Luo. "If Luoluo wants to see my true form, I can maintain that appearance while I’m with you. To the Insect Clan, this physical form is just a mask that can be changed at any ti."
"Let see."
"Alright." His form shifted again, transforming into a true mber of the Insect Clan. His facial features bore a strong resemblance to his Beastman form, only lacking that hint of flamboyant beauty and gaining a touch of refined handsoness.
Sang Luo blinked in surprise. She finally understood why the Anu of the past had seed so dashingly unrestrained, yet was also incredibly innocent. His true face was the pure, innocent type, like a boy fresh out of high school, making one want to tease and flirt with him.
Sang Luo stared at him for a long ti, which made Anubia grow a little embarrassed. The tips of his ears turned red. "Don’t I look good?"
’He’d felt his true form wasn’t superior enough back then, so he had sculpted another face—the most handso one he could imagine, one he thought she would like.’
Sang Luo planted a loud kiss on his cheek. Anubia’s face instantly flushed crimson. His breath caught in his throat as he looked up and t Sang Luo’s smiling, almond-shaped eyes, brimming with affection and encouragent.
’During those years of slumber, he had retained a sliver of consciousness. He often dread of these eyes. They obsessed him, captivated him... He longed to return to her side, to be gazed upon by her like this forever.’
"Luoluo." He suddenly pressed her head against his chest, his voice muffled. "Don’t look at anymore."
"Hm? Why?"
’He’s my own Beast Husband. Can’t I look at him? Kiss him? Touch him?’
"I won’t be able to resist..." The young man lowered his head slightly, the tip of his nose brushing against her cheek. His breath grew scorching hot. "...kissing you."
"Then do it. Kiss right here~" Sang Luo puckered her bright red lips.
Anubia’s pupils darkened. Cupping the back of her head with one hand, he kissed her hard.
"Mmph~"
Sang Luo had only ant to tease him, but she never expected his assault to be so fierce. The deep kiss had a biting edge to it, as if he were trying to pour all his years of longing into this one mont.
He kissed her until she was breathless, her body going limp and her mind blank. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, letting him take from her as he pleased.
After more than ten minutes, the kiss finally ended.
Anubia released her. A thin thread... still connected their lips.
Sang Luo’s heart pounded and her face flushed. The young man lowered his head, his gaze fixed on her lips, now swollen, vividly red, and glistening with a tempting sheen. He leaned in again and licked them gently.
’His lips and tongue were incredibly soft.’
Sang Luo felt her breath catch.
She was genuinely afraid she’d lose control. Indulging in passion now would get in the way of more important things. She gently pushed against his chest, forcing her breathing to steady. "Anu, I’ve missed you so much too. We can catch up later. For now, just tell what’s been going on with you."
Anubia pulled Sang Luo onto his lap. He looked at her disheveled collar, which revealed her collarbone and the expanse of her fair, delicate skin, and his throat tightened.
He lowered his head and nipped her shoulder lightly before speaking in a low, husky voice thick with unfulfilled desire. "After I was revived, I left the Beast World Continent and returned to the Star Vortex Insect Nest. I killed the Insect King of Zone 3 and beca the new king here."
"You’re the king of... Zone 3! The ’Shura Evil King’?"
Sang Luo had gathered intelligence on the Insect Clan. The Star Vortex Insect Nest was divided into five major zones, with the Insect King of Zone 3 being the most infamous. This was because the zone’s newly appointed king was so cruel and bloodthirsty that the outside world had dubbed him the Shura Evil King!
’How could Anu be the Shura Evil King?’
’He doesn’t seem like one at all.’
’Her Anu is so adorable.’
Anubia chuckled lightly. "Just rumors from the outside world."
Sang Luo nodded. His aura was now unfathomable; she had only sensed sothing similar from Fei Yuan and the others. "Are you in the Supre Realm now?"
"Yes, I absorbed the power of the Creation Furnace."
"No wonder the Furnace cracked. And here I worked so hard to get that treasure."
"I’ll make it up to you in the future."
"You can make it up to right now."
"Oh? What do you need to do?"
Sang Luo didn’t answer the question directly, instead asking another one. "Why did you run away back then?"
"I..." Anubia’s voice faltered as he looked at her. "Luoluo, why did you co to the Star Vortex Insect Nest? Were you captured by soone? I can get you out of here."
"I just got here and you already want to send away?"
"Staying by my side..." His voice faltered. "It isn’t safe inside the Star Vortex Insect Nest. Every extra mont you stay is another mont in danger."
"Unfortunately, I can’t leave yet. I need to find sothing."
"Whatever you’re looking for, I can help you. I’m more familiar with this place than you are."
Sang Luo could tell he was hiding sothing from her. She accepted that everyone had their secrets. Even she couldn’t tell her Beast Husbands everything, let alone Anu, from whom she had been separated for over a decade. Still, she remained cautious and didn’t reveal her full intentions. "I want to make a trip to the experint base," she said.
"The experint base? There’s nothing in there. What you’re looking for probably isn’t there."
"My King, a new type of mutated, high-level contaminated species has appeared at the border," soone reported.
Anu withdrew his gaze and patted her on the back lightly. "Luoluo, I have so things to deal with. You get so rest first. Rember, don’t run around. The Star Vortex Insect Nest isn’t as safe as you think."
Sang Luo swallowed the words she was about to say. She nodded and gave him a thoughtful smile. "Go on, take care of your business."
"Mhm."
Anubia walked to the door, then turned to give her one last, deep look before leaving.
...
Outside the Star Vortex Insect Nest was a sun-like star, making the environnt similar to the Beast World Continent, except here there was one sun and three moons.
Sang Luo hadn’t bothered to calculate how many hours were in a day here; she simply felt content when she woke up. The sky outside was still dark. She couldn’t tell if the first night had yet to pass, or if it was already the evening of the next day.
"Awake, little thing?"
A cold, dangerous, and faintly amused voice reached her ears, making Sang Luo jolt. She snapped her head toward the sound.
A silver-haired man had casually pulled up a chair and was sitting by the bed.
He sat casually, his upper body leaning back slightly, toying with a gun in his hand. A dark coat was draped over the back of the chair.
Moonlight spilled through the window, casting his cold, sharp-featured face half in light and half in shadow. He radiated an intense pressure, a piercingly dangerous aura.
Sang Luo’s eyes fixed on the gun in his hand—it was the one she always carried!
"Anu? What... are you doing with my gun?"
A sense of unease washed over Sang Luo. She tried to get out of bed, but she couldn’t move.
Only then did she realize that her hands and feet were firmly shackled to the bed.
