...
Sang Luo woke to find herself lying on a large, soft bed. She looked up at the familiar vermilion rafters and the magnificent furnishings of the hall—this was Fei Yuan’s main bedchamber.
Her clothes had been changed into a multi-colored brocade robe, both elegant and alluring.
’Did he change them?’
It seed Fei Yuan had made it through his Nirvana. She inwardly sighed in relief.
Sang Luo adjusted her clothes and was about to get out of bed when Fei Yuan entered, carrying a dicinal broth.
His ink-black hair was unbound, cascading lazily down his back. He wore only a wide, crimson brocade robe, the satin fabric draping smoothly from his shoulders and outlining the broad, handso lines of his back. A simple golden cord with a jade hook cinched his lean waist. He was tall and slender, a figure that inspired desire at a glance.
His face was even more devastatingly enchanting. When he smiled at soone, a re hint of affection was enough to make one drown in his gaze and be utterly lost.
To say nothing of his full affection.
Seeing Fei Yuan looking so full of life, Sang Luo was montarily dazed, thinking she was still dreaming.
It wasn’t until he set the broth on the table, sat on the edge of the bed, and stroked her hair back from her forehead that she knew it was real. "Luo’er, your singing that night was so beautiful," he said. "It lted this Emperor’s heart. You’re no worse than the singers the palace pays a fortune for. From now on, you’ll have to sing a little for every night."
Sang Luo’s face flushed, and she buried her head in the blankets. ’This guy! He must be teasing on purpose!’
She was well aware of how tone-deaf she was.
Fei Yuan pulled back the covers and gathered her into his arms, the smile on his handso face deepening.
Sang Luo sat on his lap, her arms draped around his long neck. She gazed up at his face, and as she looked, she found herself lost in thought... ’Every ti this guy completes his Nirvana, he becos even more striking.’
She stared at his alluring, crimson lips and, as if to vent her frustration, deliberately bit down on them.
Fei Yuan’s breath hitched. The arm around her lower back tightened, then loosened. His other long-fingered hand traveled slowly up her spine, and his jade-like fingertips threaded through her soft hair to cup the back of her head. He turned the tables, pulling her into a passionate kiss of his own.
As they kissed, affection gave way to desire...
Fei Yuan’s hand slipped beneath her robes, kneading gently. A soft, bone-ltingly seductive moan escaped Sang Luo’s rosy lips. His gaze instantly grew hotter as he pushed her down onto the bed, seeking his pleasure with abandon.
Another night of passion filled the room.
When Sang Luo awoke again, it was the next morning. She lay on the bed, feeling languid and boneless, too tired to even lift a finger.
After their wild night, she had forgotten to drink the dicine. By morning, it was cold through and through, so Fei Yuan went out to brew her another bowl.
After feeding her the dicine, Fei Yuan happily pulled her into his arms for a kiss. Still not satisfied, he then bent down and kissed her slightly bulging belly, feeling an indescribable sense of contentnt.
Sang Luo touched her stomach in surprise. "Ah Yuan, my belly’s gotten a little bigger."
She had already been pregnant with this child for a year. With her previous pregnancies, she would have given birth long ago, but this ti her belly had shown no change, not even a hint of a baby bump. It was only when Fei Yuan had just kissed it that she’d looked down and suddenly noticed it was a little rounder than before.
With her clothes off, a slight, rounded curve was visible on her abdon. But once covered, it was still hardly noticeable.
"What did this Emperor tell you? Do it with more often, and the child will be born sooner," Fei Yuan said, happily stroking her belly without batting an eye.
Sang Luo shot him a glare and said shyly, "But we can’t... every single day... without any restraint!"
"See? It’s fine."
Sang Luo decided to ignore him. But as she got out of bed to walk, she realized her back was terribly sore. Her legs gave way, and she nearly fell to the floor. Fei Yuan quickly scooped her back onto his lap, his hand gently kneading her lower back to ease the ache. "This Emperor was very gentle last night," he murmured.
"...I was sleeping on stone for over half a month. That’s why my back is killing !"
"So delicate," Fei Yuan chuckled softly. "Let rub it for you. It won’t be sore or painful anymore."
Fei Yuan’s touch was perfect—not too light, not too heavy. But as he massaged her, his hands began to wander.
Sang Luo blushed and swatted his roguish hand away. Feeling much more comfortable, she slipped off his lap, got out of bed to put on her shoes, and patted her empty stomach. "I’m starving. Let’s go get sothing to eat."
"It’s already been prepared."
Servants brought in dishes one by one and set them on the table.
Exotic delicacies, Spirit Fruits, and Immortal Vegetables.
Sang Luo ate the al with great satisfaction.
After she had eaten her fill, Fei Yuan led her to the vanity, did her hair and makeup simply, and then carried her to Yangxin Hall.
The ti for the morning court session had long passed. Fei Yuan had already inford his subordinates that he would not be holding court for the ti being.
A considerable amount of state business had piled up.
Unlike a carefree Beast Emperor such as Lou Xianyue, Fei Yuan handled all state affairs personally. He would never allow an outsider to take control.
When he focused on his duties alone, he spent most of his ti in his study.
This ti, however, he had all the docunts moved to Yangxin Hall.
Fei Yuan settled Sang Luo on his lap, then picked up his brush and dipped it in ink.
Sang Luo glanced at the few Servants scattered around the hall and complained in a low voice, "You’re handling official business. What am I doing here?"
Fei Yuan glanced at her belly, his smile brimming. "We’re letting the child learn by observation from a young age. The education of a monarch must begin in the womb."
"You! If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable!"
"Heh." A low, pleased chuckle rumbled in Fei Yuan’s chest. He unhurriedly reviewed a morial with one hand while his other long, jade-like hand kneaded her soft waist.
"Your Majesty, lust is clouding your judgnt!" she said through gritted teeth, trying to get off his lap.
Fei Yuan pulled her back into his embrace. "This Emperor is happy to let it be clouded just this once."
Seeing she was getting a little angry, Fei Yuan finished reviewing two morials and set down his brush. He retrieved a few fruits from his spatial storage, holding a plump, glistening piece of fruit between his long, elegant fingers to feed her.
Sang Luo took a bite and imdiately noticed sothing different about the fruit. It was even more nourishing than an Immortal Rank Spirit Fruit. After eating just one, she felt a faint, warm current in her abdon, and it felt as if the long gestation period for this child had shortened considerably.
"What kind of fruit is this?"
"A Divine Rank Spirit Fruit," Fei Yuan said. "They’re almost extinct now. My Phoenix Family’s imperial treasury still has so in its reserves, enough to nourish you through this pregnancy."
Sang Luo touched her belly. It did seem a little bigger.
"Divine Rank fruits can shorten the gestation period?"
"The gestation period for the offspring of a King Beast is long, fundantally because they require a trendous amount of energy to develop. If they don’t have enough, they fall dormant inside the mother’s body, prolonging the pregnancy. The power contained within a Divine Rank Spirit Fruit is exceptionally abundant."
"Tell honestly, how many years will this pregnancy last?"
"A hundred years."
Her eyes widened. "That’s too long!"
Fei Yuan rubbed her belly, a thoughtful look flashing in his dark eyes. "But your constitution is sowhat different. When you were pregnant with Little Ye, I thought it would take twenty or thirty years at a minimum, yet you gave birth after only one. And the child was perfectly healthy, with no signs of underdevelopnt..."
"With this one, provided you have enough nourishnt... five to ten years, perhaps."
