Si Ye gave Sang Luo a map.

The East Continent’s territory was even more vast than the Western Continent’s, its landmass nearly twice as large. The various powers were intricately intertwined, creating a level of complexity far beyond that of the other continents.

The East Continent could be roughly divided into five major regions.

The Central Rich Plain, the Northern Extre Cold Ice Field, the Southern Plains and Hills, the Western Barbarian Rainforest, and the Eastern Fla Plateau.

The King Beasts of the major races chose their lands and lived there, keeping each other in check and maintaining a delicate balance.

Sang Luo had no idea where the Yun Hua City that Si Ye ntioned was, so she did a quick study. After finding the city’s marked location in the southern part of the map, she looked surprised. "You’re going to the Southern region? But I heard it’s been sealed off, and outsiders can’t get in."

"Others might not be able to get in, but they can’t stop ." Si Ye snorted lightly. "There’s nowhere in this world I can’t go."

"Really?! I’ve always wanted to go to the Southern region! If you can really help get there, you’d be doing a huge favor!"

Hearing her suddenly excited voice, Si Ye felt an inexplicable warmth in his heart and asked subconsciously, "So, for this huge favor... how will you repay ?"

"I’ll give you a litter of cubs!"

Si Ye stumbled and nearly fell, his limbs refusing to obey him. He thought he had misheard. "Wh-what?"

Sang Luo couldn’t even wrap both her arms around his neck. She pressed her lips against the feathers near his ear, nuzzled him, and whispered again in a soft, sweet voice, "I said~ I’ll give you a cub. How about it?"

’In the Beast World, what repaynt is more precious than an heir?’

Luckily, Si Ye was currently in his beast form. If he were human, Sang Luo would have seen the young man’s face and neck turn completely red as he stamred out, "I-I was just saying... I didn’t really expect you to repay ..."

"But what if I want to have one with you?" Sang Luo said with a beaming smile, reaching out to stroke his neck.

Si Ye’s body grew even stiffer. The patch of skin the female had touched beca scorching hot. ’We’ve only properly known each other for a day! Even counting the ti she was in disguise at the Treasure Stone Pavilion, it’s only been three or four days. How—how can she say sothing like that so casually!’

’This female is truly shaless!’

’Not demure in the slightest!’

’She! She’s definitely said this to more than just one Male Beast!’

’Just like that other female... once they get what they want, they no longer cherish it...’

Si Ye’s tone turned icy. "I promised to bring you here. I don’t need your repaynt!"

Sang Luo said, "I’m serious."

"..."

Si Ye ignored her for the rest of the flight.

Sang Luo lay on his back, bored. She looked like a frost-bitten eggplant—dejected and pitifully endearing. Si Ye forced his attention away from her... but after a while, she complained that he was flying too fast and the wind was making her cold. Subconsciously, Si Ye slowed down, delaying their journey by nearly half a day.

The sky was getting dark, and they still had several hundred kiloters to go. Si Ye thought for a mont and decided to find a small, nearby city to stop for the night. He would let Sang Luo rest at an inn; females were more delicate, after all.

The city was desolate and empty. There were few pedestrians on the deserted streets, a stark contrast to the other cities Sang Luo had seen on the East Continent.

Si Ye led her around, and after searching for a long ti, they only managed to find a small, three-story inn.

After Sang Luo inquired with the Shopkeeper, she learned that turmoil in the Southern region had affected the nearby border towns. The Beastn in the city had either died or packed up and left. Now, this was the only inn remaining. The Shopkeeper’s family had been rooted here for generations, and since he had no heirs, he hadn’t moved, planning to live out his days and be buried in his holand.

However, in the last few days, many Beastn had co from outside to investigate, and the inn was left with only one room with a large bed. If the two of them had arrived a mont later, they probably wouldn’t have even gotten that.

This ti, there really were no other rooms.

Sang Luo turned to Si Ye and said, "We only have a few hundred kiloters left. We could just travel through the night. I can handle it." As she spoke, she yawned, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

"...You should rest for the night. There’s no rush. Besides, I have sothing I need to investigate nearby." After a mont of hesitation, Si Ye took the last room with the large bed.

The room was simple, less than twenty square ters. The only furnishings were a wooden table and chair, and a large bed covered with a white cotton quilt.

Si Ye stood at the door, looking at the shabby room. His handso brows furrowed so tightly you could’ve killed a fly between them.

"Um, I can sleep on the floor," Sang Luo offered, trying to defuse the situation.

"..." ’There’s no way I’m letting a female sleep on the floor.’ Si Ye forcefully pushed her onto the bed. "You rest. I’m going out to scout around."

With that, he vanished.

Sang Luo was indeed exhausted. She wasn’t picky about her comforts—a large bed or small, a soft bed or hard, as long as it was a bed, she could sleep soundly. She had just laid down for a mont before she was fast asleep, snoring softly.

An hour later, Si Ye returned. He saw Sang Luo sleeping soundly and paused in his tracks.

His gaze lingered on her fair, gentle face for a mont. The young man’s face flushed slightly, and he turned to look out the window. ’This is the first ti I’ve shared a room with a female... no, wait, this should be the second ti...’

Si Ye didn’t disturb her. He placed the things he had bought on the table, pulled over a wooden chair, sat down, and took out a few books from his spatial storage to read.

...

Sang Luo was woken by hunger. She hadn’t eaten much all day, and the first thing she noticed upon waking was the fragrant aroma of food.

Si Ye had moved a chair to the bedside. A book covered his face as he sat with one leg crossed over the other, resting with his eyes closed, his posture both lazy and noble.

The mont Sang Luo woke up, he reached up, removed the book from his face to reveal his exceptionally handso features, and stood to get the food from the table. The al, which had grown a little cold, beca warm again after passing through his hands. "You haven’t eaten all day, so you must be hungry. Have sothing to eat first. If it’s not enough, I’ll go downstairs and buy so more."

Sang Luo didn’t stand on ceremony. She took the food and tried a bite. It tasted pretty good.

"Did you buy this specially for ?"

"...I bought it on my way back."

"Well, thank you anyway." Sang Luo picked up a few Green Fruits and nibbled on them. Male Beasts didn’t particularly care for this kind of fruit; it was usually a favorite among females.

"By the way, you went out just now. What were you investigating?" No matter how slow Sang Luo might be, even she could sense the strange atmosphere in the city.

"The Southern region is closed off to outsiders, so we don’t know what’s happening inside for now. But strange things have been happening repeatedly in the border towns near the south. This city is called Si’an City. In recent months, many Beastn have died mysteriously. Their bodies were dumped in the wilderness, their Beast Crystals gone," Si Ye said in a low voice. "I suspect the Abyssal Demon Beasts are active again."

[Ah Ze, what’s an Abyssal Demon Beast?] Sang Luo subconsciously asked Ah Ze, her long-lived encyclopedia.

There was no imdiate reply.

So, Sang Luo had no choice but to ask Si Ye, "What’s an Abyssal Demon Beast?"
