The retreat route for the three of them had already been planned by Gorilla. They passed through the Great Tree Ball Ground, then moved forward along the foundation walls of the Tai Ping Ring, where they could be protected by the military forces stationed on the Ring. Even the Five Mountains Coalition was wary of this military power.
After circumventing the Divine Poison of the Gods, they entered an adjacent large district. Gorilla had arranged a maglev vehicle there, allowing the three of them to return to the branch office quickly.
The trio sped along the Tai Ping Ring, as awkward as three mice scurrying close to the wall. The garrisoned troops above, not nurous in non-warti, looked down curiously at the three individuals. One lieutenant even suspected they were escaping prisoners. He scanned their faces with his equipnt, searching the system for any criminal records.
The system BEEPED, and a dark blue notification box popped up: TOP SECRET: INSUFFICIENT CLEARANCE!
The lieutenant was startled. Should I take my n to offer protection? he wondered, but then worried about making a blunder. While he hesitated, the three had already gone far.
When Gorilla saw that they had finally left the Divine Poison of the Gods behind and entered the neighboring safe district, he heaved a long sigh of relief.
Taking the lead, he said, "There's an out-of-business repair shop over there. The car I prepared is inside."
But just as they reached the entrance of the repair shop, Chen Gu and Man Suling suddenly grabbed him, both staring cautiously at the shop's tattered tal sh gate.
CLANG, CLANG—
The gate suddenly rattled, and a figure shrouded in a black robe appeared behind it.
He had his head bowed and wore a long hood. Even though sunlight bathed the land, standing seven or eight ters away from him, the three still felt waves of chilling cold.
Gorilla and Man Suling saw an emblem embroidered on the chest of his black robe: a bow and arrow glowing with a dark silver light.
The figure slowly lifted his head. From under the shadow of the hood, two scarlet chanical eyes lit up, accompanied by a series of electronic sounds that made one's skin crawl, "HEH HEH HEH..."
"To think, there's an unexpected bonus. Aside from this Divine Bone, there are also you two traitors."
"This trip has been quite fruitful."
SHRED—
The black robe instantly disintegrated, revealing a gleaming black tallic body underneath. This divine body, originally human-like in appearance, began to bloom from within!
Each component of the body transford into a shape resembling chrysanthemum petals, continuously splitting and reassembling. Amidst a strange GRIND, GRIND, GRIND sound, it morphed into a colossal dusa, four ters tall, with a head of tallic snake hair!
Unlike the dusa of myth, she didn't have just one snake tail. Behind her sturdy torso trailed five snake tails, each tipped with a different weapon: an energy cannon, a high-powered chainsword, a plasma capture net, a sonic mine, and a kinetic heavy-tal crossbow.
Her head's structure was the most bizarre. Only her brain was a normal biological organism, encased in a transparent sphere filled with a light blue, viscous fluid, embedded among the tallic snake hair.
Gorilla and Man Suling couldn't help but shiver. "It's Reaper! One of the Angel Envoys!"
They had gathered thorough intelligence on True Knowledge Sin and knew this was one of the most terrifying Angel Envoys, with nurous confird kills of professionals.
All three of them were already seriously injured, yet now they faced such a fearso enemy. Gorilla clenched his teeth and moved to the front, his hands trembling slightly, readying his abilities.
Chen Gu sighed inwardly. I'm on the brink of danger, he thought. Unleashing my power again will likely plant the seeds for a future descent into degeneracy.
However, the enemy before them was clearly beyond what Gorilla and Man Suling could handle.
He raised his hand to pull Gorilla back when, as if by telepathy, his gaze suddenly shifted to the side.
Along the street running in front of the repair shop gate, two figures slowly approached: Chen Jixian, with i Lixue in tow.
The older son, eyelids half-lowered, casually unbuttoned and removed his uniform jacket as he walked, tossing it to i Lixue, who trailed behind him. She caught it deftly.
Chen Jixian loosened his shirt collar and cuffs, rolling up the latter to allow for easier movent.
Then, he extended his right hand. With a SNAP, a tal rod sprang out from the side of his boot. He grasped it firmly and pressed down. BZZZT— A vivid blue energy erupted from one end of the rod. Eight thick beams of energy poured out for over ten ters, then rotated and converged on the rod, forming a square hamrhead the size of a waterlon.
Chen Jixian gripped the energy warhamr. With a stomp, CRACK! The ground beneath his feet shattered as he launched himself forward like a cannonball.
CLANG! He smashed open the closed tal sh gate and swung the warhamr in an upward arc.
THUD!
The energy warhamr accurately struck the tallic dusa's chin, blasting her into the air, her snake hair and five tails flailing wildly.
Chen Jixian twisted his body in mid-air, ascending rapidly in a spiral, the warhamr tracing a helical path of light around him. Then, he plunged from hundreds of ters above. With a BOOM, the hamr slamd down, precisely striking the transparent spherical container in the tallic dusa's head.
With a thunderous CRASH, the tallic dusa was smashed into the ground. The earth split open, and the entire repair shop sank dozens of centiters. Buildings collapsed, and dust billowed upwards.
Gorilla and Man Suling watched, dumbfounded. Chen Jixian's fighting style was extrely decisive and clean, without any flashy skills or profound combat techniques. It seed he excelled at just two things: brute force and high speed.
The tallic dusa possessed various abilities and weapons, but she simply couldn't keep up with Chen Jixian's speed and could only endure the beating.
Chen Jixian spun the energy warhamr in his hands. Beams of energy burst forth from the square head, and then he brought the hamr down with imnse force...
The ground of the entire repair shop sank another half ter. The tallic dusa's advanced-technology prosthetic body was completely smashed into an iron pancake. The transparent spherical container shattered, its brain-like contents now nothing more than a mushy pulp.
i Lixue's eyebrows twitched. What a waste! Such a high-ranking Angel Envoy... how many secrets of True Knowledge Sin were hidden in his brain! Smashed into sludge... even more wasteful than Marcus.
She could scold Marcus, but she didn't dare criticize her own boss.
A surge of pride welled up in Chen Gu's heart.
He glanced at the pile of scrap that was once the tallic dusa and gave a mocking smile. So much for your grand entrance. Is this all?
Chen Gu gently patted Gorilla's shoulder, showing off to his old friend with a mix of reserve and pride, "That's my son!"
Gorilla felt a wave of despair. What can I do? I don't have a son! Oh, right, I don't even have a wife... How desolate.
