The prismatic beam of magic carved through the world like a dividing line, slicing the entire space apart as though it were nothing more than a map split down the middle.
It didn't just tear open the ground into a massive chasm—even the star map spread across the sky was cleaved cleanly in two.
Or rather, to be precise, what had been torn apart wasn't Ren Kuroda's "Simulated Star Map" at all—
It was the space itself.
With the collapse of the entire ga dinsion, the star map that perated it naturally vanished along with it.
Under Ophis's attack, this heavily reinforced artificial space began to crack like a giant eggshell, splintering endlessly until it was completely shattered.
The rainbow beam didn't just split the dinsion—it pierced straight through into the human world beyond. Though its power had diminished, it still streaked across the sky like a blade of light, sweeping away every cloud in its path before finally fading into nothingness.
And after doing all that—
Ophis acted as if she had done nothing of consequence.
Without sparing even a glance for Ren's fate, her figure flickered—and in the next instant, she stood beside Vali and the others as though she had always been there.
"Let's go back…"
Vali looked at her, then at the collapsing space around them. His gaze lingered for a mont on the enormous chasm now swallowed in smoke.
In the end, he opened a wormhole once more.
Sirzechs Lucifer and Azazel watched as Vali's group—after turning everything here into utter chaos—prepared to leave just like that.
They wanted to stop them.
But with Ophis standing there, neither dared to make a move.
The oppressive presence of the Infinite Dragon God was overwhelming.
Bluntly put—even though they had the numbers, they would be utterly useless against her.
If they tried to force the issue, the ones who would be wiped out…
might very well be them.
"…Did that half-yokai nad Ren get killed by Ophis?"
As they traveled through the dinsional tunnel, the black-clad nekomata, Kuroka, finally voiced the question that had been nagging at her.
It was a question Vali and Bikou also wanted answered. Both of them turned their eyes toward Ophis.
Under their gazes, the black-haired girl looked down at her own outstretched right hand.
With the disappearance of the "Simulated Star Map," Ophis had returned to her full Dragon God state—and the injury on her palm had completely healed.
Even she couldn't rember the last ti she had been wounded.
"His strength is great," she said calmly. "He will not die so easily. And I have no reason to kill him."
Vali's lips curled into a faint smile.
So there would be another chance.
Another chance to settle the score.
Kuroka and Bikou, on the other hand, clicked their tongues in disbelief.
Even after an attack like that—one that could tear the world apart—
Ren had survived?
A monster among monsters.
—
Because of Ophis's strike, the space replicating Kuoh Academy at a one-to-one scale had begun to collapse entirely.
A fractured dinsion was a deadly place.
Cracks like a spider's web spread across every corner of the world. Everything around them—earth, trees, structures—was slowly being devoured by the void.
Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri had already been gathered together by Sirzechs. The group was preparing to evacuate imdiately.
Compared to the invading faction, Khaos Brigade, their numbers weren't large. Yet after such an intense battle, aside from the now-defected Vali—
not a single mber had been lost.
It was hard not to think—
being on the protagonist's side really did co with benefits.
"…Wait. Where's Ren-sensei? Did he already leave ahead of us?"
As they counted heads, Rias and Sona finally realized that their group wasn't exactly as it had been at the start. They turned questioning eyes toward the Demon King beside them.
"Ren's situation is… complicated," Sirzechs replied. "After I send all of you out, I'll return to find him."
He couldn't lie to his sister—but in their current state, keeping them here would be far too dangerous.
Rias clearly wasn't satisfied with the vague answer. She opened her mouth to press further—
But Sirzechs acted first.
The teleportation magic circle beneath their feet activated, and in an instant, the entire group vanished from the crumbling space.
"Are you really going back to look for him?" Azazel asked, glancing at Sirzechs. "After taking an attack like that from Ophis… no one should be able to survive."
He didn't need to say it.
Sirzechs himself thought the sa.
To take that attack head-on—even a top-tier destruction god would likely perish.
Ren's chances of survival were… slim.
"Even so," Sirzechs said with a wry smile, "if I don't bring him back, Rias will never forgive ."
He paused.
"And strictly speaking, Ren was a witness to this conference. Even if he's dead… we have a responsibility to recover his body."
At that, Michael and Azazel could only nod and wish him luck before leaving the space one after another.
Unlike Sirzechs, who was one of seven Demon Kings—
if he fell, it wouldn't destabilize the Underworld too severely.
But for the Angels and Fallen Angels, Michael and Azazel were pillars holding everything together.
If they died here, chaos would erupt instantly.
—
The space teetered on the brink of total collapse.
The environnt now resembled the end of the world itself.
With each passing second, expanding spatial rifts devoured everything in their reach.
Anything sucked into those cracks—
if fortunate, might drift into the gaps between dinsions.
If not—
it would be shredded to pieces instantly by the violent spatial currents within.
—
In another part of the collapsing world, far from Sirzechs—
three figures moved cautiously, weaving through the chaotic currents as they searched.
Two won.
One man.
There was no need to guess their identities.
They were Yasaka, the nekomata, and the spirit of a samurai.
Unlike the others, the nekomata and the samurai spirit were bound to Ren by contract.
They knew one thing for certain—
Ren Kuroda was still alive.
If he had died, their contracts would have been severed. They would not be able to remain in this space.
But through that sa connection, they could also feel it—
Ren's condition had fallen into extre weakness.
He might not even be able to move.
"Are you certain my brother is still within this area?" Yasaka asked, her expression tight with urgency as she looked at the nekomata and the samurai spirit.
Ti was running out.
If they couldn't find Ren and escape before the space collapsed completely—
they might be lost in another dinsion forever.
Or simply die here.
"His presence is too faint," the nekomata said bitterly, scanning the shattered landscape before them. "We can only pinpoint a general area… but he should be sowhere nearby."
Before them lay a world reduced to ruin—fractured earth, drifting spatial debris, and the ever-present threat of annihilation.
In a place like this—
how were they supposed to comb through the wreckage and find him?
