The descendants of the forr Devil Kings that Sirzechs and the others had just slain left behind small, snake-shaped strands of energy.
Even though Sirzechs's Power of Destruction—far stronger and more refined than Rias's—had completely annihilated their bodies, the "snakes" within them remained intact.
Sirzechs had inherited the Power of Destruction from his mother's Bael lineage, and at his current level, there were almost no beings he couldn't erase.
And yet—
These "snakes" floating in the air remained untouched.
With a single glance, Sirzechs and Michael imdiately recognized the nature of that power.
The Infinite Dragon God—Ophis.
If the source was a being known as "infinite," then it was only natural that even Sirzechs's destruction couldn't erase it.
Before such an existence, even soone as powerful as Sirzechs couldn't help but fall short.
"So the ones who empowered these descendants of the forr Devil Kings… were granted strength by Ophis?" Azazel frowned slightly. "Does that an Ophis is part of the Khaos Brigade as well? And that power we just experienced—the one that stripped away our racial traits—was that also her doing?"
The power of a Dragon God far exceeded their understanding. Even sothing on the level of rewriting the rules of existence wouldn't be entirely surprising coming from such a being.
Michael, however, shook his head.
"If that power ca from Ophis, it doesn't quite make sense," he said calmly. "She already granted these mbers of the Khaos Brigade her 'snakes.' Why would she then weaken her own allies with that sa power?"
"Could it be… that this ability affects everyone indiscriminately?"
As Azazel and Michael debated, Sirzechs remained silent, studying the "snake" in his hand thoughtfully.
"Rather than speculate," he said at last, "why don't we see for ourselves? The surge of magic and the disturbances coming from that direction are overwhelming. That should be the main battlefield."
A distance of dozens of kiloters ant little to beings of their caliber.
In just a few breaths, the three leaders of the Biblical factions arrived at the battlefield where Ren Kuroda and Ophis were clashing.
What greeted them was devastation.
The entire area had been reduced to ruins. The ground itself had been gouged away, lowered by dozens of centiters—as if layers of earth had been forcibly peeled off.
But that wasn't what shocked them the most.
What truly stunned them—
What made even these titans of the world show visible alarm—
Was the sight of the two figures locked in high-speed combat at the center of it all.
With the Simulated Star Creation Map activated, the rate at which Ren's magical energy was being consud had skyrocketed—from sothing like a single-cylinder engine to a roaring eight-cylinder monster.
Even with his vast reserves of power, it was beginning to push him to his limits.
Leaving aside the countless minor fighters scattered across the battlefield—
The targets of his Simulated Star Creation Map weren't limited to Ophis alone.
Sirzechs, Michael, Azazel, Vali—
All of them were among the world's top-tier powerhouses.
Affecting so many at once placed an enormous burden on Ren.
Worse still, once the star map was deployed, even he couldn't selectively exclude targets.
Anyone within its range—
Friend or foe—
Would be subjected to its effects.
Ren's body now shimred with starlight. The black markings of his yōkai form, combined with the drifting particles of light around him, elevated his presence to sothing almost otherworldly.
And the power of the Simulated Star Creation Map had indeed worked on Ophis.
Ren still rembered clearly—
Just minutes ago, she had shown a noticeable flicker of emotion for the first ti.
A dragon—revered as a Dragon God—
Had been stripped of her "dragon" attribute.
Her overall strength had been reduced by more than half.
At first, seeing Ophis so heavily weakened, Ren had believed he might finally have a chance to win.
But reality proved otherwise.
Even with more than half her power sealed away—
Ophis remained an opponent he could not defeat.
Because half of infinity…
Was still infinity.
That said, compared to before, Ophis could no longer handle Ren's attacks with the sa effortless ease.
A wave of black, sludge-like darkness surged toward her once more.
This ti, Ophis frowned slightly as she stepped back, then chose to erase it entirely using pure magical power.
Against the force known as "All the Evils of This World," she remained wary.
Her instincts told her—
That touching such a substance would be extrely troubleso.
Even her power—sothing that couldn't be destroyed even by Sirzechs's Power of Destruction—was easily corroded and devoured by that black sludge.
With no better counterasure available, Ophis resorted to the sa thod each ti:
She blocked the sludge with her own magic—
Then detonated that portion of her power without hesitation, completely annihilating the invading darkness.
For an ordinary being, such a reckless expenditure of magical energy would have drained them dry long ago.
But for Ophis—
It was no issue at all.
After all—
She was the dragon of infinity.
The massive bursts of magic exploded violently, erasing both the black sludge and themselves from existence.
As smoke and dust blanketed the battlefield—
Ren moved.
Using the teleportation ability of the Sword of Heavenly Flash, he appeared instantly before Ophis—
And brought his blade down in a decisive strike.
"Fūrinkazan Secret Art—Destruction: Bukyoku!"
A prismatic slash tore through the smoke—
And even split open the space between them.
Unlike his previous techniques, this strike lacked flashy effects.
It was simple.
Unadorned.
But precisely because of that—
It was the most dangerous attack he had unleashed yet.
With no room to evade, Ophis raised her slender arm—
And caught the blade of Shinyū with her bare hand.
A thin line of golden blood slowly trickled from her palm.
Having lost the natural resilience of her dragon body, her physical strength and defense had clearly been significantly weakened—even if her magical power remained imnse.
And yet—
Even Ren's strongest strike had been stopped… with a bare hand.
Seeing this, Ren knew.
There was no chance of victory.
Still, he didn't look discouraged.
Instead, he smiled faintly at Ophis.
"Now this feels a bit more like a fight," he said. "Even a child, if they're holding a blade, can pose at least a little threat to a dragon… right?"
Ophis, as always, responded with that sa expressionless face.
Since the mont she appeared, only two things had ever stirred any visible emotion in her—
The power of "All the Evils of This World"—
And the Simulated Star Creation Map.
Other than that—
She remained exactly as she was now.
Calm.
Blank.
Unfathomable.
