"So this… this is my elder brother's true yokai form? Just as I thought—powerful and unbelievably cool!"
Yasaka had already seen Ren Kuroda drive back the White Dragon Emperor once before. Coupled with the overwhelming aura he was radiating now, she simply couldn't imagine him losing. In the end, she nodded and accepted his orders, leading the nekomata and the samurai spirit away from the battlefield.
As they withdrew, Yasaka glanced back at the sky. Two streaks of light clashed at blinding speed, colliding again and again with thunderous booms that shook the air itself. Each impact sent shockwaves rolling across the heavens. Watching one of those streaks, Yasaka couldn't help but feel her heart stir with admiration.
"Right? Right, Yasaka-sama? You think so too, don't you? Ren-sama's yokai form is both strong and incredibly cool!"
The nekomata bead, practically bouncing with excitent.
"Honestly, I don't get it. With Ren-sama's current power, he could stay in his yokai form for long periods without any issue. And yet, he always insists on going back to his human appearance. What's so great about being human? When he's like this—this is the real master of the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons!"
The nekomata ca from the world of the Hyakki Yagyō and had long been close to a certain snow woman from a neighboring clan. Influenced by the yokai of that group, she firmly believed that Ren in his yokai state was the true "Lord of a Hundred Demons."
Of course, Ren in his normal state was brighter, gentler, and still imnsely powerful. But compared to his yokai form, he lacked that overwhelming, untouchable presence—the wild, arrogant, battle-hungry spirit that defined an oni.
"I wouldn't say that," the samurai spirit interjected calmly, offering a different perspective.
"Appearing weaker than one truly is can also be a valid strategy in battle. Ren-sama is not only powerful—his intellect far surpasses ours as well. He's not the type to charge in like a mindless beast.
"And given his personality… I'd say he does this because he enjoys the fight itself. After all, deep down, he carries the blood of an oni. A love for battle is part of his nature."
To the samurai spirit, a true lord was not defined by strength alone. Otherwise, what difference would there be between such a ruler and a re beast—or a king of beasts?
The Lord of a Hundred Demons was one who commanded all yokai. Strength was the foundation, yes—but charisma and presence were the banner. The hundred demons under his command were both shield and sword. And above all, it was wisdom that determined his potential—and the path he would lead them down.
And in the samurai spirit's eyes, Ren Kuroda possessed all of it: overwhelming power, and a mind as deep and unfathomable as the abyss.
Hearing the two of them lavish such praise on Ren, Yasaka found herself montarily stunned.
Weren't these two supposed to be unruly yokai who had been sealed alongside him?
And yet now… sure, they were strong—no doubt about that—but "unruly"? Where? The mont Ren's na ca up, they turned into full-blown fanatics!
"Could it be… they were beaten into submission by my brother while they were sealed? Is that why they admire him so much now?"
With that thought in mind, Yasaka continued moving, though she kept glancing back anxiously at the battle in the sky.
"Even if my brother once drove back the White Dragon Emperor, his strength is being suppressed by the barrier right now," she said, her tone tightening with concern. "We need to destroy it as soon as possible. Otherwise… I'm worried sothing might happen to him."
She thought her reasoning was perfectly sound.
But the mont she finished speaking, both the nekomata and the samurai spirit turned to look at her—
With expressions that clearly said, "Oh no… she's an idiot."
The samurai spirit at least tried to remain composed, but the nekomata didn't even bother hiding her disdain.
She had assud they were all devoted fans of Ren-sama. But now Yasaka was suggesting that Ren might lose?
That wasn't just wrong—it was downright insulting to her idol.
"Nekomata-dono," the samurai spirit said with a sigh, "Yasaka-sama is Ren-sama's sworn sister. Please mind your attitude."
He paused before continuing,
"And I believe Yasaka-sama is simply unfamiliar with Ren-sama's true strength. Her concern is only natural."
Yasaka suddenly felt the urge to take back everything she had just said.
Just as Ren had warned her—these yokai really were unruly…
She was clearly stronger than the nekomata, yet the girl showed her absolutely no respect whatsoever. It seed their so-called "unruliness" was reserved for everyone except Ren—and those close to him.
Still, Yasaka picked up on sothing important in the samurai spirit's words. Her expression shifted to one of confusion as she asked,
"Are you saying… my brother is still holding back significantly, even now while fighting the White Dragon Emperor?"
"Isn't that obvious?" the nekomata snorted, crossing her arms.
"If Ren-sama weren't enjoying himself, soone at that level wouldn't stand a chance the mont he got serious. From what I know, Ren-sama has multiple forms. This is just his initial yokai transformation. He's not even using ten percent of his power yet."
The last ti Ren had summoned them was in another world—one where he had already awakened as a Demon Lord and obtained a power capable of simulating creation itself.
Because of that, the nekomata and the others had a fairly accurate understanding of just how terrifying his strength truly was.
Hearing her say this with such absolute certainty, Yasaka froze.
The level of power Ren and the White Dragon Emperor were displaying right now was already approaching that of a Dragon King.
And yet, according to them… this wasn't even one-tenth of Ren's true strength?
Just how monstrous was her brother, really?
anwhile, in the sky—
"I awaken—As the Two Heavenly Dragons stripped of all by the principle of domination—With envy unbound and dreams unfulfilled—I shall walk the path of the ultimate White Dragon—Juggernaut Drive!"
Vali, who had been locked in fierce combat with Ren, finally began chanting. Even after entering his Balance Breaker, he had found himself completely suppressed by Ren.
This ti, however, no one interrupted him.
And the mont the incantation was complete—
His aura changed instantly.
High-level Sacred Gears granted their users specific attributes. Both the Divine Dividing and the Boosted Gear bestowed imnse "dragon attributes" upon their wielders.
Previously, Vali possessed the traits of a devil, a human, and a dragon.
But now—
The dragon aspect surged explosively, completely overwhelming the other two.
The Vali standing before Ren now felt less like a person… and more like a true dragon.
His aura and magical power swelled to an absurd degree in an instant. The white armor of the White Dragon Emperor thickened, expanding, growing several tis larger than before.
"Half Dinsion!"
As Vali entered his Juggernaut Drive state, the jewels embedded across his armor began to glow simultaneously.
"Divide… Divide… Divide…!"
The effect triggered again and again.
Not only had Vali's own power skyrocketed, but the abilities of his Sacred Gear had been drastically enhanced as well.
Ren, who had been moving through the air like a streak of light, found his speed rapidly diminishing.
After being halved multiple tis in quick succession—
His velocity dropped… to nearly that of his normal state.
