A spray of blood arced into the air.

Kokabiel glanced at his left arm, now split open and bleeding freely—and a smug grin imdiately returned to his face.

"That strange slash earlier… that was the ability of your Sacred Gear, wasn't it?" he sneered. "In that case, using the power of a Holy Sword should be perfectly fair, don't you think?"

He flicked the blood from his blade, confidence surging back into his expression.

His greatest strength—his overwhelming power of light—had just been shattered. In his mind, that couldn't have been Ren's own ability. It had to be the effect of that sword in his hand.

If Ren could rely on a Sacred Gear with anti-demonic properties…

Then he, wielding a Holy Sword, still had the advantage.

"Use whatever you want—Holy Sword, Sacred Gear, anything," Ren replied calmly. "You don't need to make excuses for your own weakness."

He glanced at his injured arm, utterly unconcerned.

"If I told you that attack was my own power—not sothing borrowed from my weapon—you wouldn't believe anyway."

A faint shrug.

"But it doesn't matter. Whether it's a Holy Sword or a Sacred Gear… it's all part of your strength. So stop holding back and use everything you've got."

Earlier, Kokabiel had aid for Ren's heart.

At the last instant, Ren had twisted his body just enough to avoid a fatal hit.

Normally, with his Insight ability, he could have evaded the attack completely unscathed.

But that strange restraining force had slowed him down—

And that was the only reason he'd been injured.

As for Kokabiel's sudden disappearance and reappearance—

That clearly wasn't his innate power either.

It ca from the Holy Sword in his hand.

"Hmph. Refusing to admit you relied on your Sacred Gear?" Kokabiel sneered. "No matter. Like you said, it's still part of your power."

His eyes glead with malicious intent.

"I'll kill you with this renowned Holy Sword of the Church… and pin the bla on the angels. That should move things along nicely."

Ren… and Rias…

Both were targets in Kokabiel's plan.

Originally, he intended to kill Rias first—driving her brother, the Devil King Sirzechs, into a frenzy.

Then he would use a famous Church Holy Sword to kill Ren, shifting the bla onto the angel faction and igniting conflict with the yokai of Kyoto.

Once chaos broke out between devils and angels—

Even Azazel's plans for a three-way peace summit would collapse.

"Holy Sword—Flash!"

As his voice fell, the Holy Sword in Kokabiel's hand blazed with light—

And his body vanished once more.

But this ti—

Ren was ready.

When Kokabiel reappeared behind him for another ambush, Ren didn't dodge.

Instead—

He turned and swung his blade in a direct counterattack.

"Holy Sword—Domination!"

That sa invisible force surged again, attempting to bind Ren's body.

But this ti—

Ren's demonic energy exploded outward in an instant, shattering the restraint.

His body shifted smoothly, evading Kokabiel's strike.

Then, instead of retreating—

He stepped forward.

Closing the distance.

Both hands gripping his blade, Ren drove upward from below, aiming to pierce straight through Kokabiel's skull.

The cold gleam of the blade rapidly filled Kokabiel's vision.

For the first ti—

A flash of panic crossed his face.

"Holy Sword—Blessing!"

The weapon in his hand shifted once more.

A translucent barrier sprang into existence before him, shimring with protective light.

Under the edge of Divine Blessing, the barrier shattered almost instantly—

But that brief mont was enough.

Kokabiel jerked his head aside.

The blade missed its mark.

Instead of piercing through his skull, it carved a deep line across his cheek. Blood sprayed, staining half his face red.

Seizing that sliver of ti, Kokabiel activated Holy Sword—Flash again, retreating and putting distance between them.

"…Your Holy Sword," Ren said, watching him calmly, "is a cut above the ones those two wielders had earlier."

The wound on Ren's arm had already fully healed, thanks to his regeneration.

Now, as he looked at Kokabiel's bloodied face, his interest was clearly focused more on the sword than the man holding it.

He had seen enough.

Kokabiel's own strength…

Didn't even asure up to the White Dragon Emperor in his Balance Breaker state.

His only real advantage lay in his raw magical power—and the sheer density of his light.

As for his sword—

It was impressive.

But in the hands of soone like Kokabiel—

It was wasted.

His swordsmanship wasn't even third-rate.

He couldn't even bring out thirty percent of the blade's true potential.

Honestly, if a skilled knight with weaker magic were wielding it instead—

That would be far more troubleso.

But now—

Ren had already grasped the sword's abilities.

With proper preparation, Kokabiel stood no chance—whether in technique or power.

"You seed convinced my earlier strike ca from my weapon," Ren continued, his tone calm but cutting. "So this ti… I'll show you what real swordsmanship looks like."

His gaze sharpened.

"That sword in your hand is strong. But with you wielding it… it's barely a threat to ."

The provocation landed instantly.

Kokabiel's already unstable temperant snapped.

"Barely a threat?!" he roared, his voice cracking with fury. "You haven't even seen what this sword can really do!"

Light erupted once more.

"Holy Sword—Illusion! Holy Sword—Invisibility!"

Gripping the blade with both hands, Kokabiel unleashed its power again.

A blinding white flash engulfed the battlefield—

And when it faded—

There were five of him.

Five identical Kokabiels surrounded Ren from all directions.

And worse—

The swords in their hands had vanished completely.

Invisible.

Excalibur had once been divided into seven fragnts, each forged into a Holy Sword with a unique ability.

The Sword of Destruction.

The Sword of Imitation.

And the remaining five:

Flash—granting short-range teleportation and acceleration.

Domination—allowing control over an opponent's body, depending on their magical resistance.

Blessing—forming protective barriers.

Illusion—creating false images.

Invisibility—concealing the blade itself.

After stealing these five Holy Swords from the Church, Kokabiel had fused them into one.

The weapon he now wielded possessed all five abilities at once—

Naturally placing it far above the individual swords Xenovia and Irina had used.

And yet—

Ren had called him unworthy of wielding it.

"A Holy Sword is still just a tool!" Kokabiel snarled, his voice dripping with rage. "And you dare say I'm not fit to wield it?!"
