From Villain to Virtual Sweetheart: The Fake Heir's Grand Scheme(BL) Chapter 717: Micah Would Like to Clarify Something
Clyde stumbled a step back as the furious silver-haired boy shoved him. Confusion crept across his face, deepening with every second that passed.
Why was Micah angry?
He replayed the conversation in his head, carefully going through every word he had said and every reaction Micah had shown. He examined it like soone studying a puzzle with a missing piece. Nothing stood out. Nothing seed wrong.
From Clyde’s perspective, everything had been perfectly reasonable. He had asked, and Micah had given his consent. Yet the man in front of him looked like he was about to explode.
Micah stood a few steps away, practically radiating irritation. His cheeks were still flushed from the hot shower he had just taken, a faint pink colouring his pale skin. The bathrobe draped loosely over his body, the belt barely keeping the soft fabric together. Damp strands of silver hair clung to his forehead and temples, still dripping slightly. A faint scent of soap and steam lingered around him.
The sight was... difficult to ignore. Clyde’s eyes lingered for a second longer than necessary.
Micah looked sowhat tempting. Very tempting.
Clyde cleared his throat and forced himself to focus. He bent down, grabbed the furry adult costu from the shopping bag, and lifted it into the air. The soft material flopped slightly as he shook it in front of Micah like evidence.
"Didn’t you say you bought it?" Clyde asked, raising a brow. "Didn’t you say we could try it if I wanted to?"
Micah’s eyes imdiately dropped to the item in Clyde’s hands.
And for a mont... It looked like his brain had stopped working. If soone had placed a kettle on his head, it probably would have whistled from the amount of steam coming out.
His pupils expanded dramatically. His mouth opened so wide that it looked like an ostrich egg could easily fit inside. For several seconds he simply stared, frozen like soone who had just witnessed sothing illegal happening in front of him.
Slowly, stiffly, he raised a finger and pointed at Clyde.
"Where..." His voice cracked. "Where did you get that?"
Clyde blinked. He glanced at Micah. Then he glanced down at the fluffy costu in his hands. Then back at Micah again. The confusion only deepened.
Micah suddenly erupted. "Holy crap!" he burst out, his entire face turning red in an instant. "Are you ssing with ?! Where could I possibly get sothing like that?!"
Clyde looked genuinely stunned. For a mont he didn’t move at all. Then he slowly grabbed the bag again, turning it around to inspect the brand printed on the side as if it might offer so clue.
He gave the bag a little shake. "From... here?" he said uncertainly.
Micah marched forward so quickly the floorboards creaked under his steps. He snatched the bag straight out of Clyde’s hands and began rummaging through it with frantic movents.
His brain was finally starting to catch up. His fingers froze halfway through the bag. The realisation struck him. The bag. This was the bag Georgina had handed him earlier.
Micah’s expression twisted with confusion. "Huh?" he muttered. "Did the teacher make a mistake?"
Across from him, Clyde’s eyes darkened slightly.
Ah. So that was it. That damn woman.
He imdiately understood what had happened. Georgina must have intentionally switched the items or slipped sothing extra into the bag. It was exactly the kind of mischievous trick she would enjoy pulling.
Clyde felt a brief wave of disappointnt wash over him. He had been a little hopeful about Micah’s furry purchase. But he should have known better.
Micah was far too thin-skinned when it ca to anything involving the actual deed. The man could tease endlessly, but the mont things crossed into sothing real, he panicked like a startled cat.
Clyde rubbed the back of his head and sighed. "So," he said casually, "what did you actually buy?"
Micah imdiately grabbed another bag lying on the floor nearby. He lifted it up with an exaggerated flourish, like a magician revealing the real trick. "This!" he declared.
He reached inside and pulled out two neatly folded sets of pyjamas. They were soft cotton sleepwear covered in childish animal patterns, little bears, rabbits, and foxes printed across the fabric in pastel colours.
Micah held them up triumphantly. "Couple pyjamas!" he said proudly.
Clyde stared at the pyjamas. Then he stared at Micah. Then he looked back at the pyjamas again. A small chuckle slipped out before he could stop it.
Of course. How could he not have realised what Micah was thinking?
The boy must have assud Clyde would feel embarrassed wearing sothing so childish. He probably imagined Clyde refusing imdiately, which would then give Micah an excuse to mock him endlessly.
But what Micah didn’t realise was... Clyde actually liked the idea. A lot. The image of Micah wearing those animal-pattern pyjamas flashed through his mind.
Silver hair slightly ssy. Loose cotton sleeves. Sleepy expression. Cute. Dangerously cute.
Clyde had to suppress another laugh.
anwhile, Micah was moving around the room in a flustered rush. He grabbed the furry costu Georgina had given him and stuffed it deep inside the bag before burying the entire thing under a pile of clothes in a nearby closet.
He muttered under his breath while doing it. "Why would she give sothing like this...?" His brows furrowed. "Was it really a mistake?"
No matter how much he thought about it, Micah couldn’t figure out Georgina’s motive. She had always been eccentric, but this felt strangely deliberate.
Still... There was no point in overthinking it. He decided the best course of action was simple. Pretend it never happened.
Micah grabbed the belt of his bathrobe and began loosening it, preparing to change into sothing more comfortable. But just as he started, he heard Clyde hiss behind him.
Micah paused. He slowly turned his head. Clyde was standing there rubbing his side, his face twisted in mild discomfort.
Micah stared at him blankly. His lips twitched. "It’s not like he got stabbed with a sabre or sothing," Micah muttered under his breath. "What is with that reaction?"
Even though his mouth continued to complain, his body moved toward Clyde anyway. He sighed. "Let see."
Without waiting for permission, Micah stepped closer and lifted Clyde’s shirt slightly to examine the area where he had elbowed him earlier.
Of course... There was nothing. No redness. No bruise. Not even a faint mark. He hadn’t used much force to begin with.
Micah brushed his fingers lightly across the skin as if double-checking. Clyde stiffened imdiately. Micah raised an eyebrow and looked up at him, completely unimpressed.
"Wow," Micah said dryly. "Blood is gushing out. You’re holding it really well."
Clyde had clearly been caught exaggerating. But he didn’t react to the accusation at all. Instead, his gaze had beco completely fixed on sothing else.
Micah’s chest. The bathrobe had slipped open slightly during Micah’s earlier attempt to remove it. The loose fabric parted just enough to reveal the skin beneath. And on that skin...The marks Clyde had left the previous night were still visible. Several faint love bites trailed along Micah’s collarbone and neck. Seeing them made sothing in Clyde’s chest relax.
Most of the irritation he had felt earlier about Micah going to see Leo faded away instantly. If Leo had gotten close enough, he would have definitely noticed the marks.
And if that happened... The impact would have been devastating. Clyde felt oddly pleased with himself. His mood improved significantly. With that pleasant thought in mind, he decided to tease Micah a little. He put on a pitiful expression and sighed dramatically.
"But I was wrongly hit," Clyde said.
Micah stared at him flatly. "Do you actually believe I would buy sothing like that?" He asked, pointing toward the buried costu.
Clyde smiled slowly. Then he leaned closer. "Well," he murmured, lowering his voice, "I thought you liked it so much you were trying to seduce . Like you were trying to push things to the next step."
He paused deliberately.
Micah froze.
Clyde leaned even closer, his breath brushing lightly against Micah’s ear. "Just yesterday," he continued softly, "a certain soone was making all kinds of..."
Micah slapped his hand over Clyde’s mouth instantly. "Shut up!" he snapped. His face had turned bright red again. "I still haven’t settled the score with you for yesterday," Micah hissed. "And you dare bring it up?!"
Clyde’s eyes curved with amusent. Instead of stopping, he gently kissed Micah’s palm.
Micah shuddered. He tried to pull his hand away imdiately, but Clyde caught his wrist before he could escape.
"Sorry. I was wrong," Clyde said, his voice muffled against Micah’s skin. "Let make it up to you." He pressed another soft kiss against Micah’s wrist. "What about wearing the pyjamas you bought?" he suggested. "Would that make you feel better?" His lips continued brushing lightly against Micah’s palm.
Micah’s entire body tensed. God. What was this man doing to him? A familiar heat began stirring inside his chest again, an uncomfortable mix of embarrassnt and sothing far more dangerous. Desire.
Micah gritted his teeth. No. Absolutely not. He refused to give Clyde more leverage than he already had. Micah shot him a cold, unimpressed look and forcefully yanked his hand free.
"If you’re going to wear them," Micah said stiffly, "wash them first."
Clyde straightened. "Alright," he said calmly. Then he added with complete seriousness. "I’ll listen to you. Tomorrow night I’ll try them." He nodded thoughtfully, a gentle smile on his face. "My wife cares about my skin, after all."
Micah’s head snapped around instantly. "Wife my ass!" he barked. "Who are you calling your wife?!"
Clyde only smiled.
Micah grumbled angrily under his breath and turned away to finally change his clothes. But as he moved around the room, pulling open drawers and grabbing a clean shirt, a strange feeling lingered in the back of his mind.
Sothing didn’t feel right. He paused. Why had Clyde agreed so easily? That man never compromised. Clyde always found ways to twist situations in his favour.
Yet this ti he had accepted the idea without resistance. Suspicious.
Micah narrowed his eyes slightly as he pulled on his clothes. But after a mont, he shrugged it off.
Whatever Clyde was planning, it didn’t matter.
Micah suddenly smirked. If Clyde actually wore those ridiculous animal pyjamas... Micah could simply take a picture. And then, He could threaten to post it online.
The image of everyone teasing Clyde instantly improved Micah’s mood.
"Hmph," he muttered to himself.
Serves him right.
