From Villain to Virtual Sweetheart: The Fake Heir's Grand Scheme(BL) Chapter 61: SugarPlum Panic and the Smiling King
After lunch ended, the group strolled toward the hotel parking lot in a loose, noisy cluster.
Micah, still disguised as a girl, kept his head ducked slightly, fearing an encounter with that lunatic Alex Ford. Of course, the chances were low, but tonight’s plan was so important that nothing was allowed to ruin it.
He hadn’t expected this level of luxury and coordination from Leo’s fan group.
The Majestic King core mbers were no joke. They didn’t even blink when it ca to booking a private lunch and hiring minivans for transportation to the actual venue. They hadn’t asked him to pay for a thing, to his dismay.
He had co with his black VIP bank card, wanting to gain their favour by showing off his money. But nope. They were apparently more loaded than he was!
Still, Micah couldn’t figure out why they had chosen this hotel for lunch if the fan eting was held near the production team’s camp.
Didn’t they say they screened people before giving the actual address to prevent black fans from infiltrating?!
What happened?? Why was it just him?! Where were the other newcors?! Several tis he had opened his mouth to ask, but he had swallowed his words. He rembered what Bob-hair (HisMajestyMuffin) had ntioned earlier. This was a special gathering for core mbers. He had magically skipped a level and jumped straight into the core mbers’ group!
They had probably screened newcors at another ti or place.
Micah did not dwell on it anymore. And why they had included him was evident from the big sister’s enthusiastic reaction.
As they lingered by the elevator, three female hotel staff rounded the corner of the hallway.
Their voices were hushed, but not quite enough for Micah to escape notice.
"Did you hear?" one of them whispered. "A higher-up rushed over earlier. Apparently one of the guests had thrown a fit in the lounge."
"No way. Who was it? Must have been soone big if they had to show up."
"I don’t know the na. Everything is being kept hush-hush, but from what I heard, it wasn’t so cranky old man like you would expect. Danny said he was so handso..."
There was a union sigh filled with disappointnt.
"Just our luck to miss it."
"Yeah, not to say there was a juicy drama. The handso man argued with a beautiful girl...."
Micah’s ears perked up. He felt it sounded familiar, but before he could think further, Big sister, aka, Jacklin, called him.
"SugerPlum, co here." her voice loud enough to echo in the hallway.
Micah noticed the conversation paused upon hearing his na. So curious glances shot in his direction. His spine stiffened.
Goosebumps covered his body. He stepped forward quickly and said, "Big sister! Please! Don’t call that in public! Just say Asena!"
Jacklin blinked innocently, tilting her head as if she didn’t understand the problem.
"Oh, but it suits you so well..."
"Please!" Micah insisted.
Jacklin gave a helpless nod and smiled.
But deep down she was disappointed. She had hoped to draw out a slip, maybe even get a real na. No such luck.
As they filed into the van, Jacklin made sure to sit right beside him. Micah glanced at her warily, already sensing a line of questioning coming. Sure enough...
"Asena, do you still have that necklace?"
Micah blinked. "Of course I have it. I would never throw sothing like that away."
"Can I take a look at it soti?" Jacklin said hesitantly.
Micah paused. It wasn’t that difficult to show her, but it required to disguise himself as a girl again. It was too much work.
"Maybe next fan eting?!" Micah tilted his head, giving her an apologetic smile.
Jacklin’s smile faltered, but she nodded. "That’s a promise then."
Jacklin was on her wit’s end. She felt like she was being gently but firmly blocked at every turn. No matter how casually or cleverly she tried to steer the conversation toward sothing real or et her outside the fan eting, Asena always danced away. Every approach to get close to Asena was getting shut down really quickly.
"Are you excited to see Leo?" Jacklin asked, her eyes narrowed, curious.
She wanted to know how invested she was in Leo.
Was Leo her type? Did she like tall, brooding, classic, dark-haired male lead material? Or could she maybe be like a certain dignified blond uncle with a face that could grace a statue?
Well...She was beginning to feel like a granny matchmaker chasing down a slippery niece who had zero interest in being married off.
Even though Jacklin knew Asena had passed her college entrance exam and was an adult, asking sothing more direct felt wrong and invasive. She imdiately rejected the idea.
She wasn’t that shaless and impudent yet.
Micah chuckled. "Why else would I be here? I am over the moon, been counting down the seconds to see my idol!"
Jacklin stared at Micah, then said, "Would you like to see him alone? I can ask his manager."
Micah was taken aback. What was she talking about? Was this offer real? Did she extend this to all fans? Or just him? Should he accept it? Or reject it? No why would a fan reject to see her idol up close?!
Those thoughts flashed in Micah’s mind before he rembered he was supposed to be thrilled.
"Big sister, are you teasing ?! Because I swear if you are not serious about it, I throw myself out of the van from the disappointnt!" Micah said dramatically, clutching at his chest.
He had to play the part of a crazy fan.
"Of course I am serious," Jacklin giggled.
She wanted to get close to her. By doing this favor, maybe she would be more open to her.
Micah was crying inside. He absolutely didn’t want a private eting with Leo. The very thought triggered a queasy wave of nausea. The last ti he saw Silas, another original male lead, at the hospital, he had thrown up like a volcano. If the sa happened again...That would be a total disaster.
Who would spread her stomach contents on her idol?! Ha?!
Still, Micah wiped his eyes with feigned emotion, "Thank you, I am really happy."
"No worries," Jacklin smiled, pleased by his response.
Eventually, they reached the venue. As the vans pulled up outside a modern building with floor-to-ceiling windows and Leo’s na splashed across posters, Micah’s anxiety reached up to the sky. With each passing minute, the mont to et Leo drew nearer.
Jacklin turned to him once they were inside. "Go sit like others. If he has ti, I will call you up after the event."
Micah nodded, slightly relieved. Maybe Leo would be too busy. Or just disinterested. That would be perfect.
Micah slipped into the main hall and picked a seat far to the edge of the room, not too close enough to draw attention, not too far enough to be excluded. A sweet spot for lurking.
The venue filled fast. Laughter and chatter echoed in the hall. At the front, Jacklin climbed onto the stage, exuding elegance and leadership in her sleek suit. She began welcoming everyone and thanking them for attending.
Then, the mont ca.
"Let’s welco our Majestic King... Leo Mckay!"
Screams erupted like thunder. Girls leapt to their feet. Hands shot into the air with glowsticks and banners. The room shook with raw excitent.
Micah squinted toward the stage and nearly fell out of his chair.
Leo appeared, dressed in a casual suit, perfectly composed and styled. He looked exactly like the aloof and cold prince Micah rembered from every tabloid, interview and PR release.
And sothing unexpected happened.
Leo smiled. Not a smirk. Not a mysterious kind.
Leo smiled like a gentle breeze.
That utterly god-like face, originally blinding, was transford into a lethal weapon when that smile filled the room.
Micah stumbled in his chair, nearly falling off it. What the heck?!
Had Leo been switched? Had a double?! Who was that man on the stage with a sweet smile?! Where was the cold stony face?!
Sister Candra, seated beside him, burst into laughter.
"Oh, God! This is why I like to co to this boring et-up. Every ti the newbie reacts to Leo’s smile, it is gold. I cracked up every ti!"
Micah turned his head chanically. "What?"
She wiped her eyes, chuckling.
"He smiles like this just with us fans. His agent will kill him if he does that with others."
"Why?"
"Didn’t you experience their effect?!"
"Yeah... but why I’ve never seen his smile online.., how could that be possible?!" Micah asked.
"This is one of Leo’s charms. The gap Moe! Every fan who sees this goes crazy. But most would not post it online. They want to cherish it for themselves. And if soone does, no one would believe it. They assu it was photoshopped."
Micah turned his head to the stage, staring as if he were bewitched. This was bad news. His heart was still pounding. What if Darcy saw Leo up close with this smile?!!!
