The ambassador’s daughter asked her father in disbelief: “Father, who is that man? Why are you being so nice to him?”
“He’s an incredible person. Back when I was in a war zone, I was once held hostage by a bunch of rebels. He and a small group of people led by him rescued us. He also rescued many other important individuals.”
The ambassador answered his daughter’s question.
“Really? Is he that incredible?”
“Yeah, he is.”
On the way back, Jian Yiheng said to Jian Yiling: “I rescued you. You should thank .”
Upon hearing this, Jian Yiling said: “Thank you.”
“Are you thanking with just words?”
It seed as though Jian Yiheng was not satisfied with his sister’s verbal ‘thank you’.
Jian Yiling looked at Jian Yiheng in confusion. She did not know what he wanted.
“I want to go to your apartnt for dinner. Let’s go to the supermarket right now,” Jian Yiheng said.
Dinner? Supermarket?
Jian Yiling finally realized what he ant after a few seconds.
Later at night, Jian Yiheng appeared in the living room of Jian Yiling and Zhai Yunsheng’s apartnt.
Jian Yiling was currently being busy in the kitchen. She was preparing a hot and fragrant al for him.
To thank Jian Yiheng, Jian Yiling prepared a table of dishes that Jian Yiheng liked to eat. Furthermore, the portions of each dish were more than usual.
Jian Yichen happily ca to eat dinner as well.
At the dinner table, Jian Yichen curiously asked Jian Yiheng: “Brother, when did you beco friends with that ambassador?”
“We’re not friends. However, I saved him in passing when I was in the war zone.”
Jian Yiheng casually replied to Jian Yichen’s question. It seed as though he did not put much thought into the reply.
Instead, the al in front of him was much more attractive.
Jian Yiling suddenly rembered a question to ask Jian Yichen: “Yufan wanted to ask you why you don’t like her.”
This was a ‘take’ that Qin Yufan gave Jian Yiling.
Qin Yufan wanted Jian Yiling to take an ‘indirect approach’ to make her better understand Jian Yichen’s inner thoughts.
However, Jian Yiling clearly did not know how to take an ‘indirect approach’.
“I already told her why. I don’t plan to get married.”
Upon hearing this, Jian Yiheng stopped eating. Then, he said: “Who allowed you not to get married?”
“Brother, you can work a bit harder. The task of carrying on our ancestral line will be left to you. Either way, I don’t plan to get married,” Jian Yichen said with a smile on his face.
As he always acted like this, Jian Yiheng decided to ignore these words. He assud that his brother was saying this without thinking much into the matter.

Qin Chuan was silent.
Although his face did not show any expression, Qin Hongzhi’s words still touched his heartstrings.
Qin Hongzhi continued to speak: “With my condition right now, I believe that I’m going to die soon. Therefore, I need to clarify a few things with you. First of all, as long as the matter involves shaking the foundation of the Qin Group, you must not do it. This is even the case if I’m going to die.
