Chapter 49: Can’t Rest Assured Unless I See Yiling
“Nope, these are for Yiling.”Jian Yujie panted as he replied to Grandma Jian. He continued to move the parcels with the driver and the servants.
“For Yiling? What did you buy her?” Grandma Jian asked. She wondered why Yujie had bought so many things.
“There are quite a few plushies. Yiling most likely had them at ho but didn’t bring them along when she moved here. I bought a few that she can leave in her room. There’s also a few bags and stationary.”
Yesterday, Jian Yujie went to the mall after school. He spent a lot of his money and emptied his wallet to buy these things.
Every year, the children of the Jian family got quite a lot of money from their elders in their red pockets. However, Jian Yujie’s savings were quite limited.
This was because his mother didn’t agree to let him beco a magician. As a result, he could only buy things that were related to magic in secret.
And after his mother found out that he had been spending money on these things, she had decided to not give him any living expenses. Anything that he needed, she would buy for him instead.
“So you only think about buying things for Yiling? What about for Grandma?” Grandma Jian teased.
“Grandma...” Jian Yujie replied in an embarrassed tone.
“It’s fine. Grandma is just teasing you. It’s good that you can spend more ti with Yiling. She hasn’t been sleeping well recently.”
Jian Yiling had been sleeping for quite a short ti recently. Grandma Jian assud that she wasn’t sleeping well.
“Yiling hasn’t been sleeping well? I can go buy her so aromatherapy that will assist her in sleeping. I’ve also heard that so scented tea can help and also...”
Jian Yujie began to ntally search for things that would help soone sleep. He was ready to make a list of things to buy.
“Okay, okay, look at you thinking so much. It makes it seem like I’m abusing Yiling or sothing! I’ve bought everything you have thought of already! Yiling is already using them!”
Grandma Jian couldn’t stand watching him anymore. Did he think that she wouldn’t care for her darling?
Jian Yujie scratched his head in embarrassnt. As long as Grandma Jian was here, no one would mistreat Yiling.
“Oh, by the way, where is Yiling? Has she gotten out of bed yet?” Jian Yujie asked. He had been at the door for a while and he hadn’t yet seen Jian Yiling.
“Nope. She already went to the Yu Residence for a while!”
“Huh? So early? Isn’t the party in the evening?”
“Yu Xi ca early. He said that he would take Yiling over first. I didn’t stop him.”
All the things Jian Yujie had heard from rumors popped into his head. He imdiately thought about Zhai Yunsheng’s evil face.
“Grandma, I’m going to go next door first! Please ask soone to move those things into Yiling’s room!”
After shouting that, Jian Yujie took off and ran.
Grandma Jian couldn’t help but laugh. As soon as this child heard that Yiling went to the Yu Residence, he took off and ran. He couldn’t wait a mont longer.
Jian Yujie hurried over to the Yu Residence. At this ti, none of the people invited by Yu Xi had arrived at the party.
“Young Master Yujie, why are you here?”
The housekeeper of the Yu Residence recognized Jian Yujie.
“Where is my sister?” Jian Yujie asked anxiously.
“Miss Yiling is resting right now. Young Master said to let Miss Yiling sleep for a while and not to disturb her.”
To improve the quality of Jian Yiling’s sleep, they had organized her to sleep in an attic that was the furthest away from the main lobby.
“Where is that? Let see.”
Jian Yujie was skeptical of the housekeeper’s words.
Who knew if what they were saying was true or not?
He would only believe them if he saw Yiling.
Although Yu Xi was a person of good character, Zhai Yunsheng did not appear to be. Master Sheng seed like the type that could do anything.
“Young Master Yujie. This...” The housekeeper is put in an awkward situation by Jian Yujie.
