Chapter 90: Chapter 90: A Surprise for Nan Qiao Chapter 90: Chapter 90: A Surprise for Nan Qiao Bai Yurou’s words had barely left her mouth before three pairs of eyes were fixed upon her in unison.

Old Mr.

Bai looked at Bai Yurou, his authoritative face betraying a aningful smile, his gaze firmly upon her, making Bai Yurou sowhat flustered.

Old Mr.

Bai’s voice was as deep and powerful as ever, “Yurou, coming here so late without being asked, do you think that’s appropriate?”

With these words, even Bai Zhenyang and Chen Xinwan felt that Bai Yurou’s actions were highly improper.

Chen Xinwan was the first to speak to her, “Yurou, your grandfather’s right.

Grandpa Li’s condition has stabilized and Qiaoqiao is there in case sothing unexpected happens.

It really isn’t good for you to rush over like this.”

Bai Zhenyang said, “You want to learn dical skills from Qiaoqiao.

There is plenty of ti for that; there’s no need to rush at this mont.”

All three of them spoke words of persuasion, leaving Bai Yurou feeling embarrassed and humiliated.

Bai Yurou, trying to contain her discomfort, defended herself, “Grandpa, Mom and Dad, I didn’t think it through.

I thought my sister might be too tired all by herself, and I could help share her burden.

Since you all think it’s inappropriate, then I won’t go.”

Bai Yurou’s docile appearance did not raise any suspicion from Chen Xinwan and Bai Zhenyang.

Old Mr.

Bai looked at Bai Yurou, his thoughts unreadable to everyone else.

Bai Yurou felt her scalp tingle under his gaze, “Grandpa, is Granny’s condition better?

I bla myself for what happened to Granny, for her being poisoned.

If only I hadn’t gone abroad, Granny wouldn’t have suffered so much.”

Old Mr.

Bai said, “Yurou, you are too trusting of others.

In the future, you should let your family help you be more discerning.

As far as I know, the nurse was introduced by you.

Not long after this incident, the nurse committed suicide.”

Bai Yurou was shocked, exclaiming in surprise, “What?

She committed suicide?”

Bai Yurou’s surprise and shock weren’t feigned; even she was unaware of the nurse’s death.

Old Mr.

Bai couldn’t read any deception in her expression and felt a bit puzzled.

Could it be that Bai Yurou had nothing to do with this incident?

Old Mr.

Bai stood up, “I’m old; I really shouldn’t stay up so late.

Zhenyang, I’m going to check on your mother.

You all should head to bed early as well.”

Bai Zhenyang said, “Dad, you should rest early, too.”

Chen Xinwan said, “Dad, I’ll go check on Mom tomorrow.”

After Old Mr.

Bai left, the atmosphere in the living room beca sowhat lighter.

Old Mr.

Bai and Granny Bai lived in the two-story villa next door.

The villa had a large yard, with pavilions, towers, planted vegetables, fish ponds, and pets—a comfortable and leisurely life.

Nan Qiao lived next door to Li Yehan.

The maid brought Nan Qiao a set of pajamas.

Nan Qiao: ?

“Why would there be won’s pajamas here?” There are no won of that age in the house, right?

The maid replied respectfully, “The old master said his grandson’s wife will soon be brought into the family, so he had people buy quite a few clothes for you.

They are all stored in the closet.

All kinds of ho wear fill up an entire walk-in wardrobe.”

Nan Qiao was stunned.

Do the Li Family spend money so extravagantly?

“Grandpa Li told you this?”

The maid, with a smile, said, “Uncle Fu instructed the staff, and we all heard about it.

Today when you ca, we all learned that you are Mr.

Li’s fiancée.”

Nan Qiao: “…”

She hadn’t even confird her relationship with Li Yehan yet, and Grandpa Li had prepared everything so thoroughly?

This was too complete!

Nan Qiao didn’t ask any further questions, and the maid left after delivering the items.

Nan Qiao looked at the spacious room with its exquisite decoration and walked out to the balcony.

Feeling the sumr night’s breeze, she sensed soone on her left.

Looking left, she caught sight of Li Yehan in his shorts, his upper body bare.

Li Yehan had just taken a shower, his hair still damp.

The harshness of the day had withdrawn, replaced by a hint of nightti softness.

“Li Yehan, why aren’t you wearing clothes?” Nan Qiao showed embarrassnt.

Li Yehan, on the other hand, walked over to this side.

Their balconies weren’t connected, and Li Yehan stood at the position closest to the railing, his peach blossom eyes brimming with a pampering smile, “Do I need to wear clothes in my own room?”

“Then go ahead and strip.” Nan Qiao turned and went back to her room.

Li Yehan couldn’t help but laugh silently and also entered his room.

Nan Qiao was preparing to bathe in her pajamas when soone knocked on the door.

Upon opening the door, Nan Qiao saw Li Yehan, also in pajamas, holding sothing in his hand.

His clear and sunny face showed a rare kind of gentleness, which he only displayed in front of Nan Qiao.

Breathing in the pleasant scent of his body wash, Nan Qiao asked, “Li Yehan, what’s up?”

“I do have sothing, the surprise I ntioned at dinner.”

Nan Qiao let him in, and Li Yehan unfolded the scroll, which contained content Nan Qiao was all too familiar with.

Wasn’t this the self-portrait she had just finished a few days ago??

It was given by Li Yehan, not the Bai Family!

Nan Qiao was truly taken aback, almost blurting out, “How did this painting end up with you?”

Her surprise made Li Yehan realize there was another layer of aning here.

“Don’t like it?”

Li Yehan looked at her expectantly, even a bit worried she wouldn’t like the painting.

Nan Qiao lifted her head to et his gaze and smiled faintly, “I love it.”

Li Yehan breathed out in relief, puzzled by his own worry that the gift wouldn’t be liked.

In the past, when had he ever been this emotionally unstable?

Now, as he looked at Nan Qiao, Li Yehan realized sothing; he truly liked this girl very much.

“It’s good you like it.” Li Yehan looked at Nan Qiao in the painting, smiling.

He was effusive with his praises for the portrait, “I had Master Shan Shui paint this, and he truly captured the spirit.

It’s just like him.”

When the painting was placed before Li Yehan, he was quite stunned.

It was as if Master Shan Shui had actually t Nan Qiao; the spirit was natural, with every frown and smile as if Nan Qiao had stepped into the painting.

Nan Qiao stood at the table, looking at her self-portrait as Li Yehan’s voice praised Master Shan Shui.

Being praised to her face like this, Nan Qiao felt a touch embarrassed.

Nan Qiao feigned composure, “It’s indeed quite good.”

Praising herself for a mont.

The two were so close that Nan Qiao could feel the heat radiating from Li Yehan, sweeping toward her.

His magnetic voice resounded in Nan Qiao’s ear, “As long as you like it.”

He had chosen the right gift.

Li Yehan, in a good mood, quietly reminded her, “I won’t disturb you any longer, get so rest soon.”

Nan Qiao walked Li Yehan to the door when he suddenly turned around.

Under the warm yellow light, Li Yehan’s clear face held a captivating charm.

He just stood there, gazing at Nan Qiao, as if he would kiss her in the next mont.

Nan Qiao jumped in fright, quickly closing the door.

Back in her room, Nan Qiao hurriedly took a shower, calming the restlessness in her heart.

Only when she picked up her phone did she find several missed calls and ssages.
