The public drawer stayed open after Jade's boundary statent.
Omina walked past it without looking down.
That bothered the drawer more than any insult would have. Cards slid after her across the floor, carrying rescue stills, caption guesses, face matches, and thousands of small approvals from people who had seen one clip and decided it was enough.
Omina stopped at the red door. The cards gathered near her boots like water finding a drain.
"File objection," she said.
Erebos answered from the lintel, using the damaged version of her na because the room never missed a bruise it could count.
OBJECTING PARTY: OMINA ALKANDROS.
AUTHORITY QUALITY DAMAGED.
RANK WEIGHT REDUCED.
Omina accepted the entry without flinching. The room paused, and Zunoder's reflection lifted out of the public drawer, flattening across the polished floor.
"You accept reduced standing?" he asked.
"Yes. I also accept that it makes the objection weak."
Heissman turned enough to watch her with real interest now. JJ, crouched by her ledger, looked less interested and more ready to throw sothing if Omina had decided to bleed for style.
Omina placed one hand on the red door. "A weak objection can still be valid."
The filing room printed three cards and held them in the air in front of her.
RANK.
RECORD.
RESULT.
Omina read them once. "None of those are validity."
The cards bent inward. JJ's ledger brightened beside the body table, its four columns still ugly and useful.
FREE.
PAID.
COERCED.
VOLUNTEERED.
Omina pointed to VOLUNTEERED. "I paid rank, reputation, and command weight. I am not asking the room to forget that. I am asking it to record that a damaged authority can object more honestly than an unchallenged thief."
A small drawer opened near her knees.
Inside lay an old command marker split down the middle. The seal on it had once made people move when she spoke because refusal had a price. It had been a clean kind of power, which was why the room offered it back with such care.
OMINA ALKANDROS.
FORR WEIGHT AVAILABLE.
CURRENT WEIGHT REDUCED.
The broken marker pulled at her hand. Ty saw her wrist turn before she stopped it.
He stepped once.
"Do not retrieve what I spent," Omina said, without turning.
"It is yours."
"It was."
The marker rembered her fingers. That was the ugly part. Her hand knew the angle. Her arm knew how command weight sat in the shoulder. The room knew it too, and waited to see whether she would take back enough old obedience to make the objection easier.
Omina set her hand flat against her thigh and held it there by muscle, skin, and a decision no seal could make for her.
The marker cracked again. She left it in the drawer.
VOLUNTARY LOSS ACKNOWLEDGED.
Zunoder watched the line with more attention than he had given her opening argunt. "You are using damage as currency."
"I am refusing to hide the receipt."
The old legal folder snapped against its drawer. For the first ti since the public clip began, Zunoder's reflection lost a fraction of its calm.
Erebos wrote across the red door.
DAMAGED AUTHORITY CLAIM:
SELF-INTEREST POSSIBLE.
"Yes," Omina said.
JJ leaned toward Heissman. "Is she supposed to keep agreeing with the insults?"
"If they are accurate, yes."
Omina continued before the room could enjoy the exchange. "My self-interest is clear. I oppose your use of record hierarchy because record hierarchy is where this attack gains force. That does not invalidate the objection. It tells everyone where I am standing."
The room wrote slower this ti.
ANGLE DECLARED.
CONCEALNT REDUCED.
Ty watched the words settle and understood what she had done. Omina had not made weakness pretty. She had pinned it to the floor so Zunoder could not drag it out later and pretend discovery was proof of fraud.
"State objection," Erebos said.
Omina lifted two fingers from the red door. "Public recognition may be admitted only as public recognition, not ownership."
The drawer spat comnts at her ankles. She ignored them.
"A body-primary match may present action and continuity, but cannot borrow old legal custody during an active hostile claim. Witness protection must count as evidence when the proceeding's demand would otherwise consu witnesses. Bone Half's response to a dirty category must be reviewed under provisional identity, not property acceptance."
Jade's boundary statent appeared in the air behind her, small beside the public stack but steady enough to stay.
Heissman stood.
Omina looked at him. "Now you may be useful."
"I was waiting for permission because I treasure rare experiences."
"Speak."
Heissman raised his right hand, and the filing room handed him paper because it wanted him to incriminate himself in a more formal font. He took it anyway.
"Older systems privilege older records because older records are easier to audit," he said. "Legal na, body match, dical file, public recognition. Those categories remain useful until soone weaponizes the gap between what a record can store and what a person survived."
JJ pointed at him with two fingers. "Shorter."
"A provisional identity can hold when old records are contested and imdiate handling would cause harm."
The room opened a header above the red door.
PROVISIONAL IDENTITY STANDARD.
Heissman touched the paper. "It is usually used for witness protection, disputed estates, custody conflicts, ergency placent. Situations where using the old label too early would damage the person the system claims to sort."
Ty looked at the red door. The ward callback had left his shoulder sore, and the words ergency placent made the ache answer.
"A na used during harm can beco protected if taking it away exposes the person to greater harm before review," Heissman said.
JJ copied the idea into the ledger, then cut the sentence in half before the room could turn it into a textbook.
PROVISIONAL IDENTITY:
KEEP THE HANDLE UNTIL REMOVING IT STOPS HURTING PEOPLE.
The filing room tried to reject handle.
Ty looked at the line. "Keep it."
The word stayed.
Heissman considered the shortened version with visible pain. "Annoyingly serviceable."
"Put that on my grave," JJ said.
"You would haunt the grammar."
"Only if you wrote it."
Zunoder stepped out of the drawer reflection and stood flat under the public cards. "Protected until review. Temporary. Incomplete."
"Protected," Omina said.
"Not owned."
"Also protected."
The room weighed the words longer than anyone liked.
PROVISIONAL IDENTITY CLAIM FILED.
BONE HALF STATUS DISPUTED.
PROTECTION REQUEST ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW.
JJ slapped both palms on her ledger hard enough to make the nearest cards jump. Relief tried to spread and failed before it beca comfortable.
Erebos added the requirents.
REVIEW REQUIRES:
ORIGIN.
CONTINUITY.
PURPOSE.
COST.
The public drawer pushed its own demand against the table.
PUBLIC RECOGNITION RESPONSE REQUIRED.
The red door unlocked another notch. Above it, a clock ford with no numbers yet, only a rim and a warning.
REVIEW DOCKET OPENING.
DEADLINE: BEFORE BODY-PRIMARY CLAIM REACHES PUBLIC MAJORITY.
Omina did not take her hand off the door. She had filed without rank, and the room had let the objection live. The next attack would have to be more honest.
