The two princes anxiously rushed to the palace gates, where they found their elderly father already unconscious.
Beside King Charles stood Sunak, who had fully recovered.
Seeing their father's condition, the pair breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he had rely lost consciousness and had not been completely killed by the curse.
Perhaps this was actually a good thing for their old father?
After all, they had no idea if he could withstand that bizarre "ntal interrogation." If he t the sa fate as those Nobles, things would beco truly difficult to manage.
Now, at the very least, they could preserve a small shred of dignity for the Royal Family and smooth the matter over.
A scandal like the King dying from a Celtic curse was simply too horrifying to contemplate.
"Your Highnesses, King Charles has suffered a relapse. The royal physicians have confird that extre exhaustion caused his cancer cells to spread, and he has slipped into a coma!" Sunak reported. "Prince William, you must take charge of state affairs from here on out!"
"State affairs? Pri Minister, you must be joking," William replied bluntly. "What state affairs are even left? All of London is on the verge of becoming a graveyard!"
"In just three days, eighty percent of the Nobles from the Victorian era have died, over ninety-five percent of the rchants have perished, and more than seventy percent of the Politicians are gone! This city and this country are teetering on the brink of collapse, and you want to take charge?"
The city of London was indeed facing exactly this reality.
Over the course of three days, the majority of the grassroots citizens remained unhard, but the various High-level Officials had completely fallen apart!
With the massive number of Deceased People, the curse that nearly everyone knew about was blatantly staging an absurd moral farce within the city!
The descendants of these Nobles frantically devised all sorts of thods to evade this catastrophe.
So turned their faith to the Catholic Church, anticipating the descent of an Angel, while others sailed eastward, hoping the gods of the Nordic realms could offer them salvation.
So even fled into the hos of the Irish People, choosing to worship the so-called Dana Divine Family just to escape the curse.
Unfortunately, all their efforts were in vain. The curse arrived right on schedule, turning the vast majority of the city's "esteed High-level Officials" into corpses.
Whether they were alone or in groups, the end result was the sa: they all died.
William naturally assud that resolving this situation would be incredibly difficult. The Deceased People were all High-level Officials of the nation. Without them, how was he supposed to govern the country?
"Uh... actually, Your Highness, based on my experience over the past two days, it isn't difficult at all!" Sunak provided a completely unexpected answer. "The remaining personnel are still maintaining the operation of the country, and things are running even smoother than before!"
This response left the two princes in a montary daze. "Are you saying that even after these people died, the country can still function, and do so with greater efficiency?"
"Yes. Because there is no one left to oppose our orders, many initiatives can now be pushed through, and certain reforms can finally proceed. Furthermore, with fewer corrupt individuals siphoning funds, the salaries that previously couldn't be paid are now being distributed again!"
Sunak's words actually coaxed a laugh out of William. "So, you're telling this curse was actually a blessing in disguise?"
"It just might be a good thing!" Harry chid in. "Haven't you always been waiting for an opportunity like this? A chance to return the Royal Family to the ruling class and turn parliant into a relic of the past! This is the perfect opportunity!"
Prince William's face turned green. "A good opportunity? A perfect opportunity to Destroy a Nation and bring an end to Great Britain? Do you honestly think the curse is over, or is this just the beginning? A petty curse like this won't be enough to scare off Cuchulainn!"
At these words, Harry fell silent. Yes, could it really be over just like that? If this was all there was to it, why would Cuchulainn have left?
That statent also silenced Sunak, wiping away his lingering traces of joy.
As a Pri Minister of Indian Descent, he initially believed this was his mont of glory. After all, the restrictive parliant had been reduced to an empty hall with its mbers Few and Far Between. This should have been the ti for him to fully showcase his capabilities.
However, hearing William's logic, he had to agree. If this curse was the full extent of the threat, how could Cuchulainn simply walk away so easily? There had to be another looming crisis that they had completely overlooked!
"I've got it!" Prince Harry suddenly exclaid, realizing exactly what they had all forgotten. "The River Thas, it's the River Thas! We only ever investigated the Water itself, but we never checked what lies beneath it!"
Sunak took a deep breath and stared at Harry. Looking at this red-haired man, he couldn't help but harbor so vague, alternative thoughts. "Your Highness, what exactly did you sense?"
"Sense?" Harry looked at him in bewildernt. "I didn't sense anything. I just feel like... it should be the River Thas, right?"
Seeing his purely speculative deanor, William and Sunak exchanged a glance, a contemplative gleam flashing in their eyes. "Then let's go inspect the bottom of the River Thas!"
The two turned and left imdiately, as if having made a firm decision, leaving Prince Harry behind to look after his elderly father.
"Your Highness, did you see it?" Sunak asked excitedly the mont they stepped out of Buckingham Palace.
William nodded, his mind racing with countless thoughts. "I saw it, I saw it. That green radiance emanating from Harry! What do you suppose it was?"
"What else could it be? According to Celtic Mythology, the only possibility is an awakening of a druid!" Sunak declared with unbridled excitent. "Your Highness, does this an we've been chosen? Does it an destruction won't happen again?"
"Who knows? Even Harry himself has no idea!" William shrugged, appearing sowhat lost.
His feelings toward his younger brother were undeniably complicated. Because they were blood brothers, he had to fulfill his responsibilities as the eldest sibling. Yet, due to the other's rebellious and arrogant nature, the two had scarcely ever shared a harmonious mont, leaving only a history of conflict and confrontation.
Now, seeing that green radiance emitting from his brother, coupled with the sudden burst of inspiration his sibling had experienced during such a cataclysmic ti, naturally left him with a tangled ss of emotions.
He was deeply concerned. If his brother truly possessed the Transcendent Power of the Celtic People, would he bypass William to beco the new king of Britannia?
Yet, at the sa ti, he felt a surge of pride. No matter what, that was still his younger brother! If this truly was a Celtic curse ant to wipe out their entire family, wouldn't his brother beco the very last hope of the House of Windsor?
Looking at it from that perspective, this was indeed a good thing.
With a sharp intake of breath, William once again shouldered his responsibilities as the "acting King," and rushed to the frontlines of the nation alongside Sunak.
Beside the River Thas, the streets that should have been bustling with activity were now unusually deserted. Over the course of three days, more than four million people had evacuated the city. Everyone with the ans to leave had fled, leaving behind only the grassroots workers and the impoverished who had nowhere else to go.
Even those who hadn't left stayed far away from this river, which seed to exude an ominous aura. It wasn't until their executive orders were handed down that the Police returned to lock down the area, filling the empty streets once more.
"The efficiency really has improved quite a bit!" Looking at the Police who were already in position, William was sowhat surprised. "The upper managent is gone, and the middle dispatch tier is completely empty, yet operations are running faster than ever... Those damned bureaucrats!"
One didn't even need to think about it to realize just how many individuals guilty of Being a Figurehead existed within such a convoluted organization, nor how much trouble those individuals had caused them.
Sunak nodded. "It was only when I directly commanded the Police that I realized the efficiency of our Governnt could actually be this fast!"
Just as the two were marveling at the speed of this newly streamlined Governnt apparatus, the underwater Cara brought them a brand new piece of information.
"Your Highness, Pri Minister, there really is sothing underwater!" A police officer handed over a monitor, prompting both n to lower their heads and look at the Tablet in front of them. On the screen, they saw a live feed of the underwater scene.
The River Thas, which they passed by every single day, had beco utterly unrecognizable. Within the nearly pitch-black space beneath the water, streaks of peculiar radiance suddenly lit up.
These specks of radiance were incredibly faint, resembling tiny, inconspicuous glimrs of light. But this was underwater! No matter how subtle the light was, in an environnt like this, it beca increasingly eerie and inexplicable!
"What is this?" the two asked in confusion. They received no answer, but when William found the button to switch to night-vision mode, they finally saw clearly what those faint glimrs were!
It wasn't just random radiance. It was pairs of "human" eyes, and the light was flashing out from those very pupils!
William suddenly realized the horrific truth. Wait, how could there be humans underwater? Those weren't humans at all—they were the Undead!
Those densely packed specks of light were distinctly pairs of eyes, gleaming with a radiance of pure hatred!
Both n began to tremble uncontrollably. After the curse, was this ant to be the true invasion?
The Undead who had perished beneath the water had now returned!
