Next day, Lin Fan woke up to a familiar sll.
Buns were stead and ready on the table waiting for him.
"Quite a night, eh." Ho Jie chuckled as he was pouring a cup of piping hot tea.
"Morning. Yeah, haven't been able to relax like last night for quite so ti." Lin Fan got up and stretched his hands, giving out a yawn.
Out of the window, he saw the bright sunny weather.
White fluffy clouds moving in the clear blue sky.
A great day to go back to An Xiang Village for a visit.
"Co, wash up and have breakfast," Ho Jie said and Lin Fan gave him a smile.
He washed up and joined Ho Jie at the table.
Munching on the buns, Lin Fan thought about the library and asked, "Do you have any idea about the secret realm for the library?"
"I have no idea. I can try to ask around but don't keep your hopes high," Ho Jie said.
Lin Fan nodded and drank from his teacup.
It was then that Ho Ming arrived.
"Ready to go?" Ho Ming asked.
"Sure, let's go." Lin Fan took a bun with him and bid farewell to Ho Jie.
It took a day for them to arrive back at An Xiang Village.
When they reached the entrance of the village, it looked much more different than they rembered it to be.
The roads were now paved with bricks and not the dirt roads from yesteryears.
Houses that were still made of only wood were rare.
Most had been turned into houses that had tile roofs, white brick walls and wooden pillars.
An Xiang Village had co to resemble more like a bustling town now.
"Look, that's Ho Ming and Lin Fan."
"Are you sure? They should be busy in Qing Feng Sect now that there's a new Emperor."
"Shh... Don't get everyone into trouble."
Villagers were surprised to see Lin Fan and Ho Ming.
They went up to them with huge smiles and greeted Lin Fan and Ho Ming.
"Lin Fan, welco back! I've got a pleasant surprise for you."
Ho Fu ca and greeted Lin Fan.
Looking over at Ho Ming, Ho Fu gave him a nod.
Ho Ming gave out a sigh when he saw it.
Lucky there's no lecture to be had, Ho Ming thought.
Lin Fan nodded at Ho Fu, and asked, "What surprise?"
"Don't worry, it's not much. We did what we could," Ho Fu said and pointed in the distance.
Lin Fan looked in the direction and saw a huge mansion amongst the other houses.
It had three floors with a wall protecting the privacy of the occupants within.
"That's my house?" Lin Fan, with one brow arched, asked.
"Yes, we thought it was still too small, so we bought over the surrounding land and expanded it."
Ho Fu said with a huge smile.
As he rembered, his wooden hut had been transford into a small mansion previously.
Now it looked like any mansion in Hong Feng City, comparable to Sima Family's mansion.
"Thank you so much, you shouldn't have," Lin Fan said.
"Co, let's go and see if you like it."
Two house guards tried to stop Lin Fan, but they quickly bowed to him when they saw Ho Fu being polite and friendly with Lin Fan.
They opened the huge lavish wooden door and bowed at Lin Fan.
Ho Fu was busy introducing the mansion to Lin Fan and kept asking if he liked it, and if he didn't, Ho Fu would get soone to get it changed.
"Thanks," Lin Fan thanked the house guards and looked into the mansion behind the doors.
The garden was now huge and landscaped well.
A pavilion next to a small stream with water lilies was created.
Servant girls blushed and they scurried around when they saw Lin Fan.
His handso looks and the aura he gave out made him seem like a prince that ca out of their dreams.
"Lin Fan!" Uncle Liu ca out of the mansion and Lin Fan was glad to see him again.
"I've got Liu to be the housekeeper, helping to keep an eye on the house guards and servants. It's getting harder to survive as a hunter nowadays. Tis are different," Ho Fu said.
"That's great," Lin Fan said, but he took note of how Ho Fu said it was different now.
"Co, let's settle in and have lunch," Uncle Liu said and he led Lin Fan to the dining area.
Inside the dining area was a huge round table, and on it were delicacies of all kinds.
A roasted suckling pig was prominently placed in the middle of the table.
Surrounding it was chicken, fish, beef and lamb.
Sothing that families might not even have within a year.
When they sat down and had the al, everyone munched on the food.
Servant girls argued among themselves on who should have the honor to serve Lin Fan.
Uncle Liu's wife, i Fong, had to co and hurry them.
Shaking her head, she thought to herself, maybe it's ti to get a wife for Lin Fan to let these servant girls face reality.
"Where's Liu Han?" Lin Fan asked as he picked up a piece of suckling pig with his chopsticks.
"That boy is in the school now. We built one in your na to educate our next generation," Uncle Liu said and he drank a cup of wine.
"Don't drink too much and get drunk. I'm not going to take care of you," i Fong tried to stop Uncle Liu.
Lin Fan gave a smile at the couple.
It was how he rembered it to be.
"Village head, how are things different this ti?" Lin Fan turned over to Ho Fu and asked.
Ho Fu gave a frown and then a huge sigh.
"Things were going well until the sudden change of the Emperor. Now so of our partners are either dead or gone missing."
"Dead or gone missing?" Lin Fan stopped his chopsticks in midair and asked.
"So Lord Marquises didn't recognize the new Emperor and are trying to rebel against the new Emperor," Ho Fu put down his chopsticks and said.
"Anything I can do to help?" Lin Fan asked.
