Her response was still full of character.

"Cooperation." Xu Zhifei’s words were few, and her tone was almost without inflection.

Bai Yanliang looked at her in surprise and asked, "Cooperation?"

"The next mission, you and ."

Xu Zhifei’s words made Bai Yanliang’s pupils shrink.

What was she talking about?

The next mission?

How could she know about the next mission in advance?

The questions in Bai Yanliang’s eyes remained unanswered; Xu Zhifei didn’t seem to plan on telling him the reason.

The river wind blew through her hair constantly, and the woman in front of him was very beautiful.

Her skin was as white as snow, but the person... as cold as ice.

"Miss Xu, if you don’t explain the reason, it’s hard for to trust your sincerity." Bai Yanliang walked over to her, holding a small black cat, and looked at the river, "The people in Fog Gathering aren’t trustworthy, and neither are you."

Xu Zhifei listened to his voice, her expression unchanged, and said, "I told you, and you still won’t believe it."

Bai Yanliang turned his head and smiled, "Try it, at least if you don’t say, I definitely won’t agree to cooperate with you."

Xu Zhifei’s cold gaze fell on Bai Yanliang’s face, and suddenly she said, "Your smile is disgusting."

Bai Yanliang’s face stiffened, and for the first ti, his smile froze on his face.

She was the first person to say that to him, in fact... he had always been quite popular with girls.

The smile on Bai Yanliang’s face quickly vanished, and he looked calmly at Xu Zhifei without speaking.

It’s now a little past three in the afternoon, and there were quite a few people by the river.

But everyone passing by them felt an inexplicable chill.

It was as if an invisible, transparent barrier had ford around the two of them, even the small black cat Allen Allan Poe in Bai Yanliang’s arms felt uncomfortable and jumped to the flower bed, tilting its head to look at the two.

So people say that if a man and a woman gaze into each other’s eyes for more than seven seconds, there will definitely be a story.

But Bai Yanliang and Xu Zhifei had inexplicably been staring at each other for more than ten seconds without looking away.

Finally, as it approached twenty seconds, Xu Zhifei turned her head and said lightly:

"The expressions on your face are all ticulously mimicked."

Bai Yanliang quietly looked at her, and although outwardly composed, his heart was not.

Facing Xu Zhifei, Bai Yanliang felt as if he was looking into a mirror.

This woman was too much like him, of course, not in appearance.

"If you’re still unwilling to say, I think there’s no need to waste ti."

Bai Yanliang looked toward the river and said.

Xu Zhifei was silent for a mont, her gaze also turning to the river.

"I had a dream."

"A dream?" Bai Yanliang turned his head, seeing her delicate profile.

"In Fog Gathering, everyone was dead, only you survived." Xu Zhifei turned her head, facing Bai Yanliang once more.

"What?" Bai Yanliang suddenly felt very foolish, was this woman really just here because of such a strange dream?

"I said it before, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it." Xu Zhifei seed to have anticipated Bai Yanliang’s reaction and said calmly.

"It was just a dream after all." Bai Yanliang looked at her, still unable to believe.

"The day before you entered Fog Gathering, I dread of you." Xu Zhifei suddenly said.

Bai Yanliang’s whole body shook, he turned to stare at Xu Zhifei, not missing any details, but he couldn’t detect a single trace of falsehood in her.

"Before Fog Gathering, I had never seen you, yet that night I dread of you, and the next day, you appeared."

Xu Zhifei’s voice was plain, but Bai Yanliang found himself a bit creeped out.

Because... if everything Xu Zhifei said was true, then... his discharge, receiving Yanren’s relics, discovering the key, entering Fog Gathering... everything had long been predestined.

"Can you describe the scene the first ti you dread about in detail?" Bai Yanliang hadn’t noticed that while asking, his fists had unconsciously clenched.

He was nervous.

Xu Zhifei glanced up at Bai Yanliang with a hint of surprise in her icy eyes, seemingly not expecting him to actually believe her words.

She thought carefully and said, "You were in a dark place, holding a key, opening a door, and it was very bright on the other side of the door."

The key!

Bai Yanliang’s heart tightened; he had never ntioned this to anyone, yet... Xu Zhifei had dreamt of it?

It’s real, everything she said is real!

Precognitive dreams?

Then... if that’s the case, everyone in Fog Gathering really will die!

"Wait, do you often have such precognitive dreams?" Bai Yanliang asked.

Xu Zhifei shook her head, "I don’t usually dream, but when it happens, it will manifest in reality."

Bai Yanliang looked at her serenity, suddenly feeling the air around him grow colder.

After a long silence, Bai Yanliang looked at her and nodded, "I agree, we’ll cooperate."

Xu Zhifei gave him a look and nodded.

She indeed wasn’t lying, but she was withholding sothing.

"By the way, before we talk about cooperation specifically, I have two things I want to ask you." Bai Yanliang suddenly asked.

Xu Zhifei looked at him and nodded, "Go ahead."

"How did you get my phone number?" This question had been bothering Bai Yanliang for a long ti, so when he asked, he seed a bit impatient.

A peculiar look flashed in Xu Zhifei’s beautiful eyes, she opened her hand and said, "Give your phone."

With so confusion, Bai Yanliang handed his phone to her.

Xu Zhifei tapped the screen a few tis and then pointed to it, saying, "You have automatic linking enabled."

Bai Yanliang took back the phone with a face full of bewildernt; what was automatic linking?

"..."

Xu Zhifei looked at him, waiting for him to ask the second question.

After mulling it over for a while, Bai Yanliang finally noticed her gaze and asked:

"Is Xu Zhi’an your brother?"

For the first ti, Xu Zhifei raised her eyebrows and glared at Bai Yanliang:

"No."

...

The two talked by the river for a long ti and made so agreents.

By the ti Bai Yanliang returned ho with the little black cat, it was completely dark.

When he returned to the courtyard, He Yige had already moved in.

When Bai Yanliang saw him, he was holding a dart, about to throw it at a target hanging on the locust tree.

"Thud—"

Right in the bullseye.

"Mr. Bai is back."

He Yige pulled out the dart and greeted Bai Yanliang.

Bai Yanliang placed the little black cat on the stone table, intending to nod with a smile, but a sentence flashed through his mind: "Your smile is disgusting."

The yet-to-form smile vanished just like that, Bai Yanliang nodded and entered the house.

He Yige’s gaze lingered on Bai Yanliang’s back until he closed the door.

He Yige suddenly raised his head, looking through the gaps in the leaves of the locust tree.

There... seed to be a pair of eerie eyes, flashing for a mont.

However, He Yige was neither frightened nor did he scream; he simply packed up the dart and target and left calmly.
