Guan Tong watched Xu Xiaotian leave and returned to his room, checking his terminal panel - his Mind Power hadn't recovered enough yet.
He was just about to turn on the TV when his phone rang. The caller ID showed it was the Police Departnt calling.
"Mr. Guan, if you're free this afternoon, please co to the station. We have so key information that needs your confirmation."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Guan Tong wondered what "key information needs confirmation" ant. Had they discovered so clues in the case?
He waited until 1 PM and went to the Police Departnt.
To his surprise, besides the two Peace Officers who had visited his ho yesterday, there was actually another man wearing black-frad glasses - Li ng, the director of the Police Departnt.
Director Li ng and the two other Peace Officers took Guan Tong to an office and showed him a photo on a large screen in the room.
Guan Tong was slightly startled when he saw the photo because it clearly showed two corpses.
"Take a closer look. Are these two people the ones who knocked on your door last night?"
Guan Tong looked for a mont and asked, "Do you have clearer facial photos?"
"Yes." Li ng had a Peace Officer switch the photos, and close-ups of both corpses' faces were displayed.
Although both n had injuries on their faces with bruised and swollen features, since so little ti had passed, Guan Tong could still recognize them.
"That's correct." He confird, "These two are the people who pretended to be Peace Officers and ca to my ho last night."
Li ng nodded: "Just as I thought."
Guan Tong's gaze remained fixed on the photo on the large screen: "May I ask, what happened to these two..."
"Most likely eliminated." Li ng said, "But whoever eliminated them certainly didn't expect we'd find the buried bodies so quickly."
"Who exactly are they? And what was their purpose?"
Li ng gestured with his eyes to one of the Peace Officers, who explained: "Our preliminary assessnt is that this is a gang criminal organization. As for their purpose, based on several similar cases previously, they were most likely searching for and attempting to kidnap individuals with high Mind Power."
Guan Tong frowned: "Why would they want to kidnap people with high Mind Power? Are they trafficking humans?"
"That's what we want to know too." Director Li ng said gravely, "Currently, based on these two corpses, the departnt has obtained so leads and will imdiately launch follow-up operations."
