Chapter 865: Chapter 865 Second Young Master_1
“Is he pursuing you?” asked Nathaniel as soon as Purple Sumrs entered the room.
Purple was montarily taken aback, intending to say that she and Gavin Graves were just friends, but then thought, why should she explain herself to Nathaniel?
Nathaniel didn’t ask the question to get an answer; his aim was simply to humiliate her.
Ignoring him, Purple walked straight ahead, and sure enough, Nathaniel followed with a sneer, “If you want to move to the Graves Family, you can just say so. No one will stop you, considering how adept you are at being fickle.”
Purple stopped in her tracks, turned back, and glanced at him expressionlessly, “No matter how fickle I am, I would never choose you!”
Nathaniel’s face turned ashen, and he huffed angrily before storming off.
He always had a short temper in front of Purple, and today he was particularly irritable. Purple stood there for a mont, then asked the servant who had just spoken with Nathaniel, “Is sothing happening at ho today?”
The servant answered cautiously, “The second young master is said to be coming back, and the third young master told us to clean out a room, but said nothing else…”
The second young master?
…Had Clyde Sumrs been released from prison?
After a mont of contemplation, Purple guessed that Nathaniel’s earlier outburst might have been because of Clyde’s return, which reminded Nathaniel of his own origins.
Purple didn’t know Clyde, had never even seen this person, and his return had nothing to do with her. She had no interest in it.
Back at the small western-style building, Purple told Atra Blanc, “I’m planning to go to school next week. It’s already April, and in another two months it will be the end of the term. Once I get my graduation certificate, I can go to the institute to study… When that ti cos, I don’t want to live in the Presidential Palace. Mom, let’s buy an apartnt in Kingsley. We can live there together. It’s always good to have more property.”
Atra seed to be lost in thought and did not respond.
Purple kept talking to herself, “I’m really worried about Cleo and Tiny. We’ll be going to Kingsley, and it’s such a long journey. I don’t even know how we’ll bring them along… Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Tiny in several days. Mom, have you seen Tiny recently? Has it co back?”
After talking at length without a response, Purple turned to look at Atra and saw her staring blankly at the dining table.
“Mom?” Purple called out, puzzled.
Atra suddenly snapped out of her trance, “Huh?… What is it?”
Purple found Atra’s behavior very strange, “Mom, I was just saying I’m planning to go to school next week…”
“Oh, that’s great,” replied Atra with a faint smile, “Studying is the most important thing; make sure you don’t fall behind on your schoolwork.”
Atra paused for a mont, then hesitantly said, “Purple… There’s been a bit of trouble at your mother’s ho, um… My sister is very ill, and I want to go back to the Blanc Family to take care of her. I might not be able to return for so ti. Will you be okay on your own?”
“It’s okay,” Purple said. “I can have als at the school cafeteria. Mom, how long will you be gone?”
Upon hearing this, Atra’s face was filled with uncertainty, “Maybe… a month?”
She also seed unsure.
Seeing Atra’s anxious expression, Purple guessed she wanted to return only after the patient had recovered, but as to when that would be, no one could say for sure.
“Do you need to co with you to visit her?” Purple asked tentatively.
Atra seed startled and quickly waved her hands, “No need, no need! Your studies are important, don’t worry about this kind of thing.”
Purple thought Atra might be afraid of being embarrassed, so she didn’t insist.
When evening ca, Atra was packing her luggage at ho. Seeing her stuffing several sumr outfits into the suitcase, Purple couldn’t help saying, “Mom, you aren’t leaving for good, so why bring so much stuff? Just take a few things; if you need anything else, I can have soone send it to you.”
Atra forced a smile, “It’s just so clothes to change into. I’m pretty much done packing…”
She closed the suitcase and began dragging it downstairs.
Purple watched in astonishnt, “Mom? You… You’re leaving now?”
