Chapter 827: Chapter 827: Visiting the Prison_1
Just like a patient suffering from a serious illness, the renown of the doctor ans nothing to them; the one who can truly alleviate their pain is the most “useful” doctor.
Upon hearing this, Old Master Simonson felt a stir in his heart and his expression beca more solemn. He said to Autumn Carter, “Your sister is right. There are many powerful people in this world, but we need those who can truly help us.”
Autumn Carter seed to get the gist but sensed that the atmosphere was sowhat off. The little girl pursed her lips and held her tongue.
Violet Nelson quietly sipped the soup in her bowl, feeling a twinge of regret.
Because after Purple Sumrs said those words, not only did she not embarrass herself, but she also seed to have won a little bit of the old man’s favor—this was not the outco Violet Nelson had hoped for.
However, this feeling of regret was fleeting.
...
After reassessing the strength of her adversary, Violet Nelson was ntally prepared, knowing that Purple Sumrs couldn’t be brought down by just a few words, but would require a much more cunning and ticulous plan.
In fact, bringing down Purple Sumrs was not Violet Nelson’s original intent.
What she wanted was the genuine acknowledgnt of the Simonson Family.
Violet Nelson’s eyes swept over Purple Sumrs’ face as if she saw an inevitably defeated wretch, her heart a serene expanse without a ripple.
This ti, she would make the people of the Simonson Family truly understand who was the most “useful” to them.
…
The next day, Caitlin Carter and Violet Nelson went out together to et the aforentioned Mr. Rieste.
Purple Sumrs and Autumn Carter had also arranged to go out together.
When Autumn Carter ca to find Purple Sumrs, she was dressed like a little detective and excitedly chattered non-stop, “Off to investigate a case, off to investigate a case!”
Both Old Master Simonson and the old lady couldn’t help but chuckle when they saw this, assuming Purple Sumrs was just going out to play with Autumn Carter.
Purple Sumrs and Autumn Carter went to prison.
They were there to see Caitlin Carter’s younger brother—Autumn’s father, Edward Carter.
As they waited for the prison guard to bring the prisoner out for the eting, Purple Sumrs asked Autumn Carter, “Did your dad give you your na?”
“My grandfather,” Autumn Carter replied. “Grandpa said that from the northern shore grows autumn maple, so my na is Autumn.”
“And what’s your mother’s na?” Purple Sumrs was curious. Could it be Eastern Rain, or perhaps Western Wind?
Autumn Carter spread her hands and said in distress, “That question is too tough. My dad had too many won. Even if we do paternity tests, lining up for them would take us into next year.”
Purple Sumrs chuckled and gently ruffled little Autumn’s head.
The door to the visiting room opened, and a prison guard brought in a man dressed in prison garb who showed a clear look of astonishnt upon seeing them.
“Autumn? How did you get here?” the man asked in surprise, his gaze then falling on Purple Sumrs, “And who are you?”
“Daddy! She’s Sister Purple Sumrs! Auntie said she’s the lawyer who’s going to represent you, don’t you rember?” Autumn spoke rapidly without reserve, “I’m now Sister Purple Sumrs’ assistant, and you can rest assured, we will definitely get you out of here!”
Edward Carter’s eyes flickered but he said nothing as he sat down in front of them, pressing his lips together.
Autumn Carter said, “Dad, you seem to have put on weight again? Is the prison food that good?”
Edward Carter laughed, “Is it bad to be a bit heavier? You used to complain that Daddy was too skinny to look like Santa Claus when he wore the costu.”
“I’m not an eight-year-old kid anymore. Santa Claus doesn’t exist in this world,” Autumn Carter said with distaste. “Dad, if I liked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, would you wear a shell on your back too?”
Edward Carter shook his head with a smile, “Autumn, a green-headed turtle isn’t a good taphor…”
Not understanding, Autumn Carter looked at Purple Sumrs, full of confusion.
Purple Sumrs said, “Assistant Autumn, I have top-secret information to tell your dad. Can you help by standing guard outside?”
Autumn fell for it, nodding solemnly.
Before leaving, she seriously admonished Edward Carter, “Dad, there’s no puzzle in this world that can’t be solved! As long as you cooperate with our investigation, the truth will surely co to light!”
