Chapter 821: Chapter 821 Living Quite Well_1

Christopher Simonson had stayed in the sterile ward for twenty days, and his health had recovered quite well, so he was transferred to the general ward.

Purple Sumrs and Caitlin Carter visited him, the window of the ward was half-open, the sunlight warm as it poured through the white gauze curtains, bright and splendid, infusing the entire ward with a sense of vibrant life.

Caitlin hurried to the window and closed it, “Don’t catch a cold, the doctor said your immune system is still weak.”

“There’s no wind today, so I opened the window to get so fresh air.” Christopher Simonson looked outside, his expression soft, “It’s been a long ti since I slled such fresh air.”

The sterile ward is a fully enclosed environnt, with no sunlight or contact with the outside world, and living under incandescent lights every day, there’s a sense of disorientation not knowing the day from night. Patients not only have to endure the pain of treatnt but also psychological stress.

Now that Christopher Simonson had moved to the general ward, he finally felt the relief of death’s retreat.

...

“Are you getting used to living at ho recently?” Christopher Simonson asked Purple Sumrs.

“I am,” Purple Sumrs told him honestly, “I’ve transferred my household registration, changed my na to Purple Sumrs Simonson, and the old man has provided with a bodyguard and driver.”

After listening, Christopher Simonson was silent for a mont, then asked, “Has the old lady said anything?”

It seems he was also aware of how difficult his mother’s personality could be.

Purple Sumrs tilted her head to look at him, “Why do you ask? Do you think the old lady won’t like ?”

Her question prompted Christopher Simonson to think for a bit, and then he half-jokingly replied, “Purple, it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t like you, no one in the family is to her liking, even , she can’t stand at all.”

“No way, although I’m not familiar with her, I think she likes you a lot.” Purple Sumrs said earnestly, “It’s precisely because she likes you that she endures my presence every day, even though I’m soone she dislikes.”

Christopher Simonson laughed at Purple Sumrs’s unique perspective and turned to ask Caitlin, “Has Mom been giving Purple a hard ti?”

Caitlin found it difficult to speak; as a daughter-in-law, she had no place to speak ill of her mother-in-law behind her back, but knowing her mother-in-law’s temper, to say she hadn’t been giving Purple Sumrs a hard ti would probably be sothing Christopher Simonson wouldn’t believe.

While hesitating, Purple Sumrs spoke up first, “The old lady has been dining in her own room these past few days, so we haven’t seen each other, there’s no question of any hardship.”

Christopher Simonson was taken aback, then instantly understood that the old lady was deliberately snubbing Purple Sumrs to make things awkward for her.

As his mother got older, her temper beca more whimsical, both capricious and unreasonable. Even Caitlin, as gentle as she was, managed to anger the old lady once, who exploded in a fit of rage but was stopped by the old master. After that, the old lady stopped joining them for als.

She behaved like a sullen child, dining in her room for several days in a row until Caitlin humbled herself to apologize to her, coaxing her into a better mood, only then did she agree to co out and dine with everyone else.

Even though Christopher Simonson was in the hospital, he could almost imagine his mother throwing another temper tantrum at ho.

“If you’re not comfortable living there, I have another house in the west suburbs, sotis I stay there to cool off during the sumr, it’s fully furnished…” Christopher Simonson attempted to discuss moving out with Purple Sumrs, he felt guilty towards her and truly didn’t want Purple Sumrs to endure any more discomfort.

Purple Sumrs shook her head, “Moving back and forth is too much trouble, besides it’s only a few days, I’m living quite comfortably.”

With her saying so, Christopher Simonson felt it improper to insist, but still worried that Purple Sumrs was just putting on a brave face. When Purple Sumrs stepped out to the restroom, Christopher Simonson whispered to Caitlin, “Next ti Mom loses her temper, let know, I’ll have a talk with Dad alone.”

The only one who might be able to subdue the old lady in this world was probably the old master himself.
