Chapter 788: Chapter 788 Fourth Sumrs Child_1
Alexander Sumrs could never forget the sight of Atra Blanc secretly wiping away her tears after receiving the DNA test results.
Mrs. Sumrs of those days was a greedy and an woman. Even without lifting a finger, her sharp tongue alone was enough to wounds Atra Blanc to the core. As for the young and rebellious Alexander, he was even less of a match for her; often, a few provocative remarks would enrage him beyond reason, leading to violent and outrageous words and actions.
This only cast Nathaniel Sumrs in a brighter light, highlighting his intelligence and sensibility.
Everyone said the least promising mber of the Sumrs Family was the Fourth Sumrs Child.
Alexander had spent his bewildered adolescence in agony. Eventually, he sobered up and began to learn to endure and bide his ti. To put Mrs. Sumrs at ease, he even went so far as to tarnish his own reputation deliberately, feigning the foolish behavior of a playboy, all to make life a little easier for Atra Blanc and Purple Sumrs.
Reflecting on it now, it was truly ironic. He was undeniably Old Master Sumrs’s own flesh and blood, yet his identity was questioned and he lived on the fringes, while the children of those who doubted him enjoyed the best resources the family could offer. In truth, they were the truly despicable spawn!
...
Alexander’s disdain for Nathaniel deepened.
He made no effort to hide his feelings. The haste in his stride and the icy coldness in his eyes seed to restrain a simring anger.
Purple followed him closely, her heart filled with unease.
As they walked out of the hospital entrance, the cold air hit their faces. The chill penetrated their chests, soothing the burning inside.
Alexander’s expression returned to calm.
Purple thought he was behaving strangely and wanted to ask about it, but just then Alexander lifted his hand and gently touched her head, saying, “The move has to be postponed again.”
Could it be the urgency about moving out that had him so agitated?
“It’s alright, we can leave after everything has been taken care of—it’s not too late,” Purple said, linking her arm through his, trying to comfort him. “All good things take ti.”
Dylan Sumrs and Laura Sumrs were involved in an accident. If they chose to leave at this juncture, they would certainly face criticism.
Alexander looked ahead and gave a low “hmm” in response.
The two returned to the Sumrs Residence to inform Atra Blanc and the housekeeper of what had happened, then arranged for servants to rotate shifts at the hospital.
By hiring two more skilled caregivers at the hospital, they could relieve Nathaniel and Laura, so they wouldn’t have to stay there without rest.
With the New Year approaching and such a tragedy occurring, the Sumrs Residence was thrown into disarray, with much speculation and discussion.
Atra Blanc especially was sighing heavily at ho, saying, “Mrs. Fowler will see everyone else enjoying a family reunion during the New Year, while she has just lost her son. White-haired parents sending off a black-haired child, how can she not be affected? Such a sin! Such a sin…”
Purple didn’t join the conversation, as sothing else ca to her mind.
After chatting with Atra Blanc for a bit, Purple returned to her room and rummaged around, finding a box.
When the box was opened, it contained so old photos, many of them severely scratched, the faces unrecognizable.
This was the “legacy” left by the previous Purple.
When she was first reborn and hadn’t yet secured her position in the Sumrs Family, she had handed them over to Aria Jackson for safekeeping and had only recently reclaid them.
The photos were all of Purple’s clandestine work, capturing the daily lives of the residents of the villa opposite, mostly images of the sisters, Laura and Yolanda Sumrs, with a few intimate pictures of Dylan and his mother, Janelle Roberts.
They were intimate pictures of an acceptable nature, clothes in place and no explicit behavior.
Still, the expressions and physical touch conveyed in them showed clearly that their relationship was anything but simple.
When she first received these photos, she had planned to use them to blackmail Dylan when the ti was right. But things did not go as she hoped, and she never found the right opportunity.
After discovering that her own death was unrelated to Dylan, she had all but forgotten these photos. Today, having witnessed Dylan risking his life to save Nathaniel, as if driven by so ghostly force, Purple rembered these photos she had kept…
