Jade Carlson was stunned, looking down at her phone screen, where the contact list showed the na Purple Sumrs!
She was confused. This matter had nothing to do with Purple Sumrs, so why did Nathaniel Sumrs want her to tell Purple?
“Nathaniel, if this gets out, those people won’t let off…” Jade Carlson hesitated.
Nathaniel Sumrs smiled, took the phone back, dialed another number, and handed it to her, “Then make this call, how about that?”
The phone screen glaringly showed the ergency number.
Jade Carlson’s back went cold, and she dared not harbor a sliver of hope, her voice trembling, “I’ll make the call… I’ll call Purple Sumrs…”
Jade Carlson dialed Purple Sumrs’s number.
From the phone ca the monotonous ringing: Beep—Beep—
Ti trickled away, each ring of waiting felt unbearably long.
For a long ti, no one answered the call.
Jade Carlson cautiously looked at Nathaniel, “Maybe… maybe she’s already asleep…”
Nathaniel Sumrs knew that Purple Sumrs was not at ho tonight.
And Alexander Sumrs was not there either.
Just the thought of these two people, possibly sharing a bed right now, even becoming physically intimate, made Nathaniel’s heart feel as if it had been slashed open, oozing with pus of hatred!
He hated them so much!
What had he done wrong? Why was he being treated like this!
“If the call doesn’t go through, keep calling!” Nathaniel Sumrs said with hatred in his voice, “Call until she answers the phone!”
Jade Carlson, panicked and frightened, dialed Purple Sumrs’s number a second ti after getting no response.
This ti, Purple Sumrs finally picked up the call.
Her voice was filled with heavy drowsiness, as if she was still not fully awake from her sleep, “…Hello?”
“Purple, Purple Sumrs.” Jade Carlson swallowed nervously, her voice shaking, “I… I have sothing I need to tell you.”
“…Jade Carlson?” Purple Sumrs beca a bit more alert; her tone was one of surprise, as she had not expected Jade Carlson to call her in the middle of the night.
Purple Sumrs asked suspiciously, “What’s the matter?”
“You were investigating Suzanne Saunders’s death before, weren’t you?” Jade Carlson said, “You guessed right, she was murdered, I… I tampered with her dicine, it wasn’t the dicine from Nathaniel Sumrs, I switched it!”
“Who told you to switch the dicine?” Purple Sumrs’s sleepiness was completely gone, she sat up from bed and demanded, “Why are you suddenly telling this?”
“It was—” Jade Carlson was about to speak when there seed to be soone instructing her on the other end, but the voice was not clear.
Purple Sumrs furrowed her brows and pressed, “Jade Carlson? …Hello, hello?”
“Purple Sumrs, do you really want to know? Co to the Sumrs Residence now, and I’ll tell you face to face.” Jade Carlson suddenly changed her tone, “It’s unclear over the phone.”
Having said that, she hung up the call.
Purple Sumrs held the phone that had ended the call, staying in a daze for a long while before snapping back to reality.
Alexander Sumrs asked her what was wrong.
“Jade Carlson called , said she had sothing to tell .” Purple Sumrs murmured in confusion, “Strange… why would she suddenly tell this? Could sothing have happened…”
Alexander Sumrs’s deep black eyes fixed on her, asking, “Oh, did she say what it was?”
“She said it wasn’t clear over the phone, and that I should go back to the Sumrs Residence now.” Purple Sumrs felt the matter was very unusual, “Jade Carlson must be in trouble.”
“Go back to sleep, she’s at the Sumrs Residence, she can’t get away anyway.” Alexander Sumrs gently stroked her hair, saying lightly, “We can go back tomorrow and ask her.”
Purple Sumrs thought for a mont, nodded, and lay back down to sleep.
It was too late now, and the mansion was particularly far from the city, it would be two in the morning by the ti she got back, better to ask tomorrow.
After all, Jade Carlson was eager to marry into the Sumrs family, she definitely wouldn’t run away.
Alexander Sumrs wrapped Purple Sumrs in his arms, kissed the top of her head, and whispered softly, “Goodnight, baby.”
Purple Sumrs smiled, pinching his cheek, “Goodnight, sweetheart.”
Alexander Sumrs chuckled.
But after the laughter, a subtle shade of lancholy flickered in the depth of his eyes.
