Chapter 590: Chapter 590 This Matter is Very Strange_1

Jane McCain’s gossip primarily ca from her mother’s connections and the news from entertainnt weeklies. Purple Sumrs and Zara Jason didn’t pay much attention to this, so they seed rather uninford.

But a private tutor being dismissed by the Douglas Family wasn’t exactly big news. It wouldn’t be common knowledge, and since Jane’s mother had no connections with the Douglas family, how could Jane know about their affairs?

Purple Sumrs was puzzled.

Jane said with a smile, “Bastian called and told .”

Sebastian Douglas had his first cell phone very early in life, which was a children’s watch phone.

“Bastian called you?” Purple Sumrs was even more surprised; her expression was almost one of shock.

Beside her, Zara Jason didn’t sense anything unusual and smiled, “I couldn’t tell, Jane, you seem to have a way with kids.”

“So-so, hahaha…” Jane laughed.

Purple Sumrs asked, “Did Young Master Douglas ntion the reason?”

“The private tutor was hired when Bastian was five, at a critical ti when he was transitioning from kindergarten to elentary school. Mrs. Douglas couldn’t look after him because of her depression, so Mr. Douglas hired her,” Jane explained. “Now Bastian is almost eight, has adapted to elentary school life and is very smart. He really doesn’t need a tutor’s help, and that tutor only had an English level of Grade 4, not much better than Bastian, so there was really no point in keeping her at the Douglas ho.”

“No point? Then why not dismiss her earlier? Why now?” Purple Sumrs narrowed her eyes, filled with suspicion as she stared at Jane, “Couldn’t be… that you’ve been badmouthing her, could it?”

Jane blushed slightly, “Don’t be like that. Do I look like the kind of person who gossips behind soone’s back?”

Purple Sumrs stared at her: “…”

Jane said awkwardly, “I really didn’t badmouth her. I just told Bastian that for English… you could find a teacher with better spoken language skills, to practice more…”

A tutor for kindergarten kids might have good academic qualifications, but their spoken English would definitely not be a match for an old hand like Jane.

Jane would travel abroad several tis a year with her mother to attend various fashion shows, mingling exclusively with foreigners. She didn’t just have good spoken English; she could even imitate different accents from several states.

“So… are you now Young Master Douglas’s spoken English teacher?” Purple Sumrs asked.

“Of course not!” Jane imdiately shook her head. “I can barely finish my own howork; how could I have ti to tutor soone else? It’s just that I occasionally talk to him on the phone, using a foreign language to communicate and help him with his pronunciation.”

After Jane finished, she couldn’t help but feel sentintal, “Bastian really is the smartest and most sensible kid I’ve ever t. Ah, what was I doing at the age of seven or eight? Playing with Barbie dolls?”

“You’re still playing with Barbie dolls,” Zara Jason teased her.

Jane imdiately retorted, “That’s different, okay? Now I design fashions and accessories for the dolls. I play in a very high-end and aningful way!”

“After all, it’s still playing with dolls!” Zara Jason continued to laugh at her.

Purple Sumrs was silent on the side, her expression suddenly beca sowhat somber.

Jane McCain and Zara Jason kept chatting back and forth.

Jane said, “If my future kids could be as smart and well-behaved as Bastian, that would be great. He’s like a genius contestant, winning right from the starting line… Oh right, he’s even asked to play baseball with him this weekend.”

“He asked you to play baseball?” Purple Sumrs was surprised.

“Ah, I know it’s a bit inappropriate to go to the Douglas ho just to play baseball with him,” Jane sighed. “But he looked so pitiful. His mom died in a car accident, and after finally getting a stepmom who adored him, she’s now divorcing and moving out. Mr. Douglas is furious; the servants are gossiping every day, and no one’s looking after him… I just couldn’t bear to say no.”

Purple Sumrs felt there was sothing very strange about this.

She wanted to persuade Jane not to go, but when the words reached her lips, she couldn’t find the right reason.

She thought: Let’s just see how things go.
