Chapter 583: Not Intentionally Keeping You in Suspense_1
“What high? High what?” Jane McCain still didn’t understand, “So what if you know Camilla Farrell? Does it have anything to do with this case?”
Allan Rivera smiled, shook his head, and started the car.
As the car drove onto the open road, Purple Sumrs explained to Jane McCain, “Camilla Farrell is a won’s rights activist and a good friend of the president of the Won’s Rights Protection Federation. She has many collaborative projects with them. In situations like the Douglas Family’s, it’s useless to go to the police, you have to ask the Won’s Rights Protection Federation for help.”
Purple Sumrs said, flashing a slight smile, and then continued, “So, you see, I wasn’t trying to be mysterious just now, it’s just that this could really offend people. If I had told Norman Douglas, the Justice outright, I’m afraid he would have blown his top right there, haha.”
Jane McCain suddenly understood.
Purple Sumrs was planning to whisk away soone’s wife and child; of course, she couldn’t tell them directly, or wouldn’t that make enemies?
“If the Won’s Rights Protection Federation gets involved, they really might divorce.” Jane McCain thought for a mont and sighed softly, “A divorce would be good… Living in constant fear and on guard, even if not depressed will turn into real depression. And as long as they get divorced, the killer hiding in the Douglas Household probably won’t be able to harm Mrs. Douglas’s children anymore.”
“How did your investigation go today?” Allan Rivera, who was driving in front, asked.
“Not bad,” Purple Sumrs’s smile faded a bit, “I have soone in mind, but it’ll take ti to verify. Right now, the most pressing issue is to quickly help Mrs. Douglas move away. We can’t allow her and her child to stay in that kind of place any longer. Even if the killer doesn’t strike again, Mrs. Douglas’s ntal state will break down sooner or later.”
A hint of a smile appeared on Allan Rivera’s poker face. He glanced at Purple Sumrs through the rearview mirror, his eyes filled with admiration.
“Nicely done, it wasn’t in vain that I fought for so long for you guys,” he said with a smile, “Looks like when you join the Prosecutor’s Office, I’ll have to be ready to poach you.”
When assigning interns, prosecutors could use so internal connections to get first pick of the interns. Securing a capable intern assistant could greatly improve their work efficiency.
That Allan Rivera would say such a thing was an obvious sign of affirmation that Purple Sumrs was a promising talent.
But for Suzanne Saunders, who had trained him, the feelings were complex at that mont.
Jane McCain imdiately asked, “Who’s the killer?”
“I can’t say just yet,” apologised Purple Sumrs with a smile, “I have no evidence, just personal speculation. I need so more proof to confirm it’s that person.”
“You can tell your guess, I promise I won’t tell anyone,” Jane McCain was extrely curious.
Purple Sumrs helplessly responded, “An accusation without solid evidence is too childish to ntion. If I’m wrong, I’ll regret my irresponsible words and actions every day.”
Jane McCain, feeling dejected, leaned back and exclaid, “This is too frustrating! Who exactly killed Mrs. Douglas’s child, ah! I really want to know!”
“It won’t be much longer,” Purple said, “You’ll know soon enough, at most… well, at most a month.”
“That’s still a long ti,” Jane McCain glared at Purple Sumrs with grievance, “Purple, just tell . Otherwise, I’m going to lose sleep over it.”
“Telling you now wouldn’t help,” Purple Sumrs laughed, “What if I’m wrong! If the killer turns out to be soone else, you’ll really lose sleep then!”
Seeing Purple Sumrs firmly unwilling to reveal the answer, Jane McCain was thoroughly frustrated, sighing heavily all the way in the car.
Allan Rivera drove to drop Jane McCain ho first, then took Purple Sumrs back.
Before Purple Sumrs got out of the car, Allan Rivera called out to her, asking, “Does Mrs. Douglas know who’s out to harm her?”
Purple Sumrs nodded, “She knows. That’s why she’s so afraid.”
Allan Rivera pondered for a mont, then said goodbye to Purple Sumrs, “Thank you for today. Once the Won’s Rights Protection Federation steps in, we’ll et again.”
By then, the truth should co to light.
