Purple Sumrs’ clear and cold eyes sparkled as she listened.
“Let him stew for a few days,” she replied.
Aria Jackson hesitated, then asked doubtfully, “Will Dylan Sumrs tell the truth?”
“It doesn’t matter if he tells the truth or not, as long as he exposes his weaknesses,” Purple’s gaze fell on the fallen leaves outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. She slowly continued, “Let’s test the waters and observe his reaction. If he really did it and we can’t find a single flaw, he must be hiding sothing very deep.”
Aria nodded, thinking of Dylan as a suspect and Nathaniel as a terrible person. She couldn’t help but feel irritated and cursed, “What kind of people are in the Sumrs family? They’re like a den of snakes, rats, insects, and prostitutes!”
Purple chuckled, “Don’t curse them; I’m a Sumrs now too.”
Aria sighed in frustration, “You, of all people, had to co back as a part of the Sumrs family.”
“I couldn’t control that,” Purple laughed softly. “Okay, my Officer Jackson, you should get back to work now.”
Aria let out a sigh, “Alright… I’ll call and inform you once I’ve made arrangents.”
They ended their call.
Purple had anticipated that Dylan would approach the Jason family.
He was so concerned about his reputation that he couldn’t ignore his daughter’s expulsion. Even with a slim chance, he would do everything to find a solution.
Purple had done a great favor for the Jason family, and Mrs. Jason had promised to repay her.
Now was the ti for her to do so.
Purple used Aria’s identity to investigate the case. After all, her true identity was delicate, and it would seem bizarre for her to investigate a murder.
But Aria was different. She was a criminal police officer and Suzanne Saunders’ friend. Having her investigate was more than appropriate.
So, Purple asked Mrs. Jason to help Officer Jackson by getting a few words out of Dylan when he ca to see her.
It wasn’t a difficult request, and the righteous and warm-hearted Mrs. Jason imdiately agreed to help Purple.
Everything followed Purple’s plan, step by step. The outco of the situation, however, remained unpredictable.
Purple put down her book and walked towards the floor-to-ceiling windows to admire the scenery outside, her thoughts deep in her mind.
Could Dylan Sumrs be the one who killed her?
A crow landed in a pile of fallen leaves, occasionally raising its black tail as it searched for sothing to stuff into its nest on the ground.
Watching its frantic activity, Purple’s heavy mood gradually lightened. “Tiny Sumrs,” she called to the crow.
This ti, it responded. The crow stopped its search, tilted its head, and looked at Purple as if questioning her.
“Tiny, Tiny,” Purple continued to call its new na and waved at it.
It seed to understand and flew towards her, resting on Purple’s forearm.
Purple grinned, revealing a row of neat white teeth, and her smile was innocent and bright.
“Tiny, you’re so clever!” she praised.
In her heart, she thought about how wonderful life was. Once she had the killer brought to justice, she would thoroughly enjoy life and make up for the regrets of her past.
In the following days, the atmosphere at ho beca extrely tense.
Dylan Sumrs would fly into a rage almost every day.
Laura Sumrs was grounded and no longer went to school.
Yolanda Sumrs, fearing her father’s anger and her sister’s biting remarks, chose to hide out at school.
Everyone was anxious and on edge, except Purple who seed to be completely unaffected.
On Saturday night, Jane McCain celebrated her birthday. Her mother, a well-known designer, gave her an unusual gift: a fashion show.
Jane invited Purple and Zara Jason to attend.
This was a novelty for Purple, who had never seen a fashion show up close before.
She was looking forward to it..
