Capítulo 1681: Chapter 1681: I Have a Little Goldfish 47
The little goldfish had deep feelings for the once Elder Master Ray. Opening the diary and seeing the handwriting from “Andrei,” her eyes slowly reddened.
“Is all of this… about ?” she asked softly.
Aaron Ray nodded and pointed out to her, “This is the date, this is your na… Look, this is your first eting. He heard news about the angel fish and traveled thousands of miles to find you, braved long journeys, encountered poisonous insects and fierce beasts in the mountains, and almost fell off a cliff several tis. Eventually, he found you in a deep pool in the mountain stream…”
There was a faint glimr of tears in the little goldfish’s eyes, but she smiled, “How difficult it was… like a fairy tale.”
Aaron Ray also smiled, “Yes, the prince traversed mountains and waters, faced all kinds of hardships and dangers, and finally rescued the beautiful princess from the hands of the evil dragon.”
Turning a page, he pointed at the diary again, “Look, it says here, two pythons were lurking outside the mountain stream, attacking the mbers of the expedition team. Fortunately, they were equipped with sufficient weapons, and the rescue was tily.”
“Those two snakes were terrifying.” The little goldfish wiped her tears and joined him in denouncing, “They always wanted to eat , making afraid to co out and sunbathe, so I could only hide in the mud at the bottom of the water, it’s really annoying.”
Aaron Ray thought of her situation at the ti, finding the world magical, and feeling fortunate that she was safe.
“What does it say later?” she asked again.
“Later…” Aaron Ray ca back to himself, turned a few more pages, “It writes about how he brought you ho… He worried you wouldn’t adapt to the water outside, so the expedition team carried a lot of water from the pool where you lived on the way, and because the load was too heavy, everyone had to abandon expensive equipnt and even so essential supplies. They endured many hardships to take you out of the mountain.”
The little goldfish listened, feeling moved, and her expression unknowingly softened.
Aaron Ray slowly recited, “… After arriving ho, I added half a cup of lake water to the fish tank every day to help it adapt to the water quality until the tank’s water was similar to the nearby lake’s, only then did I dare to put it in the garden’s lake-filled pond…
It was shy, hardly ever appearing, and I often strolled around, observing if it had adapted to its new ho… I found it had a fondness for magnolia alba, the white orchid tree’s branches extended over the water, and when the flowers faded, the petals fell on the water, and it liked to hide underneath, like a lady’s white silk parasol…”
Aaron Ray flipped page after page, slowly reading out the bits and pieces in the diary.
“I’ve never seen a fish so petite and lovely, it’s incredibly smart. Once it got familiar with my footsteps, whenever it heard I was coming, it would surface and blow bubbles, like a silent welco… When I’m free, I go to see it, it’s so carefree, seeing it makes forget all my worries…”
The little goldfish listened intently.
Aaron Ray’s voice grew increasingly low.
In truth, there were no old affections, just he used the occasion to embellish, adding so imagination, so embellishnts, and a bit of his own genuine feelings and sensations.
Reading to the end, Aaron Ray himself beca confused, not knowing if this grand lie was deceiving her or himself.
“Why did you stop reading?” The little goldfish, still wanting more, opened the last page for him, “What does it say here?”
Aaron Ray looked at the words on the paper, his thoughts in a daze, “Here it writes…”
He fell silent.
The little goldfish looked at him, puzzled.
“It writes…” Aaron Ray paused for a mont and began reading, “Lately, my health has been deteriorating, haven’t gone to the pond for several days, don’t know if it misses … If I fall seriously ill and my descendants are unable, don’t know who can take care of it for … A lifeti of diocrity, the only self-satisfying accomplishnt is this angel fish, she is my… most cherished treasure.”
The little goldfish closed her eyes, tears streaming down.
